Jennifer (jen_fairytales) I am finishing up Play of Passion by Nalini Singh. Gotta get ready for Kiss of Snow! Also, can't wait to get my hands on Julia Quinn's Just Like Heaven.

Dls | 29 comments This group got me started on a Balogh rereading binge. I just reread The Obedient Wife, and I will probably read either An Unacceptable Offer or The First Snowdrop.
It really is amazing how deep some of her books went back when most Regencies simply didn.t

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 57 comments Just finishing up Welcome to Harmony by Jodi Thomas Absolutely loving it! Glad I have the next in the series.

Have a "buddy read" to start 6/1 for Graceling by Kristin Cashore with a really great GR friend.

And I'm really looking forward to reading Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet #1) by Julia Quinn !

Irisheyes | 5 comments I just finished a Lisa Kleypas re-read, DLS. LOL I was cleaning up my bookshelves and couldn't resist picking up MARRIED AT MIDNIGHT and LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON. Then I went back to SECRETS OF A SUMMER NIGHT. I know I'm in the minority but I really liked Annabelle and Simon's story.

I have waaaayyy too much to do this weekend (graduation party) to dive into any of Mary Balogh's backlist. LOL

babyfishmouth Just re-read Ain't She Sweet? and am about to re-read Match Me If You Can.

I've been trying to alternate contemporary with historical. Hope to also read Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart later this week.

Dls | 29 comments Rereading lots of Baloghs. I had forgotten how fascinating Christmas Belle and A Gentle Conquest are. I think of them as classic Baloghs: no bad guys, just a couple trying to figure out how to make a relationship work.in both cases I can imagine MB starting with the situation and trying to fidure out how it would play out. CB is her Othello--how jealousy can poison a relationship (and also I think stereotypes about actresses). aGC has my all time favorit beta hero. And I think it's a wonderful depiction of how two very young people not particulalry ready for marriage can struggle wen forced to marry by their families...
