Adding ebook (non-Kindle) version

So I uploaded my ebook today, in ePub format.

Here's my librarian question: Do I need to add a third entry of the book for this edition? It has a separate ISBN for this version of the ebook.

Thoughts?

Yes, different ebooks have separate editions.

Jason, has that ISBN been used to list/sell the book anywhere or is the ebook only available via Amazon?

The paperback version has an ISBN ending in 08. This paperback has been sold through Amazon (via CreateSpace) and by me at conventions.

The Kindle version has an ISBN ending in 15, and is only available on amazon.com, co.uk, and .de.

The non-Kindle ebook version (meaning .epub) has an ISBN ending in 22 and has - until today - not been listed anywhere. It's currently in review at PubIt, for the Nook.

If it is for sale under that third ISBN, then it should be listed as a third edition on GR under that ISBN.

What does her site say about redistribution?

If the author has not granted permission to redistribute, you cannot assume that you have that permission. You can ask her.

I went to the author's blog and read her posts. She made an issue of how many downloads she had on Smashwords. Not an issue in a negative way. More like that's how she's tracking its popularity, success, etc. So, I would say she's giving it away for free, but she wants it downloaded from Smashwords. I don't know if it's allowed, but I've seen in people's reviews of books that they have links to where the book they're reviewing can be downloaded for free. (Legally at the author's website, Smashwords, Amazon, etc.) She doesn't have that many reviews so if it's okay with GR, you could probably write a review and stick the link in your review.

I've seen the free links for a few of the .5 books. You know, Book 2.5 in a series. Quite a few authors give those .5 novellas/short stories away for free so reviewers will sometimes explain how they can get them.

it could be a part of the author-publisher bargain to download his/her book from the publisher's website for free.
you can put the download link in the "official url" field though.
