I'm not quite at the end, but I'd forgotten how much falling action there is after Frodo takes the Ring into Mt. Doom. That actually happens pretty early in the book, with the rest focused on putting Middle-Earth back together, albeit in a new way. I get to re-read one of my favorite parts, that for time constraints had to be left out of the film; the scouring of the Shire. I love how they use their newfound strength and courage to set things to rights. But I also love the poignant reminder that even when war happens far off, it still has long lasting effects even in the remotest places, and the actions of some have ripple effects for the many, even across time.

In any case, feel free to discuss the end of the trilogy here, and also post your thoughts on the entire thing.
