Melodrama and babies generally. But when she messes one up they are not just so so but truly bombs. ;-) Still I will keep looking for the gems.
I just started and finished (in one day) Lynn Raye Haris "Strangers in the Desert"..I literally could not put it down. A definite 5 star read. What a story. I also just finished Annie West's the Savakis Merger....another 5 star
Hello, im new to the group. I stumbled across HP about 4 years ago at the beginning of college and have been a faithfull reader since. Currently I am reading Monarch of the Sands...by Sharon Kendrick
Also, I like reading books that have the plot line of friends to more....so if you have any recommendations please let me know!

I almost stopped reading her work after one that I just could not even will myself to get through. But when she does get it right...I end up LOVING the story. Although the heroine could have spoken up more, I enjoyed The Pregnancy Shock although the mother got annoying after awhile.
BFF to more theme : - Sarah Mayberry - Her best friend (On Lulu's hate list LOL)
- Kim Lawrence - Accidental baby
- Amanda Carpenter - Waking up

That book make Lulu oh so ornery!
BFFs to lovers (one of my favorite themes):
A Night with the Society Playboy (Nights of Passion, #3).
Innocent on Her Wedding Night: Ruthless
The Night Of The Wedding (Do Not Disturb) (this one could have been developed more)
Mission: Makeover (this one's a doozy- BFFs to lovers, unrequited love by hero, make-over).

It might be a glitch with your browser, Lynne. Sometimes the graphics don't come through with a slower connection or a quirky browser. Try refreshing your screen. Hit F5.

But im a sucker for the whole "i've always been in love with you and your personality" thing, and she ties that in too. I would recommend the book though. Its a really sweet book in which they are not supposed to be together because hes the ruler of a far away country. But they end up not being able to stay away from each other. The only thing that annoyed me slightly was that the hero is old-fashioned in his thinking. In his country women do not attend university or even drive!
Its a good read though!!!! Hope you read it and let me know what you think!!

I've read A Night with the Society Playboy too!!! I really liked the history between the two characters. Also its always interesting when the heroine is smart, I get so tired of the TSTL heroines that act like they've never been around a guy before!

Smart heroines are definitely in short supply in HP-Landia. More smart heroines, please!

There is a Sheikh in this book right?

I really liked this one...not that you asked me, but I didn't think he wasn't too bad. I thought SK did a good job showing how arrogant a ruler from such a male oriented society would be...he was probably even a little less arrogant then I would have expected.
I did read Monarch of the Sands based on everyone's comments and for the most part, I really did like it. However, something about Zahid felt like plastic. He left me a bit cold....He was just too self centered...and I couldn't quite buy into the HE. It felt so very rushed. I didn't quite absorb his change of feelings before the book finished... However, if you like the Sheik stories, I highly recommend.....Tamed: The Barbarian King, by Jennie Lucas, For Duty's Sake and The Sheikh's Bartered Bride, both by Lucy Monroe, and my very favorite, Strangers in the Desert by Lynne Raye Harris...

Welcome Cassie, I like this one but givwee it 3 and 1/2 stars. The heroine did get him to change some of his thinking. He promises to have only one wife and I believe she will leave him if he changes his mind. I also think she will help him to move the country into the new age.
I finished Stranger at the Door by Laura Abbott and enjoyed it but did have to use a few tissues. I was angry with the hero at times and did have problems with the heroine acceptance of the hero's son born to another woman while he waas married to the heroine. She really was an exceptional lady.

I'm into re-reading Laurey Bright aka Daphne Clair. She wrote 2 books, A Perfect Marriage and Shadowing Shahna, two favs of mine! I love her writing, I'm just thinking about hunting her books, not so easy to find.
Recently finished a good number of books.Angry Desire (Sins, #6)and I it 4 stars. A bride -to- be runs away on the day of the wedding to a cousin in in Italy. The groom -to- be finds her and is jealous of the cousin because he thinks they have a relationship. A few twists with curves until we get the reason she runs away. The Determined Virgin 3 stars. Deals with fear of men, Dr. molestion, and how the heroine overcomes the fear as she interacts with her new suitor.
Wife to a Stranger 4 stars and very good reading. Heroine suffering from amnesia lends misunderstanding and action and she tries to remember her husband. Throw in an identical twin and you have a mystery that the husband is trying to solve as the reader sees him looking at the problems of his marriage.
[[book:The Marriage Debt|3018623] 4 1/2 stars. A great great book about misunderstandings, miscarriage, and a heroine with an interesting job that cause a separation. In-laws, the other man and other woman with steamy scenes between the H and h makes a book for the keeper shelf.
I just finished
. If you like friends-to-lover or vacation fling romances, I highly recommend it. (And even though it's a Blaze, I don't think it's much "spicer" than most HPs.)

Lululemon wrote: "I love, love, love friends to lovers!"It's one of my favorites, too, along with vacation flings! I wish there were more HPs with these trope, but they seem to be more common in Blaze.
I haven't read an Emma Darcy since you wonderful ladies found the book I was looking for last year (Marriage Meltdown, so it was time to read her newest one.
I'm one chapter in, and I think I am over the secret baby plot storyline. It used to amuse me, now it's just overdone.
Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Yeah, Mistress of the Groom is especially a favorite of mine by SN. I also love Reckless Conduct. I wish she wrote books more frequently. Ive also read Reckless Conduct and its one of my fav HP :) I would love to read more bks like reckless conduct! Rec any??
Oh ive also read Carole Mortimer A Past Revenge and it was very good! I love the fact h planned revenge and actually went through instead of the usual weak doormat h out there that dont come through! I loved the h in past revenge but after reading that book I dont want to go back to pathetic h in so many HPs again!! Heeellllppp!

Malika, I can't think of too many books like Susan Napier's style. Her books feel very unique for HPs. I wish she wrote more!

Well, you might like Untamed Italian, Blackmailed Innocent by Jacqueline Baird for the h having the upper hand. It was awesome to see a heroine was more or less disinterested in the hero for most of the book! It gave me a sadistic joy to see this turnaround for once!

You might like The Sicilian's Innocent Mistress by Carole Mortimer.
I just finished

Just finished Married to a Mistress, gave it 5 stars coz their one-upping each other made me laugh. Will start His Virgin Acquisition later today/tonight.

Which book was that, Vashti?
HVA was her first book. I was impressed, even though I thought the hero was a bit too jerky. Maisey Yates' husband posted a comment on my blog that my review had made her happy. I was glad to give a new author some encouragement.

I am not sure of the name but the guy was Russian and he was a widower and still hung over on his dead wife who he had loved so much.He was a jewrely designer and she worked for him.Just did not buy into their romance. At the end of the book her gave her a necklace that he was making for his now dead wife as an anniversary[?]gift with her fav flowers ,but he never completed it because she died.He finished it and gave it to the h .Sorry, but call me selfish, but if my husband gave me a gift that he was ggoing to gave his 1st wife and themn winds up giving it to me,he might as well just not give it to me.He also carried this necklace unfinished close to his heart.

I have such a hard time with Lynne Graham...she is so hit/miss for me ...She has great story lines that can grab you, but she tends to overdue the alpha in her heros and they come off very abusive with spineless heroines that can't/won't defend themselves. Sometimes she can get it right and you get a glimmer of what is beneath all the bluster and then she hits a home run. But she has become an author, I tend to stay away from. I just don't like the characters she draws....and as a woman, I think she does us all a huge injustice.
