Have we decided to read this one? It's not what I would normally choose to read, but if you're all reading it, I'll try to find a copy.
On the poll, it was tied with a bunch of other books for third place. So I randomly picked it. Besides, this was one of Oprah's Favorite things last year and she said it was really good. It's more about the history and art of hip-hop than an autobiography.
I just finished this last night! It was good. Jessica, you're right, it's about the history of hip hop. Even if you don't like hip hop, it's a good read, it's about persevereance and rising above. I think he's brilliant... He would have made it out of the projects one way or another.
Jackie, does it have a lot of language in it? That was my only worry about reading it. I don't like books that are f-bomb this and f-bomb that. It gets old really fast.
