I just thought I'd put this out here for those of you who are watching the TV series. Feel free to talk about the show, the characters, whether you think the characters matched the descriptions from the book, what you think will happen, etc.

Wow, what a phenomenal series! I'm glad I started reading Book 1, because now I just have to see what happens next. Reading the books will tide me over to Spring 2012. Lisa Kay, I thought the same thing last week! :-(
I'm only about halfway through the book, but it's impressive how true to the book the series is. HBO did the same for Mildred Pierce (which was also excellent).
Does anyone know if Season one covers all of the first book or a portion?I just saw today that pre-sales have started for Season One of A Game of Thrones.
I'm loving the TV show. But there is no way I can sit patiently and wait for next season, so I'm gonna pick up the first 4 books. = )

I have heard lot about the TV show but i could not watch here in my country, I have started the first book and read about two-third.. I m impressed with the writing but feel it quite slow.Wish I could watch TV show too.

I had watched the entire show in a 24 hour period, it was so intense and so good....I just bought the book today cause if the show is that good you know the book is most likely better.
So I have to ask....was some of it really gross? I can't imagine seeing Dany eating a heart. Did they edit that part out or was it in there?
its in there, and it depends on your meanungof gross, its gory yes but gross nah I think it was well done
