Steamywindows♥♫ (steamywindows) | 10 comments Hey all, I adjust thought I would jump in and say I am currently reading an HQ titled Waking Up Married. I haven't read any thing by this author yet, but it is enjoyable so far... Hope those of you under the weather are feeling better?

Hi Steamy! I was glad they offered Waking Up Married as a free Kindle read, although I haven't had a chance to read it. Glad you're enjoying it.

I'm not a lot better, but not worse, so that's good!

Well just don't overdo things once you start to feel better. Lots of flu or flu like illnesses circulating this year....

You're right, Steamy. I think this is a sign that I haven't been taking care of myself and resting. I was sick back in November too. I'm going to focus on healing and chilling out.

I did an HP binge this past weekend, and it was very refreshing. I had to force myself to stop and read some other books. All brought about by rearranging my mountain of books!

Wayne Jordan (wayne_jordan) | 16 comments Just wanted the Presents readers/fans here know that this month on the Harlequin.com website site we are spotlighting Harlequin Presents and several of the authors are dropping by. message 762: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I haven been around for a while, but I felt compelled to post today. I've just finished The Fallen Greek Bride: At the Greek Boss's Bidding by Jane Porter. Wow! What an explosive, emotional book. I must say that I was quite taken by surprise about how frank the the sex scenes were. The dialogue etc. is very adult for a Mills & Boon. I had to check the cover a couple of times just to make sure I was actually reading a Harlequin! My Mom, who is 71, also enjoyed it tremendously. Mom, you can't read this stuff!

So, a full on recommendation.

Next up is A Scandal, a Secret, a Baby\Marriage Scandal, Showbiz Baby! by Sharon Kendrick. Looks good!

Asteropê (21tauri) | 82 comments I've been reading the Royal Brides series by Lucy Monroe as part of my challenge. I'm on book 8 right now:
Hired The Sheikh's Secretary Mistress (Royal Brides, #8) by Lucy Monroe
I like the series and I think Lucy Monroe is my of my favorite Presents writers. I like a lot of her stuff.

message 765: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 24 comments I'm reading At His Majesty's Request by Maisey Yates . I had read A Royal World Apart by Maisey Yates and really liked it so I've picked up a few books by Maisey Yates.

I have to agree that Lucy Monroe used to write really good books. The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain is one of her best. But I have to say, her newer fare are just incredibly disappointing. She also changed her writing style and now writes more in "street language," which I find kind of off-putting. Her stories no longer have that drama that grips you. Now they're just not worth my time or money. She made my "authors to avoid" list starting with her more recent books.

message 767: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 24 comments I just finished At His Majesty's Request by Maisey Yates a few days ago and really loved it. I didn't much like the heroine at first, but by the end I had really warmed up to her.

Huh. I didn't really notice that. I've been reading mostly here older stuff, so maybe that's why I haven't caught the change. (Yeah, I looked I've been reading her older stuff). Though I'm not sure what you mean by "street language," do you mean slang or something else?
(any examples?). I'm just curious!

Asteropê, if you turn to page 14 of this thread (starting with message 653) you will see an example of this. In one of her latest books (I forget exactly which one but a 2013 release), the hero literally replies "don't be an a**" to someone. That kind of language could work in a different type of book, but that just doesn't work for me in a Harlequin Presents.

message 770: by Ruchi (new)

Ruchi Vasudeva | 24 comments I'm reading Marriage with Benefits by Kat Cantrell. Interesting premise, the heroine works for a women's shelter.

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 87 comments I wasn't quite sure where the best place to share that Harlequin.com has a new free Harlequin Presents weekly online read, A Wedding at Ruby Lake. Every Monday a new chapter is available until the story is completed. The author of this free read is Jennifer Hayward whose debut HP is available now, The Divorce Party.

Check out the free read and discover if you like her style!

I created a thread for Harlequin announcements:

You can post any release information here, Harlequin Books.

message 780: by Harlequin Books (new)

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 87 comments Thank you, Lady Danielle! I hope to see many announcements over there from everyone.

You're welcome Christine. I know I love to get a sample of a new author's style so that I know where to put their debut book in my TBR list. "sigh" So many books, not near enough time in the day to read them all, but I do try to read new authors right away. I'm always searching for a new favorite/keeper author~ Kim S.

As for what HQN I'm currently reading? It is The Billionaire's Trophy by Lynne Graham.

Jen - Reviews | 159 comments Hey Sunshine, couldn't agree more. Sarah Morgan is fabulous. I've read both the Ferrara brothers but Santo was my favourite!
I'm currently reading her latest book - Lost to the Desert Warrior.

message 786: by Sudakshina (new)

Sudakshina Santo is my favorite too. Though Christiano wasn't bad either. But Santo was one of those dark brooding Heroes, you just can't resist. Has anybody read The Sultan's Choice by Abby Green?

The Sultan's Choice

Sudakshina Jennie, please read The Sultan's Choice. It was so good I couldn't put the book down. The hero was delicious. I usually don't like Sheikh romance but this one was too good. The chemistry between the hero and the heroine was amazing. For the first time, I read about a HP hero whose only aim in life wasn't bedding women. Sadiq is definitely one of my favorite heroes. I really loved the book. Highly recommended.

P.S Just downloaded Lost To The Desert Warrior. Can't wait to read it. :)

Hey Sunshine, will start it today. Can't leave it any longer with praise like yours. I think you'll like Lost as the sheikh is similar to what you describe in Sultans Choice. He's devoted and honourable. I'll look out for your review!

Sudakshina Jennie, I have started reading Lost to the Desert Warrior. I love Raz. He is such a wonderful guy. The gradual blooming of romance between Layla and Raz reminds me of a verse I read some years ago. This is the English translation of this wonderful verse.

"Last night your faded memory came to me
As in the wilderness spring comes quietly,
As, slowly, in the desert, moves the breeze,
As, to a sick man, without cause, comes peace."

message 794: by Jen - Reviews (new)

Jen - Reviews | 159 comments Oh my God! I almost cried reading the verse you sent Sunshine! thanks so much. Glad you are enjoying Raz and Layla. They are both extremely loveable characters. I haven't started The Sultans Choice yet. I'm checking to see where it is on my computer. I know it's not on my kindle. Let you know when I find it.
