Domonic smirked, holding off the snort of amusement that was sure to follow. "I'll be sure to tell everyone that," he promised her with a chuckle. The hand on her shoulder squeezed the tiny bump that was her frail shoulder. "I'll just tell the next patient that wants to attack me that my girlfriend said I'm not allowed to get hurt, so they have to go attack someone else. Let's see how well that goes over, shall we?"

Domonic nodded with amusement-laced enthusiasm. "Exactly! And then I'll just show them a picture of you pouting and they'll never be able to resist." He tucked a hand under her chin, pinching her gaunt cheeks to give her an almost chubby-like appearance. "Because it's just so irresistible."

His voice has lowered considerably, even though it was obviously a tease. He tipped a wink at her with another smile. The hand that had been pinching her cheeks relocated to play with the uneven strands of bright blonde hair.

The library was quiet, probably one of the most deserted places you could find in the asylum, and the Hispanic girl wandering through the halls found it to be odd. If you were bored out of your mind, and had nothing else to do in a mental asylum, why not pick up a book and indulge yourself in the words? When Juana had first arrived, her english had been poor, but with all the reading she had forced herself into and the talking with the other patients, she had steadily improved in her English and now if not for her accent, it would have been believable that English had been her first language. Now the boredom had nagged her and driven her back into the library, looking for something to read.

"Putain Christ."
The brown-haired psychopath cursed, sighing rather audibly as his gray gaze fell upon the girl. Evander lay sprawled across the big leather chair, jean-clad legs draped across one end and his neck laying upon the other.
Evander, too, had been searching for some sort of peace and quiet, and up until a few moments ago peace had been achieved. Juana hadn't even said a word and Evander was already not excited for this conversation. He supposed headaches could do that to someone.
The words were quiet, though, hardly loud enough to be heard and especially not recognized. Gray gaze looked the newcomer up and down, a sight curiosity present behind the irritation.

Juana turned, just hearing the words in the silence of the library, though she didn't understand the words. A small smile came across her pouty lips, her eyes bright with mock friendliness. The boy before her, although extremely handsome, even she could admit, he didn't look the least bit friendly or willing to have a conversation. Though he had talked, and so Juana closed the book that she had been looking at (Little Women, a classic, though she hadn't been too interested in it) and her lips pulled down in a confused pout, her golden eyes clouding over slightly. Juana looked almost more lost than confused. She decided to at least respond to the boy, even if they couldn't carry on a conversation (which she would relish). "¿Que? Lo siento, no comprendo."

Evander arched an eyebrow at the girl in his familiar expression of disbelief. Bullshit, of course she couldn't understand him. But he had a very hard time believing the girl spoke no English. Alright, honey, if you want you play the language game, he thought with a little smirk.
"Désolé, poupée, je ne vous comprends pas non plus." Evander gave the tiny Hispanic an arched brow and a challenging glare, as if to say yes, please, keep speaking Spanish. Evander put an almost innocent expression in place, eyebrows raised and mouth slightly open in a smolder. "Tu ne parles pas anglais, mademoiselle?"

Juana recognized one word in his spiel of French, and her expression turned bright with recognition. "!Si!" She exclaimed excitedly, pointing at herself like she didn't have a thought in her little head of hers. She figured that that was how most girls would act if someone as attractive as the French boy looked at them the way he was looking at her now. Smug, she noted, and her mental eyebrow raised in slight distaste. Very smug. Perhaps he thinks that I'll crack before he does. Despite her thoughts, the murderer all but jumped up and down, forcing a blush that was barely visible under her dark complexion to creep across her face. "Estoy un chica. Su dime, señor, su solo hablas François, o su hablas Ingles también?" A small smile of innocence playing at her lips while she blinked more times than usual, pulling off the look of a completely clueless girl who was falling under Evander's spell of his smolder.

Evander groaned a little at the fake peppy attitude radiating from the girl. There went his peace. He turned his head entirely, running a hand through his hair with a sigh. This would get very tiring, very quickly. "Oui, mademoiselle, je parle un peu anglais, mais je préfère parle français. Comprenez-vous?" Two could easily play at that game, and it seemed that the two were. Evander had heard enough Spanish to get the jist of Juana's words, although grammatically they made no sense to him. If the Hispanic thought he would be first to break, she was wrong. The challenge returned to Evander's gaze.

Thankfully for Juana, there were some conjugations that Juana could make sense of to translate the words. Otherwise, she would have been completely lost in their conversation. It did take her a moment though before she could think of a response. "Uhhh pienso comprar, pero no hablo Ingles. Lo siento, señor." She looked truly apologetic, which was just as much of an act as everything act. A very convincing act, but an act all the same. She peered at Evander under her long eyelashes, her uniquely colored eyes glimmering with her curiosity and yearning, as if she so badly wished to carry on a real conversation with the boy instead of trying to skate around language barriers.
[Uhhh, I think I understand, but I don't speak English. I'm sorry, sir.]

Bullshit, he thought again with an internal roll of his eyes. But he wasn't about to back down. The conversation was at least entertaining, what with the constant challenging between the two. " Oh, eh bien, nous avons atteint une impasse. Mon espagnol est terrible. Je ne crois pas que ce soit en notre faveur, poupée." Evander offered a truly innocent expression, one that came from years of practice, and he even pursed his lips into a tiny pout, as if he were truly disappointed.
[ Oh dear, well, we have reached a stalemate. My Spanish is awful. I don't believe this is working in our favor, doll.]

Juana felt amusement fill into her chest, but her facial features gave no way to it. Her eyes kept the excited, but completely innocent expression alive and believable. Though it was clear to her that the French boy was flirting around the challenge, and the two if them seemed to be mentally dancing around each other with their 'language barrier'. The first one who spoke English, the other would strike. She took a step towards him, waving at him with her fingers as bright as the smile on her lips. She pointed at herself, making eye contact with Evander to make sure he was paying close attention. "Juana," she introduced and then pointed at himself, a gesture meant to tell him it was his turn.

"Oh mon Dieu, pensez-vous je suis stupide?" Evander rolled his eyes at the girl before arching his eyebrows. She honestly thought him that dumb? Of course, Evander understood the rules of the game, although he played slightly offended. Delicately, he took her own hand in his and pointed it towards him. "Evander." The name was spoken with a nod; no smile, no laugh, a simple nod. And then the French man dropped her hand. He continued, crossing his arms over his chest. "Ainsi, Juana, pourquoi ne parlez-vous pas l'anglais?"

Unfortunately, Juana misinterpreted Evander's first comment, and she snatched her hand away before he could drop it. The second comment was dismissed entirely as she placed her hands on her hips in a haughty action. "Soy estúpida?" She asked in a tone that feigned hurt, though her tight body language gave off the impression of anger and offense. "No me conoces, Guapo." She let her eyes flash at him, secretly proud of the act she was pulling off. "¿Como su piensas soy estúpida?" Her voice went from hurt to demanding after one sentence, though she couldn't help but notice that her body language wasn't entirely angry- she had thrown in some coy behavior, possibly hoping to throw him off just a little. She was beginning to enjoy their little game. It provided her with at least some excitement.

[I'm assuming that means "Why do you think I'm stupid?"]
Evander arched his eyebrow, cocking his head to the side in a truly innocent expression. He was obviously doing a much better job of translating than her. [Oops. Sorry, yes.]
The Hispanic girl kept the look of anger onto her face for a while, until she recognized the word cherié and then she let it drop. A look of embarrassment replaced it, her eyes widening with realization at the expression on his face. "Ohhhhh!" She exclaimed as she placed a hand over her mouth, that she had allowed to drop into an 'o' of realization and probably horror. "Oh, lo siento, cariño. No me dio cuento... No conoció François muy bien." Her expression turned slightly hopeful now. "Se puedes perdonar?"

Evander even went so far as to chuckle, a disbelieving little scoff escaping his lips. He kept an eyebrow arched. " Oh, ma chérie, nous verrons à ce sujet. Je suis assez choqué par votre colère." Juana bit back a snicker at his pout. Cute, but not convincing enough. "Por favor, no faneca." She pleaded, her tone -that and their facial expressions were the only things saving Juana from their so called language barrier- sweet and encouraging. "Su tienes un cara muy guapo a faneca." The golden-eyed girl shook her head at him, a low tsk escaping her lips. On the inside, she was smirking, smug and pleased that they were both holding up so well in their little game. On the outside, her face showed no sign of her smugness. On the outside, her eyes were wide and innocent, if not still looking fazed by the boy's attractive face.

A coteau? Juana's eyebrows pulled together for a moment as she tried to figure out the key word. It was something that could be placed into your pocket, and it almost sounded like an English cognate. "Oh!" Juana's eyes lit up and she snapped her fingers a if to say, aha! She made a striking movement, and then stabbed at the air. "Un cuchillo?" She asked him.

Juana tilted her head, thinking over his words again. If the points were being given on how quickly they could make sense of the other language, she was losing badly. Still, she wasn't about to give up on their game, and she definitely wasn't about to lose. And if her rough translation was correct, then she didn't want to lose with the knife dangling between them. "Uhh a su hablas Ingles, se ataco, pero yo hablo Ingles, me ataca?" With her invisible weapon still in hand, she demonstrated to help the "language barrier" while she spoke. She first pointed at Evander, and then turning her free hand into a head, made it talk, then made a movement as if to swipe at Evander. She repeated the motions, turning them around so they demonstrated the other possible scenario.

After all, what was the fun in changing your story half-way trough your game? "Estariendo fácil porque no conoció Ingles." A small girl was huddled into a large chair, being swallowed by the cushions as she tried to make herself even smaller. Her hair was pulled back into a messy bun, and her hair was all over the place from constantly running her fingers through it. She was entranced with her bible, again, ballpoint pen in hand and a highlighter stuffed in her mouth. She had nearly been in the chair all day, alternating between pen and highlighter to put on the pages. Since the fire, this had been her form of comfort. She had even gone as far as to rescratch off lines and rehighlight other lines, and it had helped some. It beat talking to the doctors. Now her legs were starting to cramp up, and she stretched out in the chair, letting her legs feel the relief and wincing at the cracking sound her knees made.
"Having fun over there?" The voice and words belonged to Jason, who sat at one of the tables opposite Rebecca, casually posed with one leg crossed over the other. One blonde eyebrow was raised, and a slight smirk was evident on his lips as he spoke: he'd been watching the tiny blonde for a while now (all that scratching with her pen and highlighter was hard to ignore) and she seemed completely engrossed in defacing whatever book she had in her lap. It was almost amusing, the way she went about it; like if she didn't the world would end. It was surprising to him that she had even set it down to stretch.

Rebecca stopped mid-stretch, the peaceful smile vanishing and her closed eyes opened widely. She hadn't realized that the boy had been right across from her. She chided herself, it was so rude of her to not notice another soul in the room, especially when he had been right in front of her. The younger girl sat up, crossing her legs underneath her in the chair, and her frown of surprise turned into a pleasant smile. "Oh, hi. Sorry, I didn't see you there." She grabbed her bible again and although she didn't dive right back into it again, she anxiously began to fiddle with the old pages. "How long have you been sitting there, anyway?" She asked him, eyes looking him up and down. Had she seen him around before? She decided that that was a no. She didn't recognize his face.
"At least as long as you have." Jason gave a careless shrug. "Probably longer. I dunno." He returned her scrutinizing look, eyes narrowing slightly. He didn't recognize the girl; she definitely wasn't notorious for murder--he knew all of the sadists there were in St. Peter's, and most of them (excepting flower girl) were male. He tilted his head at her as a bird might in his same situation, and now a small smile of amusement parted his lips. "Name's Jason. Who're you, some kind of bibliophile?" He remembered the word from his conversations with Lena Paters (she was gone by now, of course, but he still remembered the sassy green-eyed girl.) She had certainly been a bibliophile.

Rebecca smiled slightly in amusement, but her eyes took on a weary look, as if she suddenly suspected Jason to launch at her with questions she didn't want to answer and accusations she didn't want to hear. He looked fairly harmless, and she hoped that his looks were not deceiving. "My name's Rebecca," she introduced pleasantly, keeping her tone polite. "And no? I'm not a whatever you just called me. At least, I don't think I am." Her dark blonde eyebrows furrowed together slightly in confusion. "What is the definition of that word?" She had been called several things before, but not the one that had come from the blonde sadist's lips.
"Apparently, it means you're obsessed with books." Another shrug, and Jason chuckled. "Don't take it from me, though. I was just told that by another patient who used to live her. I'm not exactly at the top of my classes--you can't expect me to use fancy-ass language like that on a regular basis." His amused expression was replaced by an amiable--but slightly mocking--smirk. "So: are you obsessed with books? You're marking the shit out of the one in your lap. What did it ever do to you?"

Rebecca's smiled widened slightly. She liked how Jason talked. He was blunt, and didn't care what words came out if his mouth. Bold, not many people she'd met here were. She shook her head with a chuckle that mirrored his own. "Nope. Not obsessed with books." She put specific emphasize on the plural of the word. She supposed that you could say she was slightly obsessed with a book, but she didn't really think so. She was simply doing things that she found needed to be done, and the book just happened to be a part of it. When Jason asked about the book, her expression changed somewhat drastically. Her jaw clenched slightly, and she swallowed to attempt to cover it, though it couldn't cover the slightest of flashes in her green gaze. "This is being done because this-" she held up the book to show Jason the title. "-is bull shit." She tried to keep her tone light, but there was a bit of darkness that crept in despite her efforts.
Jason couldn't help it--when he saw the words Holy Bible printed in gold letters across the front of the book's cover, he burst out laughing. "A Bible?" he cried gleefully, and couldn't keep a huge smile of amusement off of his face. "Jesus Christ!" Part of him thought that sort of pun only to be appropriate. "My parents would have killed me if they saw me marking up a Bible like you are. They would have been so concerned about a neighbor seeing." Taking note of the way she tensed as she spoke, he offered her a grin to try and lighten the mood despite the flash of annoyance that his own words brought. "I wouldn't worry about it here, though. So many people have broken the Ten Commandments it's not even funny. Rule six especially. Thou shalt not kill?" Jason chuckled, a brief and low sound that actually hinted at amusement. "I don't think so."

Rebecca relaxed at his words that were comforting to her, though the sadist hadn't meant it intentionally. She set the book down again, closing it tight to prevent herself from fiddling with it again. "Some people might not think it's that big of a deal, but the nurses sure do freak out if they see me with it." She looked up from gazing at the book to Jason's face, eyes wide again, showing the slightest bit of fear as a realization hit her. She had had a slip if the tongue, and it was one that could get her in trouble. "You won't tell the nurses I had it out, will you? They'll take it away again, and I absolutely hate that."
"Nah. Chill." Jason chuckled, waving one hand as if dismissing her fear (though on the inside he found it quite amusing.) "Your secret is safe with me, Rebecca. After all, I keep plenty of my own." A wink. The blonde sociopath was on some level prepared for the blasphemous girl to start asking questions, but he had a feeling that she might not--not the dangerous ones, anyway. After all, he had afforded her a courtesy. He figured she was polite enough to do the same. Besides, she didn't exactly look like the overly-impolite type; she seemed to be quite good at watching her own back.

"Oh?" Rosemarie asked, slightly curious, but honestly more relieved that the boy promised to keep her little secret. He seemed okay, possibly someone she would want on her side if push ever came to shove. She didn't want to pry, she knew it was impolite, even though she could admit that yes, she was curious to find out his own secrets, though she hadn't told him all of hers, either. She figured that if he wanted her to know, he would tell her. "I suppose that's not so surprising," she told him as she began to physically relax more. She leaned back against the back of the chair, resting her head back while keeping eye contact with the blonde sadist. "It seems that everyone here has at least one dirty little secret. Why else would they be here?" She raised an eyebrow, as if suggesting he give her another suggestion.
"Eh, I beg to differ. Some of us have our secrets all out in the open." Raven came to mind; he certainly didn't try too hard to keep his life shrouded in mystery. At least not when it came to the death of his sister. How he wound up in the asylum? Another story entirely. But Jason shrugged--he wasn't trying to be philosophical, just conversational. "There aren't many, but they do exist. Problem is, the openness generally means you shouldn't be fuckin' with 'em." Quiet laughter. "Because they want their reputation for a reason."

The young blasphemous nodded along with him in agreement. She supposed that it was true, though she hadn't met most people who were willing to tell them something significant about them. She knew more people with secrets than not. She thought about Jason's name again, and his face. It was a face that she thought was fairly recognizable, which meant she had not seen him around, and she knew for sure she hadn't talk to him before. She hadn't heard about him, either, so he didn't have as big a reputation as Raven, possibly he didn't have one at all. She was curious to know, but not wanting to be extremely rude. "Not meaning to pry or anything." She straightened in her chair, fixing Jason with a curious expression. "But which category do you fit under?"
"The secret-keeping one. Weren't you listening?" Jason offered up a slightly wider smirk. "I got things going on in my head that no one particularly needs to know about, blondie. It's way easier to keep them up there than try to scare everyone off all the time." He gave a little laugh, then leaned back in his chair (the wood creaked a little at his weight, but it was pointedly ignored.) "You know what I mean? I'm pretty much the definition of 'lazy ass.' I don't have the time--or the will, for that matter--to keep up a decent rep."

"Well, that's good," she told him, almost praising him brightly. "I don't really like the people who are desperate to keep their reputations. It reminds me of high school preps, ya know? Doing whatever they can to keep their rep intact." Rebecca made a face and rolled her eyes to show what she thought about the people in high school she was talking about. She hadn't really had any problems with high school preps when she had been in school, but she still hadn't been a fan of some of the nastier, airheaded girls she went to school with. "What about you?" She asked Jason, coming out of her memory fog. "Were you here before high school or were you able to experience it a little before you came here?"
"Sure I did." Jason shrugged, pursed his lips--but there was a very brief flash of something unpleasant in his eyes. He'd been in highschool when the killings had started, when he'd realized that there were ways to relieve his stress that didn't involve submission and being completely prim and proper. They had been good years at first, but they had stedily gotten worse as he killed more and more people and gone more and more crazy. It was not something he particularly liked to think about--but he could try, for Rebecca's sake. Best not to let her leave too curious, lest she go asking around. "I didn't get tossed in here until I was seventeen. Highschool wasn't exactly the shit for me--I got bullied a lot-- but it was...bearable. Compared to this place, at least." A pause, and then: "What about you?"

"I'm sorry. That must have been so terrible." When Rebecca had been in high school, she had basically stayed with her little group of trustworthy friends, and hadn't been bothered by anyone. She supposed, though, that if she had stayed in school after her plans have been discovered, there would have been taunts and jeers, or possibly nothing. Her classmates probably would have been terrified of her potentially killing them. She smiled darkly at the thought. "No, I didn't have many problems at school." Her face darkened considerably, and not in an amused way. "It was at home where I had problems."
Jason's eyebrows rose. "Curiosity killed the cat, as they say. What sort of problems?"
((Gaaah I'm sorry I feel so out of Jason's character right now. XD))

[Gah it's okay, I'm feeling the same way with Rebecca.]
Rebecca bit her lip, quite obviously troubled with answering the sadist. She liked to not talk about it, but he had proven himself capable of keeping his mouth shut, and she decided that he knew what was okay to repeat and what wasn't. Without realizing it, she began to run her fingers over the cover of the Bible. "My mother," she said simply, at first. After a heavy sigh and allowing her body to go rigid again, she continued. "My mother was a control freak. A control freak heavily influenced by her religion." The hand on the Bible tightened into a fist.
