Juliet I was just wondering if anyone cried at these books like I did, don't be embarassed to admit it! If so,at what parts?
I cried when Dobby, Fred, Dumbledore, and Hedwig died, and I think I screamed(in happiness) when Harry kissed Ginny for the first time.

Kristen haha, Like a baby! Mostly when Sirius dies, but yes, also Doby, Fred, Dumbledore, Cedric, Lupin...
Oh and also at the end when Harry goes to face Voldemort.

Tinker bell I cried when cedric. dobby and fred died

I teared up when dobby did in the movie.... But I'm not one to cry over books or movies

message 5: by Jen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jen Honestly I don't cry much during books, but the epilogue (YES I liked the epilogue so there) did make me misty eyed, as did of course the very end when Harry at last defeated Voldemort.

Tinker bell I did too

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah.... Everyone saw that coming!

My favorite part is the part about snape.... I swear if they don't show his past I will be so mad!!!

Tinker bell Ohh that part was cool

Kate I think they'll show his past.

It's a crucial part to the entire series. It shows why Snape behaved how he did and why he did what he did.

They can't NOT show it.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I know.... I'm worried that all the last part is gonna be is like the fight.... There is so much more though!!!

Tinker bell In the last movie did they show snape's patronis? while he was with dumbldore

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Ummm.... I'm drawing a blank.... But I don't think so honestly....

Tinker bell Umm that was an important part too

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

U would have to ask someone else..... Ur not talking about part one in the woods though r u......

Tinker bell No i think there is a part in the 6th book but not sure where

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah.... But I think dumbeldore just dies.... I haven't seen that movie in a while....

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

They didnt show snapes patronus when he was with dumbledore.

And I cried at just about every death, even Moody's, and Screamed ' Oh HECK NO!' I was an emotional wreck while reading hte last book, and I tend to skip over Sirius' death when I read the 5th book over and over

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah.... So many people I liked who died!!!

Rachel I was crying for the majority of the book! All of the deaths were sad, but I was also crying just because I knew it was the last book and it was going to be the last time I read a Harry Potter book for the first time. However, the deaths of Mad-Eye Moody and Hedwig were so sudden and sort of skimmed over that it was hard to get too upset. I was pretty devastated about Hedwig once it had sunk in, but Mad-Eye's death wasn't focused on all that much so I wasn't as upset about that as others. Fred's death was definitely one of the saddest :(

And the part when Hagrid is carrying Harry out of the Forbidden Forest! That was one of the most upsetting parts for me, even though you know Harry's not dead. Just the idea of everyone thinking he was dead was upsetting. And of course the epilogue too.

Mad-Eye's comments in the movie were hilarious!!!!!!!

I know....... so touching!

I forgot about Cedric, I loved him!

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah... His death was so tragic!!!! I hated how that had to happen and poor cho!!!

Heather I cried for Hedwig, Dobby, Fred and Snape's deaths. I didn't cry over Sirius... I sort of feel bad about that. I didn't cry over Lupin and Tonks' deaths. I got angry instead. (I hate when author's kill important - or even semi-important characters "off-camera". It feels like cheating to me.)

Did anyone else notice that EVERY character she introduced from that generation - no matter how insignificant - died? Characters older than that (like Ron's parents and Neville's) were fine. But the ones from that particular year all died.

not me I HATE CHO!!!!!!but I love Ced!

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) i literally sobbed murderously when snape died. i threw the book against the wall and locked myself in the room for 6 hours.

I could picture that!

Were Neville's parents older? I always just assumed they were about the same age group as Harry's...

But that's probably just because the only ones introduced from that time were all so significant to the plot. And they all fought against Voldemort(with the exception of wormtail, but he basically killed himself).

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) i still cry myself to sleep to this day even though i last read the dh months ago

Juliet oooh, I get that way when I think of Cedric's death, and Fred's!

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) ugh i hate cedric but fred's was pretty sad. i also cried at tonks and lupin's death because those are my second fav charries.

Lady LMFAO some people get way to into books...its not real its not really worth crying over.

Alipz i didnt cry reading the book..but this book is really awesome..i mean there are parts where i nearly cried myself..but then..i read the book at school..so crying isnt cool in front of the whole class..but still, the part where many of potter's friends died..it is very2 sad..and it's worth breaking into tears..

Juliet Darkrose wrote: "LMFAO some people get way to into books...its not real its not really worth crying over."

dont mock me!(jk!) I don't really get emotional over anything but some books really get to me, especially when those books are the genius of Harry Potter. Also, who are you to judge someone if they cry or not? Some people are more sensitive than others and it's not your job to laugh at them.

message 48: by Tas (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tas le Fay From the amountn of *crying* i do when reading HP books (yes, i STILL do it), especially Deathly Hallows, one would siriusly doubt the fact that i am not the crying sort! But honestly, it's impossible not to cry when characters so close to your heart and so embedded in your life dies. I remember i almost couldn't go on reading when Dumbledore and Dobby died. It was unbearably painful! but i sometimes cry in happy moments too, like the epilogue and when Harry feels so grateful when Hermione and Ron confirms they are going with him.

Liane after reading the last book of the HP series, it made me cry a bit and experienced some hp withdrawal like someone who's addicted to something. :(

deep in my heart i know there will never be another harry potter. :'( too bad it ended......

Heather Darkrose wrote: "LMFAO some people get way to into books...its not real its not really worth crying over."
The way I figure it, if someone can cry/become frightened/etc. while watching a movie, they have every right to feel the same range of emotions while reading. After all, books - if they're doing their job - separate the reader from reality for the time while they are reading. A good writer can transport a reader to a different world.
