Angela P Not enough dragons to fight the Thread so they go back (or maybe this time, forward) in time? Uh, is it just me or did this plot device already get used once?

David Fournier Actually it's been used more than once, but what was really interesting and has not been stated in any of the other Pern books. It occurs at the end of the book; is that dragons and riders can become trapped "in between".

Minna It's been used before, definitely, but used too much in this book (IMO). I was interested by the bit at the end too, about being trapped "in between", but why would this only have happened now? Why not to Moreta? Too little time spent on the interesting parts, and too much on others (I'm looking at you, neverending discussions of pregnancy...)

Kev I'm reading this now. I've been reading the entire series. I can't seem to care at all about these characters. It's more of a soap opera with dragons than a fantasy. Isn't that Ms. McCaffrey didn't want the tv show made way back when? because it would've been to much of a soap opera?

Victoria I'm having trouble finishing this one. I don't know if it is the repetitive plot or the fear that this is the last one. Todd McCaffrey's page gives hope. He posted in September that he and his sister might get to continue once the estate and contract issues were settled. I do hope so. I have loved visiting Pern for two-thirds of my life:)
