I've realised I forgot to pack The Hunger Games and so now it's in another country to me. Damnation. :(

Oh well. I'll read it when I get back.

Tara - I just finished the series and all I can say is WOW! I loved it - I actually gave Mockingjay a 5 star rating which I almost never do.

I've been surprised by how many people didn't like Mockingjay - to me it was the best one. Tragic but brilliant. Which was your favourite?

I finished reading Hunger Games yesterday evening and oh my, was I speechless! My friends have been telling me to read it but with my never-ending list of books to read in progress, I was having a hard time fitting it in my list. Finally, I just decided to start and finish it yesterday (I am just a tad bit fast at reading :p). It was amaazzingg and well worth my time! I started the first couple of chapters of the second one, Catching Fire, last night and so far, so good!

Ellen Goodlett (egoodlett) | 1 comments Not gonna lie, Hunger Games was my favorite of the trilogy! I felt like Catching Fire was the same book over again, and while Mockingjay had some good moments and interesting messages, in the end, I didn't feel it was anything but an extension of HG. It just carried the same themes and messages from HG to an extreme, in MJ. I wasn't wowed by it.
But, I loooooved the Hunger Games. I felt like that book was PERFECTLY plotted and paced. I could not stop reading until I finished!! I read it for a conference way back before it hit the best-seller lists, and I immediately forced everyone I knew to read it, haha...

Char (CharmaineElaine) I liked Catching Fire the best. I won't lie it's because I liked what-his-name. (view spoiler) I hated Mocking Jay with a passion and The Hunger Games I'm pretty neutral about.

That's interesting - I really enjoyed the Hunger Games and Catching Fire, but for me it was Mockingjay that knocked my socks off. I do agree that the Hunger Games was perfectly plotted and paced though - I couldn't put it down at all.

Yes, that is true :)

Tara Green I loved this book as well as the other two in the series. The characters are exciting and easy to get attached to. The imagery is perfect, felt like I was watching it all take place instead of just reading the words!

Robin wrote: "I read this book a while back. I thought that it was a good book, but it was a very slow read for me until they actually got to the game. Then it was much faster."

I have heard a few people say that and I didn't expect there to be that much lead-in to the actual game but I liked the way it built the suspense up and built up a picture of Panem.

Abbie (wildflower_abz) | 4 comments I ADORED this trilogy, took me 3 days to read them all. Was absolutely gripped and LOVED ALL the characters in the book! ((Except president snow haha)) and the whole post-apocalyptic concept n how humans had developed into districts and the capitol and all the control over resources...loved it. I loved the whole dry n sarcastic sense of humour Katniss had-made me lol at points. I bawled my eyes out on the last book, towards the end, where she goes back to district 12 and writes in a book all the memories she doesnt ever wanna forget! *sniff*. I LOVE Peeta <3 ... So happy to have discovered these books, ill read them again and again :))

I loved the mixture of gripping moments, and clever moments, the gritty moments, the tender and touching moments. Had a bit of everything and the right amounts of it all <3

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I really enjoyed this book. I thought the movie could have been better though. :/

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 611 comments I'm with Margaret... Book was great, movie could have been better.
