Goodreads 101 - How do I do [blank]

If you are in the app, touch "More", and then "Explore". This one is tricky, because you will have come featured lists, but no search box! Or at least I couldn't find it yet.

The listopia menu only shows 6 categories: YA 2017; Chick-lit you shouldn't read in public; books I wish I hadn't read, genres and some others. I can't figure out how to browse listopia lists.

I don't know that you can. You may need to use Safari and the full website on your iPad.
The mobile app is the most useless thing. Last night, I was trying to look for information on an author and the "author profile" on the app only showed the books he's written. I had to switch to Safari and the full site to get more information on him.

LOL!

I use my iPod for looking up things, if I have wifi available. I use my tablet and old Nook primarily for reading, but I keep the wifi turned off because it sucks the battery life so quickly. If I am at home and charging, it is okay. I usually do not log-in to the Internet version unless I am on my lap-top, either at work or at home.
The mobile apps are good for looking up books and updating status and that is about all. I also read posts, to keep in touch, but do not respond quite as much. It is too frustrating not to be able to link books, but I don't worry about it a lot. I try to go back and link them, but it does not always happen. :0)

ROFLing!
It is not quite as bad as your post makes it sound. My phone is NOT a smart one and my tablet IS my Nook. It is my source for all ebooks from Barnes & Nobel and Kindle and via the library on Overdrive and 3M. Although my tablet will allow me to listen to audio books, I use my iPod for that because it is so much more portable. I could read on my iPod, but prefer not to (I do have one book loaded onto it for emergencies). My laptop belongs to the company I work for, and I rarely bring it home although I can any time I want to. Many people take theirs home every night. (I stare at the darn thing all day - I don't need to all night too.) I can work from home, if I need to through the company fire wall via my internet connection. Since my old PC died, my iPod and tablet serve as an internet source, when I need it.
I use my iPod for pretty much everything, when I am not reading or listening to a book, and if I have a wifi connection, keeping up on FB, playing Suduko and WordBrain, checking the weather, looking up words and using Safari for research and You Tube for videos, as a camera and keeping track of time. It is my alarm and timer and watch and radio via Pandora. I do not even wear a watch any more. I do not watch TV any more. I do not miss it at all. If I need a news update, I can get it at work.

That is the way my daughter feels.

I read The Picture of Dorian Gray and I have the correct edition on my shelf but I want to post the correct cover in my 2017 challenge thread - but there are hundreds of editions to sort through.

Hopefully someone else has a better solution...

Yes, you can. When you find the title, there is a link under the add button for "other editions". Click on it and away you go!

Specifically I would like to move my personal thread for the 2017 challenge to the YLTO member zone because the way I organized it has created difficulties for Janice.

However, each person should only have one thread for the challenge and it should be in the Year Long Challenge folder. We try to keep folders and threads organized to some degree.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. Do you mean reserve a post so that you can go back and edit it later and so that spot doesn't get taken up by posts from other members? Or do you mean something else?
If it's the former, just right reserved in a post and save it. That's what I do.

What do they mean?

Thanks, I had never delved that deeply ...

TJ - You might check to see if your app has the latest update. There have been several updates for the GR Apple on my iPod lately. I think there was an Android App for my tablet last week. Also, make sure you turn your device completely off and on once in a while.

It happens to me too, but only when I am traveling. I think it is when I have a weak internet or wifi signal - perhaps the duplication happens if the transmission is interrupted.

I'm always receiving recs for Paulo Coelho's books (in the classic's category nothing less!) and I really hate it...
