Can't think of a particular title offhand but there are already several Young Adult novels & series dealing with zombies. I'd read some of those, or at least become familiar with them before jumping into a genre that may be overfilled already.

There was a movie like that -- I think it was called Prom of the Living Dead, or something like that. Just make sure yours is different.

The thing about zombie stories is that the invasion pretty much happens to everyone. Having a few characters you follow that are in that age bracket might be interesting depending on how they are portrayed. Zombies are rarely the focus of zombie books. More often than not they are a plot device.

Scott, would you be thinking of Fred Dekker's NIGHT OF THE CREEPS? Alien parasites turn some teens into zombie like creatures and the school geeks have to fight them. Lots of cheesy fun.

Steve, it wasn't NIGHT OF THE CREEPS (that was a classic). This was made about five years ago and centered on high school geeks battling the living dead on prom night. It was a disappointment.
