I seem to be giving you guys chills a lot these days, and I don't really even know what they are. Describe the feeling?

Me: Do you know what goosebumps are, Hope? When something is really deep, or terrifying, or gives any kind of overdose of emotion, the human body releases it through chills. It's like a big shiver, accompanied by a feeling kind of at the back of your neck. Almost like your hair standing on end.

It can be the reason as to why Felix kills himself. :O

Me: That was my plan, darling. It drives him to the edge.

Now, I have two ideas.

Option A: Felix dreams in the third person, as if he is watching a movie about he and Ruby. He is watching from outside of his body. It's a dream of them when they are older. Felix's demon is gone. They're out of the asylum. It's like a Utopian world. In love and perfect. When he wakes up, there is a rather harsh realization that none of that is ever possible. Ruby is dead. His demon won't leave him ever. Even if he made it out, there would be no future for him outside of the asylum. And so he puts a gun to his head and pulls the trigger.

Option B: Felix's dream is instead in the first person. He is there, talking with Ruby who claims to have come to visit him from beyond because he needs her. The dream starts off rather well. Big hugs, tears, kisses, a cute and heartwarming reunion. But then Ruby finds his scars, utterly looses it, and starts yelling at him, crying, everything. His demon gets a little irritated and begins telling him to let him take over. Felix struggles for a while and tries to hold back. But something snaps finally and then they both go berserk and after that point it is a cruel, vicious nightmare that wakes him up in tears. He realizes that it would have been inevitable, regardless, and then becomes livid. And then, again, the gun is held to his head and the trigger pulled.

Which do you like better, darling?

Me: Of course. I don't know why I bothered to ask c; I shall get going on that.

But in his dream world, every scratch was scarred, every broken bone was healed, and for once, Felix Newbury didn’t feel any pain. And at the same time, he didn’t feel the need to feel the pain. Felix Newbury was… normal, for once.

“Oh my god, Ruby, you’re here. You’re alive. You’re perfect.” He had pulled her into a hug and he wouldn’t let her go. He breathed in the familiar scent of her shampoo, the velvet touch to her skin, the feel of her forehead and her cheeks against his lips. Oh god, she was real, she was alive, she was here. And before he could even stop himself, Felix was crying. Crying against her hair and pulling her tight and not letting her go. His shadow girl was here. Alive. Well. Perfect. (hide spoiler)]
