Charlotte | 25 comments This discussion is for one of the June group reads: Time's Edge, written by J.M. Dattilo, a husband and wife writing team. Time's Edge is the first book in the Time's Edge sci-fi/fantasy series, and it's the winner of the Tassy Walden Award. Their book is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle, and they are also members of Goodreads and this group. Have fun discussing their book!

Helen I've downloaded this ready to read.

Patricia (pg4003) | 148 comments I've downloaded the sample, but haven't gotten into it yet. I'm still reading A Game of Thrones for my Yahoo reading group. This one is an epic.

message 5: by Helen (new)

Helen Martin is on my re-read pile but probably wait til he finishes the series.

message 6: by Nada (new)

Nada Al-Karmi (nadooush) same here. i keep buying the books but i haven't read a single one. i'll start reading them after the series ends so i won't have to wait when i finish one of them.

Charlotte | 25 comments Personally, I prefer to read a book in a series as soon as it comes out. The wait between books can be maddening at times, but at least it's usually no more than a year. Although, I can see the logic of your way, Helen and nada. Especially if you get a really good series. Then it's hard to wait, but the books tend to be worth it!

Jenny (jennyc89) I'm a few chapters into Time's Edge. Something about the writing style or quality is bothering me a little, but I can't put my finger on it. I really like the premise though.

Aela This book look really good, and I feel this need to read it.Sadly though, neither of the library systems that I live buy have it.So I've purchased it off of Amazon, but it will be long in arriving.

Let me know what you think of it,Jenny!:)

Anne (crazybakingmom) | 724 comments I just got the eBook and hope to read it over the 4th of July weekend.

message 12: by Helen (new)

Helen I'm near the end of The Magicians so I'll be starting in a couple of days.

message 13: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (jennyc89) I ended up loving it! I think what was different about the style is that is was more fast paced than most books I've read. There's hardly any downtime between the action. I ended up getting used to it though, and the plot is so good! You'll definitely get hooked. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Helen Finished this on my commute to work, I take two buses. I was actually disappointed when my friend got on the first bus as I really wanted to finish. Totally gripping, loved it.
Someone said they are members? Congrats on super book then, any more?

Helen Brilliant! I'm still smiling at it a week later. Glad I found it.

Charlotte | 25 comments I'm glad that you're all enjoying the book. I'm also curious as to who everyone's favorite character is.

message 18: by Helen (new)

Helen I kept fluctuating between the two leads. Although the dragon had some good lines.

As authors, we probably aren't supposed to play favorites, but we do have a special fondness for Jafrey. How could you not love a guy who looks at his boss and says, "Glad I'm not you!"

I love Jafrey too! He's got a great sense of humor and some of the best lines in the book!

Charlotte | 25 comments What's everyone's favorite scene from Time's Edge?

message 23: by Helen (new)

Helen I liked the part in the university (?) where the guy kept melting the locks. I also liked the maze. Hard to pick really. Will the sequel be on kindle?

message 24: by Helen (new)

Helen Just bought the sequel, looking forward to fitting it in.
