I always find myself writing when I am drunk and most of the time it's complete crap, but I have found that some really interestign ideas are bounced around when you have no inhibitions and when you are straight you can expound on... Seriously it hilarious to read it the next morning!

Quite frankly, it's when I do my best work. All hopped up on caffeine works as well.
Phil wrote: "I've never been intoxicated, high or drunk."Well good for you! I don't think I couldn't deal with my life without some chemical help. You should write a book...
Aynge wrote: "If it's true that most writers are alcoholics, then it must happen a lot."Burkowski? I love his novels and he is a straight up drunk! He's amazing. And you KNOW that he is a drunk, he readily admits it throughout all of his books and poems.
i wish I had that kind of talent.
I remember writing letters to people when I was using Benzedrine (many many years ago) for days at a time (no sleep involved). The letters rambled on and on with no cohesive thoughts whatsoever. I can't imagine what people thought when they received them. Oh well, maybe I can. :(
Maybe, Carol. I know I wrote one to the superintendent of schools in my home town, several pages long, expounding on my half-baked social/political/educational views. I'm still amazed my house wasn't raided after that one.
