Apparently this is what our Jace Wayland is supposed to look like!
That's right Ally. We should give Jamie a chance, well...whether we want to or not. He has been cast. So it is useless to keep grumbling over it.If the movie comes out bad, we could just come back to the books....:)
If peter pan was sucked into the world of twilight... he'd be played by him...
Ok people I think you all need to calm down....he was chosen because of his acting ability, not just the way he looks...do you really think they want the movie to fail and if they did they would of hired someone just based on their looks not on how well they act. You watch Jamie is going to silence everyone who thinks he doesn't look right as Jace! He is going to embody everything about who Jace is and everyone will forget they ever thought he did not suite the part.
Now I can understand what Palice was trying to do. Even though she started it not so well, but she indeed pointed out lots of 'haters' here.....LOL
i am so disappointed that alex pettyfer didnt take the job and although i am apprehesive about Jamie's look i am really interested in how they are goin to change him. mostly i just dont want TMI to become another twilight thing which is y i am not too thrilled about the movie
Alex Pettyfer is so gorgeous and looks exactly like Jace Wayland. But somehow he did not do so well in I am Number One and although he tried his best in Beastly, the movie is a total mess. I think he regret he said No.

Of corse his acting career won't end if TMI goes badly (don't know who wrote this). Jamie is a brilliant actor, and to be honest I think you people should get it together. He wasn't what I pictured either, actually I was quite horrified when I found out, BUT I've seen him act and he is GOOD + everybody who signed off on this (movie people) but also Lily Collins and Cassandra Clare said he was BRILLIANT and that we should just wait and see...So that is what I am going to do.

I think this is a very bad picture. He will look better than that in the movie. He is not the Jace I imagined either, but I do think he will do a good job. Hollywood can make miracles happen. They managed to make RPatz kind of sexy for crying out loud.For all the Alex fans out there, sorry, he might have the looks, but he can't act.
TBH, he doesn't really look how I pictured Jace to look, but I'm hopeful they can change his appearance for the movie. And if the author was wow'ed by his audition, then I'm very hopeful he'll nail the role! :)

He definitely wouldn't be my first choice, but I think make-up will do wonders, and I'm glad he's a good actor. Like Nurlely said, there's nothing to be done now. I'm sure it'll turn out fine I mean, the author has a vision of what her book should be on the screen, so she obviously likes something about the way he plays Jace. We'll just have to trust her

I love Alex Pettyfer, but I am a bit disappointed with his movies and acting. His amazingly-Jace-looks-like might not survive in the movie.I am not bliss having Jamie, he is handsome but he is not what I picture Jace is. But he surely can act better, so I rather have a successful movie than a pretty face with bad movie.

Guys, this is just a REALLY bad picture of him as Jace. Too photoshopped. It doesn't even look like Jamie. Otherwise, he is PERFECT for Jace. How? Because he IS Jace. He has those facial features like him. He has a SEXY voice. I love it. He can ACT like Jace. Actually be him. Looks aren't the only things that matter, folks. He has to transform himself into Jace. Pettyfer was actually offered the role. However, he found the idea of playing a male stripper more appealing than playing Jace. He's too arrogant and doesn't even care. He's an ungrateful brat who didn't deserve the role. Jamie is actually passionate about it. He actually is excited! Clare loved him! Directors aren't going to choose the worst actor to play a character. They want to please us. We need to give this guy a chance. He was chosen for a reason. We can't just judge him before the movie even comes out! I admit, I was one of those girls who was HIGLY disappointed to hear that Jamie is playing Jace. But we all need to calm down and give him a chance! Come on!
I think I'm going to give him a chance. I just hope he doesnt freaking kill the role. I also wonder who is going to be Simon.

THANK YOU!! ! Finally someone actually believes that he can pull it off. I so totally agree with you 100%. People just need to give him a chance. Appearances can be manipulated, but acting skills cannot. and JCB obviously has the acting skills to pull this off. And since he blew away the author, he'll probably blow us all away...

Well, he's very good in the HBO Series Camelot which I've been watching. I think he'd make a good Jace.

But seeing his movies made me reconsider him as Jace. Not because he said No to the role, but he might destroy the character with his not-so-good-acting. Jamie, on the other hand, is not what I imagine Jace is. But Jamie is a better actor than Alex. He could pull up characters he played well well enough and he could be hot too (see Camelot TV series). Perfect appearance is not everything. How an actor could blend into the character is more important. Jamie over Alex!
I think you got it wrong Ali.Alex Pettyfer did not play any role in Eclipse. There is not even an Alex as main character there.

I don't really think anybody could master Jace. He's so hot my mind can't even imagine. His face is just kinda blurry.
Clary could not even draw his perfect profile correctly. Jace is beyond imagination of handsome.
i know right? he is like the epitome of all hotness. Maybe it's like when you go in the dictionary and look up handsome or hot they have Jace's name. Not his picture though because his cuteness is unheard of in real life. :D

Yes, I always thought of that. Jace has angel blood that make a total difference with other Nephilim. He is physically slim but strong with extraordinary look, a celestial one. Wit and sarcastic.That is why I will hate the idea of having Jace with a face as the book cover.
This whole movie business is ridiculous. I love the books but... I don't want to watch them ruin the story! There I said it! I think the movie is going to ruin the story!
I personally love the idea of having Mortal Instruments movie. If the movie is a mess, then I just come back to my books....:)

I also thought Molly Quinn or Emma Roberts will make great Clary. Just like I thought Alex Pettyfer will be my perfect Jace. But appearance is not everything. The movie will be released in 2012. Why do we bother ourselves by thinking of the worst outcome. We rather wish for the best and share our judgement after the movie is out there....:)

The smaller-looking or 'delicately-built' males look best as vampires because its what gives them the eerie edge to them. It what makes them so unpredictable- with sharp features- this guy is best built for a vamp.Shadow hunters need to be strong and powerful!
