SOLVED!: Sci-Fi Trilogy: World Hostile to Humans [s]

When I saw the subject line I was pretty sure it was the Deathworld trilogy by Harry Harrison, and after reading your excellent description I'm sure of it. Great books. I'm not sure if they're still in print, but it shouldn't be hard to track down used copies or find them in a library.
