Andrea (andreaorva) I love languages too, I wanna learn French, Romanian, German and maybe Greek. Wow, I'm like on the other side of the world, it's really late here.

Andrea (andreaorva) @Chris I know the name for those in spanish, umm hojas de parra? how do you say that in english?

oh grape leaves!!! The hot or cold ones?

message 54: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaorva) hot, I tasted them a long time ago but they were good. Is carne tartara (sorry, again in spanish) also Lebanese?

message 55: by Rea (new)

Rea I'd like to learn Romanian too, at least some basic Romanian, but apparently it's quite difficult because of the different sounds they use!

For me, it's German, Spanish, Italian as most important. I've wanted to learn Hungarian since I was 5, so add that to the list! Ancient Greek just for kicks. Then less important but still interesting, Norwegian and Romanian. I like the sound of Russian too, but the idea of learning cyrillic is a bit daunting.

I've only ever eaten Lebanese food once... it was little balls that were apparently made from cow brains! It was surprisingly good.

YUmmmmmm!!! I love the hot grape leaves!!! Delicious! And I think carne tartara is Lebanese cause you find it in every lebanese restaurant.

@ Rea. I have never tasted cow brains and never will. There is also a lebanese dish that my sister likes but I hate: small intestines with meat balls in it!!

message 58: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaorva) I haven't had Lebanese food in like forever. Do you guys like Mexican food cause i love it! And no, burritos are not Mexican, never had a burrito in my life! okok gotta go to bed, night! Well, morning to you guys.

Good night Andrea!!! BTW I love tacos and fajitas

message 60: by Rea (new)

Rea I didn't know what it was until after I'd eaten it! I don't think I'd ever eat it again.

I like what we consider to be Mexican food! :p Like chili con carne, which probably isn't Mexican at all! But it's still yum.

G'night! hehe.

message 61: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaorva) Yeah Rea, chili isn't mexican either. Mexican food is tacos al pastor, enchiladas, chilaquiles, enfrijoladas, cochinita pibil and we put many kind of salsas in that food like chipotle, jalapeño, habanero, etc.

message 68: by Rea (new)

Rea We eat lots of enchiladas. There's a Mexican restaurant in Geneva. Whenever we go to Geneva we eat there, it's so yum!

message 69: by Chris (new)

Chris | 257 comments Mod
You live next to Geneva!! When I travel I always spend at least a day in Geneva. I have a house nearby: in "Divonne" if you know it!

message 70: by Rea (new)

Rea Divonne-les-bains? I see the sign every time we drive to Lausanne. We live in Annecy, which you probably know as well.

message 71: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (andreaorva) Never been to Europe :(

message 72: by Rea (new)

Rea Don't worry, I've never been to the Americas either! Well, I have, but it was only a layover in LA and they kept us in the airport by sticking armed guards on all potential exits from our lounge!

My dad was just in Mexico. I don't know which city he was in, but he said it was bad. Complete control had been taken by one of the drug cartels and they'd station "watchers" around the town to make sure no one from other cartels tried to come onto their turf!

Yeah drug dealing is kind of a real problem right now but it depends on the city you're in, where I live it's not that bad.
