@Kishore: do you make your own pasta?"

I normally get those ready made ones but I got a recipe on making my own pasta...tried it for lasagna and it was good :) I also got a recipe for Italian style pizza but I don't have a proper oven for that :(

message 58: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments @ Kishore: too bad about the oven thing, but have you made any other pastas? I make alot of my own and my favorites to make are stuffed pastas ( like ravolie, tortolinie, ect (dont think i spelled those right but....)).

@Anastacia: thats okay, i undestood what you ment.

message 60: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I am partial to lasagna dishes but like you I love them all.

message 61: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments You are right there are veru few foods I don't like.

message 62: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I don't really have one, but I really like key lime pie.

message 63: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Yes, I actually made one just the other day.

i love portabello stuffed raviolli!!!! I must admit my favorite part of pasta is actually making the sauce :)

message 65: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments Ingrid wrote: "ironic:D how was it? good? or do you not prefer lemony flavors?"

i love lemony flavors! mmmmmm

message 66: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments @Ingrid: It was pretty good if I do say so my self and lemon is one of my favorite flavors, probably because it is so versatile in the kitchen

@Kishore: I actually made my motzerella ( the cheese i know it is not spelled right) and portabello raviolli for dinner tonight with a cream sauce. Making the sauce and making the pasta tie for first place in my book because they go hand in hand.

I'm getting hungry....I miss steaks....haven't had them in like forever since I moved to India :(

message 73: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I'm sorry steaks are one of my favorites. Can you even get beef in India? ( i have heard cows are somewhat sacred over there).

message 74: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments well not in the area where I am (I think some places use ox meat instead). But I heard there are some cities with little underground passages and secret codewords where they sell beef.

I miss steaks.....oh the beautiful rare steaks with mashed potatoes and gravy ....sniff

message 75: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I don't do rare, sorry. Do they have chicken, it is my favorite meat to work with in the kitche?

message 76: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments yes they have chicken :)

I live near Delhi so chicken and mutton are very common. They don't really sell pork or beef (you already know the reasons) seafood is sold but i'm very skeptical (I used to live in the Philippines and I know that freshness for seafood is very important)

Chicken is very easy to work with.... you cant really go wrong with chicken :)

I tend to have a more hard time with pork.... I can't really tell when its done or not.

message 78: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments I think i would have a slight issue if they did not have chicken because like i said it is my favorite ( and the rest of my family's too). I always go by the temp. of the pork and wether the juices run clear or not when I stick a fork in it to tell if it is well done or not. It seems to work really well.

message 79: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments hmmmm.... that is good advice :)

I take it you cook for a living? you seem to know so much!

message 80: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments @ Kishore: Thank- you, but I don't cook for a living but I have three major passions, cooking, making pottery, and writting. Pretty much everyone in my family can cook and does and I was taught to cook really young ( always allowed to help in the kitchen). My parents think it is an important skill so they would asign me a night that i would be responsible for dinner ( this stared when I was about 10). So I have alot of experince, that and I am resposible for my meals somedays. What I know comes from experince.

Wow that is amazing! I just pretty much taught myself to cook (i have to admit I know very little) but I do enjoy it when I can, especially when making something that just hits me out of the blue!

Or get a good day job outside of India....that option is always there.

message 84: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments @ Kishore: I'm sorry your stuck in India, but if you ever need a cooking/ baking question answered ask. Do you by chance have an idea when more of your story will be up?

message 85: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Yes, i agree with Ingrid you probably should have a plan B.

message 86: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments I'm working at the moment and writing as a part time :)

message 87: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Okay, that is good :) what do you do?

message 88: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments I'm a product manager at an software company, and you ?

message 89: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Well I have a part time summer job ( i am in high school) working at my local vets office as an technical assistant. What software company?

message 90: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments It's a startup called integrated learning solutions, we make educational software for college students...although I am looking for something better.

message 91: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Neat. Is this an international company or strictly in India?

message 92: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments Ingrid wrote: "nice. i am not really techy so i don't know much about software and.....stuff"

Trust me even I don't know much about software, but IT is the bulk of job opportunities over here so I really didn't have much of a choice.

message 93: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments Well, it's a job and jobs pay the bills as they say. :) May I be nosey and ask how old you are? ( you dont have to answer and i figure you are not in your teens consisering you have a full time job)

message 94: by Kishore (new)

Kishore Daswani (kishoredaswani) | 87 comments I'm an ancient 28 :)

It was only in the past year or so that I decided to try and pursue writing, everything has been self-taught including learning how to craft a story and re-teaching myself the basics of grammar (that is my weakness!)

Don't worry I'm not going to ask you about your age (I have been on the receiving end of many slaps because I asked girls that question)

What do you do?

message 97: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) | 2500 comments @Kishore: That is really neat that you taught yourself to write and your grammer is not bad. You are not ancient, okay you are a good bit older than i am but 28 is not old 60 is old. About the age thing, if i ask someone a question it is always a question i would be willing to answer. Now most people consider it rude to ask how old someone is ( that is why i said you dont have to answer). I dont really care personally; but yes if i were you i probay wouldnt ask a woman her age unless nescarry ( you might get smacked). You are welcome to ask, like i said i dont care age is just a number ( you could even guess you wont insult me if you guess wrong)
What do you want to do? ( somthing you love)

Thanks :)

Well you said you are in highschool..... so if I were to guess I would say you are 17.

And what I would love....more than anything in the world is to be a published author for a living. I know not everyone is going to be like JK Rowling but if I can earn a good deal amount where I can support myself and a family with then I'm more than happy.
