Personally though, I don't know how important this actually is. This kind of thing happens--is happening--all over the world, not just in Uganda.

So, there's these creatures called Spawn of the Banshee, or just banshee for short. They're beautiful, succubus like creatures, weak to metal, who when they fall asleep a butterfly-like thing that is their banshee goes out and feeds.
So there's twin half-banshees, half-humans-- Isidora (:D I had to) and Esperanza. Issy is married to Prince Lulor, but she's unfaithful to him. When Issy goes to visit her separate lover, identical twin Esperanza takes her place beside Lulor.
So Lulor finds out about the cheating, but not the twin-switch. So when Esperanza falls asleep, he coaxes her banshee across the portal to the human world (still all medieval) and tosses her body over as well.
A human boy, Dane, finds her and captures her. She wakes up in a cage of metal, surrounded by humans.
Basically, we pull a Host here. The people start off hating her. Then Dane's little sister Ailey warms up to her, and or by one so do the humans. Dane falls in love with her. Then Isidora launches an armada to recapture her sister, and they burn down the entire village, ruining the trust that the humans had built in Esperanza as she is carried away from her new home.
That's all we've thought of so far.
