Paul Jones (paulantonyjones) | 23 comments Thanks for the tip Amy, and the laugh, Cambria (Love your name, by the way. I'm from Wales originally and Cambria was its old name).

message 5: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Why, thank you Paul.:) I have actually read that before. It is also the name of a place in California and a very good wine. (although, I have never tried the wine so it could taste like sour grapes for all I know. Lol)
I have always wanted to see Wales and England....i tell my husband that i was meant to live there...Someday I really hope to visit.

If you like green, lots of castles, history everywhere you turn and "funny" accents, then Wales is the place for you. I miss it like you would not believe.

Sure thing!!! And the question of the day for you, Paul...do you still have the accent? You know how we people from America LOVE the accent!! :)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Note to self: Add Paul to the list of people with accents I will hear in my head as I read their comments... ;-)

The store looks awesome!!!

Amy, I checked out the site. They do require a bit of personal information in order to list there. How are writers assured that this is a safe site?

message 12: by Amy Eye (new)

Amy Eye | 1841 comments Mod
Dale, I work for JournalStone, and I can assure you that your personal information is very secure. We will not sell your information and all of the information is handled internally, none of it is sent off anywhere else for processing. The only people who get any of your information is the IRS, and they need your number to make sure they get their "fair share" of the sale. If you have any other questions about this, feel free to e-mail me at amy@journalstone.com, I would love to chat with you some more about it!! :)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments Quick question:

Is there a way to track sales other than the quarterly report? Is that in the pipeline?

I'll be signing up as an author. Every little bit helps :).

I just learned that monthly, not quarterly, reports will be sent out. That makes it a bit better, I think!! :)

message 18: by C.S. Splitter (new)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments Yeah, it does. I actually get email notifications from another site every time there is a purchase and I am not beyond the point where such a notice makes me happy for a couples seconds lol.

Yes, if I were selling a thousand copies a day I would turn it off :)

Automatic notifications might be something nice for the site in the future.

I think they are working on that, it is a new store, so they are making improvements everyday, all suggestions are really helpful though, so if there is anything else that you see or you think would be good, let me know, and I will pass on the information! Thank you so much!!

Here, here...

Thank you both! I've been a slacker over there the past week or more!! I finished a book last week, but can't post the review anywhere until the author does her blog tour on my blog next week!! ;-) The last book I finished was a poetry book that doesn't fall under the preferred genres.

So far, just US still - I'm not sure what all has to be done before we can open it up internationally...My boss is currently away at the horror convention in NYC, so he will be way too busy to be worried about any e-mails from me!! LOL

message 35: by Robin (new)

Robin (rreed) | 7 comments Why require a table of contents? Even traditionally published novels often don't have one.

message 36: by Amy Eye (new)

Amy Eye | 1841 comments Mod
Because when people are reading an ebook, you don't have the ability to flip pages and such like you do in a traditional book. For instance you knew there was a fact in chapter 7 that you really wanted to reference, but weren't sure about the exact details. With a traditional book, you could quickly and easily flip through the pages until you reached chapter 7. In the e-books that I convert, I make links to the beginning of each chapter of the book. That way, the person wanting to get to chapter 7 of their e-book merely has to click on the link to chapter seven to get there instead of hitting their page up button several hundred times to get to the spot they want to reach. It is a great tool for a reader to have this in an e-book.

It only takes a few minutes for the author to add and can make a reader very happy to have!!

message 39: by C.S. Splitter (new)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments Hey Y'all,

I have a technical issue while formatting for submission to Journal Stone and am hoping for some help.

I have TWO lines in my book where I use a different font. Those lines are meant to depict handwriting.

JS says it requires one specific font....is this going to be a problem? Or, do I really need to make everything one font?

Any help appreciated :)

Splitter

message 40: by Amy Eye (new)

Amy Eye | 1841 comments Mod
for designating the handwriting, use italics to show the difference. :)

message 41: by C.S. Splitter (new)

C.S. Splitter | 979 comments OK, I can do that. Thank you!
