Hi Steamy! I was glad they offered Waking Up Married as a free Kindle read, although I haven't had a chance to read it. Glad you're enjoying it.
I'm not a lot better, but not worse, so that's good!

Well just don't overdo things once you start to feel better. Lots of flu or flu like illnesses circulating this year....

You're right, Steamy. I think this is a sign that I haven't been taking care of myself and resting. I was sick back in November too. I'm going to focus on healing and chilling out.

I did an HP binge this past weekend, and it was very refreshing. I had to force myself to stop and read some other books. All brought about by rearranging my mountain of books!

So, a full on recommendation.
Next up is A Scandal, a Secret, a Baby\Marriage Scandal, Showbiz Baby! by Sharon Kendrick. Looks good!

I like the series and I think Lucy Monroe is my of my favorite Presents writers. I like a lot of her stuff.

I have to agree that Lucy Monroe used to write really good books. The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain is one of her best. But I have to say, her newer fare are just incredibly disappointing. She also changed her writing style and now writes more in "street language," which I find kind of off-putting. Her stories no longer have that drama that grips you. Now they're just not worth my time or money. She made my "authors to avoid" list starting with her more recent books.

Huh. I didn't really notice that. I've been reading mostly here older stuff, so maybe that's why I haven't caught the change. (Yeah, I looked I've been reading her older stuff). Though I'm not sure what you mean by "street language," do you mean slang or something else?
(any examples?). I'm just curious!

Asteropê, if you turn to page 14 of this thread (starting with message 653) you will see an example of this. In one of her latest books (I forget exactly which one but a 2013 release), the hero literally replies "don't be an a**" to someone. That kind of language could work in a different type of book, but that just doesn't work for me in a Harlequin Presents.

You're welcome Christine. I know I love to get a sample of a new author's style so that I know where to put their debut book in my TBR list. "sigh" So many books, not near enough time in the day to read them all, but I do try to read new authors right away. I'm always searching for a new favorite/keeper author~ Kim S.
As for what HQN I'm currently reading? It is The Billionaire's Trophy by Lynne Graham.

The Forbidden Ferrara
And now I am reading the first book in the series, Once a Ferrara Wife. Love Sara Morgan.
Once a Ferrara Wife...

I'm currently reading her latest book - Lost to the Desert Warrior.

The Sultan's Choice

P.S Just downloaded Lost To The Desert Warrior. Can't wait to read it. :)

Hey Sunshine, will start it today. Can't leave it any longer with praise like yours. I think you'll like Lost as the sheikh is similar to what you describe in Sultans Choice. He's devoted and honourable. I'll look out for your review!

Gonna read it .

"Last night your faded memory came to me
As in the wilderness spring comes quietly,
As, slowly, in the desert, moves the breeze,
As, to a sick man, without cause, comes peace."

Me too Melanie, I just bought it

Thanks for the offer!! It's already on my Kindle =)
