I also have about 12 on my iPad waiting to be read.

Now I don't feel guilty at all!

Ian, you need to go shopping!

and also dont feel as guilty now

burning books very sad though images of censorship and tyranny

I've got 146 listed to read on her But about ten of those are on my PSP so only got 136 actual books so not too many yet. Still going to start keeping an eye on my floors to make sure they're coping (especially as I live in a third floor flat, can't imagine the neighbours below me would be pleased if their ceilings started buckling)

56 is probably the most unread books I've ever had since university days. I've never been a great buyer of books that I'm not going to read....now music is another matter - so many tracks, so little time

well never can enough books as they say :)

I know what you mean Fiona I find it very hard not to come out of Waterstones with a bag full of books. It is even harder when they have things life 3 for 2.

I think nothing much will change with waterstones offer wise with new ownership subject to the pensions regulator as they have a tough climate with online and ebooks sales

do you ever use RISI to get newer books into your house I do

I have over 80 books from RISI swaps, I also look for bookclub reads on there - sometimes I am sucessful.

managed 286 swaps since sept 2008

yes but you get newer books for your book collection at fraction of the price and also recycling books as well

if you wanted to reduce your pile better use bookmooch instead

wasn't too impressed with site though

with me swapping if I buy a book I try not to crease the spine at all and sometimes people think that I havent read the book as it looks in good condition

I used to have a music collection issue as well but since Spotify I'm virtually cured!

until they start to charge which will be soon

I'll definitely look into it :) Thanks for the suggestion Stephen!!

Yes, well it probably isn't sustainable without charging - I already upgraded to the Spotify Unlimited so I can skip the adverts. I think my Dad said that they've restricted him to a couple of hours per week or month (or something like that) on the free package.
Spotify free limit is now 10 hours a month - so about 200 tracks. I only use it for sampling new stuff, so it still works for me as I listen to 6 music for my main indie music diet on top of my own ridiculously large collection.

try www.last.fm thats free too

I'll definitely look into it :) Thanks for the suggestion Stephen!!"
all you pay is postage to mail the book out to the person you have agreed a swap with and its one way to get some books you are after and pass on some you have read in the process

My problem is, even though I know there is a stack of books on my bedroom floor, I still end up buying more. I was in a discount book shop recently, and they had an offer on - buy 3 books for a fiver... so I did. Twice. My book stack is looking more like the leaning tower of Pisa everyday!
