Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments or is that the same as a geek??

message 153: by C.L. (new)

C.L. Back to dictionary.com again (I'm going to get a reptuation here)
We'll stick with the noun definition
freak
–noun
1. any abnormal phenomenon or product or unusual object; anomaly; aberration.
2. a person or animal on exhibition as an example of a strange deviation from nature; monster.
3. a sudden and apparently causeless change or turn of events, the mind, etc.; an apparently capricious notion, occurrence, etc.: That kind of sudden storm is a freak.

C.L. Cambria wrote: "how was Ozzy Osbourne a geek??? maybe i should re-read the definitions above."

Well he was known to bite off the heads of doves and bats in his act, so technically that would make him a geek.

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Well, thank you dictionary maven-I mean C.L.
LOL.
Next time i need to know something I am hunting you down!

I have been wondering where you were! :-) I figured you and Amy were just busy editing... Then my first thought when I got home tonight & saw all these posts was that someone took a night off...LOL...

message 157: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments We took the kids to see Cars 2 tonight. First, we tried to go at 4PM (matinee, the kids had just napped, etc.), and it sold out right before we got there...(wah, wah, wah) So we bought tickets for the 7PM show and then had to waste a few hours (which killed me b/c I didn't bring my Kindle or anything). I had to get hot and sweaty playing mini golf...
I just don't understand why we always end up next to the people in the theater who are total...butt-heads... ;-) I don't know what people expect small children to do confined in a small, dark space for two hours. Obviously, they aren't expecting actual CHILDREN to attend a children's movie??? I dunno...
So, the movie was really cute, and I did enjoy myself for the most part. ;-) I'll have a review up for it soon...

I need to get back to editing, sorry, Cambria, I have been slacking a bit!!

That book looks like a Warewolf lover's good time. There are a few furry fans in this group, hopefully, they will go check that out!

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments Honestly, if it isn't wetsuits and cheese it's chicken heads. What I want to know is
a) don't the feathers tickle and
b) doesn't it peck your tongue?

Seems like an odd way to amuse yourself to me...
Anyhow just dropping by to say Argh house-moving! Boxes everywhere! Obstacle course!

Ah well back to work (booooooooooooo and hiss) - back later.

message 170: by C.L. (new)

C.L. Need to add my sympathies as well Cambria. I picked up a malware last year and that was trouble enough. It took me two days and lots of help from my techie friends to get rid of the thing. Fortunately none of my personal info was compromised, and I am so sorry it happened to you. Why some people think it's funny to make other people miserable I will never understand.

message 171: by J.A. (new)

Poor Cambria! Sounds like a total nightmare! Hope it all gets sorted out soon...

How about this from dictionary.com. I think they all fit pretty well.

obnoxious
–adjective
1. highly objectionable or offensive; odious: obnoxious behavior.
2. annoying or objectionable due to being a showoff or attracting undue attention to oneself: an obnoxious little brat.
3. Archaic . exposed or liable to harm, evil, or anything objectionable.

message 178: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments I think something from the urban dictionary might prove useful...

@Cambria re: book one - Whoop whoop!!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!!

message 179: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Shhhh... Don't tell my husband, but my kids have talked me into getting a cat/kitten...I think... I probably should get one, since I already ordered a fancy litter box and stuff from Amazon...LOL... Hopefully he doesn't kill me... *biting nails*

We're supposed to go look at one tomorrow. A cute little gray and white girl. I think I want to name her Sookie...but I might have a little contest to see what creative things we can come up with ;-)!

message 180: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments Sookie is a *great* name for a cat though...

And btw may I say, I'm busy for what, four days and when I get back I find Cassie has invented a chicken called Charlotte and Cambria and Amy have hit the airwaves?! Jeez, can't turn my back on you guys for 5 mins, can i?

message 181: by Phil (new)

Phil Cantrill | 313 comments Cassie, there's no point in giving a cat a name. They never come when they're called, unless you've opened a can of cat food, then you don't need to call.

Get a poodle.

message 182: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Dad :-) - I just need another name to yell when she does something bad ;-)... She's trying to figure out what kind of hell she is in right now...LOL... I just have gotten the kids to stop pulling her in every direction!! And our poor dog is just beside himself...

JA - I have missed you so!!!!!!!!!!!

message 183: by Amy Eye (new)

Amy Eye | 1841 comments Mod
JA - you never know what we crazy ladies are gonna do when we aren't being supervised!! At least we know how to have a good time! And it really was fun, I can't wait to do it again!! Too bad the time difference is so great or you would be able to participate in the show to JA!!

And cats make great seat warmers...they always make sure to jump in the best seats as soon as you vacate them, and then they never want to relinquish the spot!!

message 184: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Well, as long as I keep the neurotic dog away, Sookie seems to be making herself quite at home ;-). She has found "the" chair--the oldest but most comfortable chair (fantastic for reading) that I inherited from my grandmother, who probably bought it in the 60's!! She is keeping it warm as I type! ;-)

Lmao. No poodles though get a bull dog!!!

message 188: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Bulldogs are so awesome!!!!
Never had one or a poodle. I have a golden retriever/chow mix and I grew up with several labs and a Saint Bernard. We are about to embark on a doggie adventure....with a tiny puppy.
I am getting my daughter a hybrid yorkie/chiuahau
it is super cute and soooo tiny. We get it in almost 3 weeks when it will be exactly 8 weeks old. She's only 4 weeks now. She fits in the palm of my hand....
i'm almost scared i will break her!

message 189: by C.S. Splitter (last edited Jul 01, 2011 05:54PM) (new)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments ROFL, we got a chihuahua about a year and a half ago. GREAT dogs if you treat them like dogs. Both yorkies and chi's are really smart.

I know all about the breakage fear but they are REALLY good at not getting stepped on. Ours insists on sleeping between my wife and me and I used to worry about rolling over and smothering her lol (the chihuahua, not the wife...).

Really though, you have to keep them busy and definitely get them out with other people and dogs often because chi's can get possessive of one person.

You are in for so much fun!

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments i have heard they attached to one person....that's interesting. We do plan to socialize her well and early on....
my friend has a chi and she loves it...she also has to big labs and amazingly the little one never gets stepped on....

I had a bulldog named Winston that we rescued. He was used a fighting dog. The poor guy had no teeth and had been beaten so bad that his eyelids were inverted and he was blind because his eyelashes scratched his eyes so much. But he was a very fun dog and we LOVED the three years we had him. They are very appropriately named though, they are extremely bull headed at times!!

message 192: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (greeneyez2012) Oh my how horrible for him. I swear I hate people and think there should be the same repercussions for animal abuse like child abuse and no one should be allowed a pet with out a background check and home visits like adoption. I thank you for rescuing that precious little guy.

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Well, Sookie managed to wake me up this morning around 5:45AM playing with my feet...then she spilled the drink I had by my bed...and THEN she peed on me!!!!!

The worst part of all that was that I didn't go to sleep until after 4AM and I couldn't go back to sleep afterward! :-(
