I feel I'm doing quite well as my pile of paperbacks unread is down to a mere 125.

I have 28....I had a massive purge a couple of months ago, and gave away the books I had started several times, and couldn't get into.I also have about 12 on my iPad waiting to be read.

Now I don't feel guilty at all!
must I count? Oie. I'm glad that I still have my eyesight to read and my ears for books on CD. I'm up for returning to childhood when a story would be read (or in my mother's case often created on the spot) to me by others. So enjoyable. The Timeless Counselor: The Best Guide to a Successful Psychic Reading
I'm guessing around 200 DTB, 120 kindle and 25-30ish audio. I read maybe 2 or sometimes 3 a week so I've got at least 3.1/2 years worth! I'm now going to try to only buy electronic versions and if they're not available, then use the library for paper copies.
I have about 30 to 40 including ones on my Kindle. I get glares from my other half when I go to buy more when I have that many left to read!
On my list here, it says 270, but I did vet my books recently.. I think I need to buy some more.. ;0)
I have 36 on my kindle. I never realised how good I was, my family will be shocked!Ian, you need to go shopping!
maybe now the woman will get rid of them now the net knows of it lol and also dont feel as guilty now
assume people would go by car and fill their boots with books...burning books very sad though images of censorship and tyranny
Well done that woman, how could her neighbour do that, the horror of it all!!!I've got 146 listed to read on her But about ten of those are on my PSP so only got 136 actual books so not too many yet. Still going to start keeping an eye on my floors to make sure they're coping (especially as I live in a third floor flat, can't imagine the neighbours below me would be pleased if their ceilings started buckling)

Ian, you need to go shopping!"
56 is probably the most unread books I've ever had since university days. I've never been a great buyer of books that I'm not going to read....now music is another matter - so many tracks, so little time

Fiona, I'd have dropped the books in shock! I have lent a book to my daughter in exchange for one from her so I'm a book up now!
My only regret is that I got into read later on in my life was because I had to try and over come Dyslexic. Know I just love books and reading.I know what you mean Fiona I find it very hard not to come out of Waterstones with a bag full of books. It is even harder when they have things life 3 for 2.
About 20ish. I'm on a Waterstones ban on account of me being skint - can never seem to leave before dropping £30 :/

I have over 80 books from RISI swaps, I also look for bookclub reads on there - sometimes I am sucessful.
Waterstones trained me to buy in 3s, I find I do it even with unstickered books. Also, I usually find my third with a fourth and then need two more!

managed 286 swaps since sept 2008

I think somewhere about the 75 mark, let's say 100 including the Kindle. I've only bought myself a few(if any) new paperbacks since I got the Kindle which is good from a storage perspective! I keep buying childrens books however so not entirely avoiding Waterstones etc. I used to have a music collection issue as well but since Spotify I'm virtually cured!

Swapping is a good idea, I tend to just give my books away to friends or take them in bulk to the local charity shop.I'll definitely look into it :) Thanks for the suggestion Stephen!!

I think my Dad said that they've restricted him to a couple of hours per week or month (or something like that) on the free package.
Spotify free limit is now 10 hours a month - so about 200 tracks. I only use it for sampling new stuff, so it still works for me as I listen to 6 music for my main indie music diet on top of my own ridiculously large collection.

all you pay is postage to mail the book out to the person you have agreed a swap with and its one way to get some books you are after and pass on some you have read in the process
I've got quite a few hehe!My problem is, even though I know there is a stack of books on my bedroom floor, I still end up buying more. I was in a discount book shop recently, and they had an offer on - buy 3 books for a fiver... so I did. Twice. My book stack is looking more like the leaning tower of Pisa everyday!
I really don't know how many books I've got - hundreds, probably between 750 and 1,000. I have several bookcases, but not enough, so there are piles behind the sofa, on the floor and under the bed in the spare bedrooms. My husband says the cracks in the sitting room ceiling are getting worse because of the books, but I think that's just a ploy on his part.I don't spend a great deal on new books, but buy from discount sites/shops, charity shops and swap on Read it Swap it. Just have to have these books coming in!!
