Leona...it was the one by Michelle Reid The Dark Side of Desire ... other than that it was a good book...well written and great chemistry between the hero and the heroine. That part just threw me off.

Interesting I don't recall the hitting in that book, but I agree with you, it is a major turn off....

The Savakis Merger is one of my all time favorites by AW....

Kate (kateperegrinate) I just started Bargain in Bronze (Flirting To Win, #1) by Natalie Anderson by HP author Natalie Anderson. It's a ebook novella published by Entangled Publishing (not HP), but I'm enjoying it. It's the first of three Olympic-themed novellas. It's currently 99¢ on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Bargain-Bronze-...

I've just put two of her books in my to be read pile. Hopefully I can start on them tomorrow. Prince of Scandal I have heard great things about her writing and can't wait to start this one. Do you have any suggestions for her books?

message 607: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) My favorite Annie West is Protected by the Prince: The Weight of the Crown. Although I have to admit she's not one of my highest rated authors -- her books usually average around 3.5 stars for me.

Romance Lover (demetrahp) | 88 comments I just finished Forbidden The Sheikh's Virgin by Trish Morey which was great, especially the last third of the book. 4 stars. I'll start next the forth and last book of the series Scandal His Majesty's Love-Child by Annie West by Annie West.

Aruana | 248 comments Okay, I've just finished A Tainted Beauty by Sharon Kendrick by Sharon Kendrick. She is a very hit and miss author for me. She's written some awful books, but wow, this one ..... fantastic. I actually cried. Ciro was an incredible hero and there was a moment where I wanted to slap him(double standards!), but he redeemed himself. Loved Lily. A 5 star for me.

I love enjoyed all Annie West's books. I think your favorite is my least favorite by her, Kate. I just read Protected by the Prince on Friday and I liked Prince of Scandal much more.

I just finished that book!! I actually liked it. I thought the beginning was well written and witty that it captured me from the first paragraph. Im not really into the tortured hero thing, but this one I found I could not put it down. The only down side would be the insecurity of the heroine. I understand being hurt in the past, but it felt like she was lying to herself about things plain as day! I also read the other book connected with it Prince of Scandal . I liked this book as well especially the heroine and the way she stood up the the hero. I like the strong heroines, they even out those really overbearing masculine men...that I still can't get enough of. Oh ladies, i've been having an Annie West day!! On to another one of her books The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife (In the Greek Tycoon's Bed)

message 618: by Leona (new)

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments I just finished Coming Home 2 stars..not one of my favorites by this author

Knight's Possession by Carole Mortimer....4 stars...really really enjoyed this story. A nice twist where the hero is kind, shows his love ...and the heroine is the one that has to work through her traumatic past. A nice change of pace and very well done.

This was excellent. Finished it in one sitting. I really like Russian heroes. The heroine was great. Not a shrinking violet. And it was hot! The chemistry was sizzling. I love to read about Russia, post Cold War and the "new" rich.

Highly recommended.

Virginia (goodreadscomginny) | 264 comments Finished After The Loving and give it 5*. Loved it At times I wanted to give a raspberry to the hero. He had the nerve to tell his daughtr that men did not marry the women they they dated and slept with. I would like a copy of this one. I read it on Scribd but do not know how to download. What else is new?

That is one of my top favorites though in my mind I have made changes that are not all ways the same each time I read it. The change that usually remain the same is making him leave, at least for a time. I do think he cheated because he spent too much time with the other woman. Also why did his employees know he was married? Supposedly he wore a thin wedding band that matched hers. The OW must have known he was married. Did he tell her not to call his house before or after he broe up with her? I wish the author would tie up the loose ends. I hate it when there can be too much speculation. I still love the book!

She doesn't write sex scenes in her books, I think, right? I had read some of her books 5-6 years ago, they were good reads but something was missing in the sex element.

Can someone explain how Scribd works for me? Can you download the books to your kindle? Are the books you buy there legal? You can pm me if you like to keep the thread on topic.

Jacqueline...Scribd is a great way to get access to a lot of reading material..not just Hp's, but engineering documents, legal documents, books, etc. How it works is you can read anything on your system...but if you want to download it, you need to become a member.

The question if it is legal, depends on the document you are reading and if it is violating copywriter laws. In some instances, based on time, copyright no longer exists. Scribd makes it clear that they do not police copyright, that responsibility rests with the user.

But if you just read it from your computer, I don't see how you are violating anything..It is similar to a library.

I am glad to know that you like the older harlequins as I do. Lynne Graham and other favorite authors have been so prolific that most of their ideas for new plots have have been used. Years ago, I could not wait for my new book shipment and I have recently canceled my membership that I had from the 1970's. I have been stacking the books with no interest in most of them.
