Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments FYI Gals, the Jade Dragons have dropped the first chip on our board.

Miss Cindy, back to your lair now. Don't make me bring out my dragon slayer! >;)

The Slayer

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments COOL! Can I borrow it???? Please, please, please!!! *sends blast of fire to right wrist* Drop it! NOW!!!

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments *scurries away with new toy* Thanks Steph!

message 105: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments Awwww. Sorry to hear you didn't like AC, Moss. =( I agree with a lot of your review but I still lovers me some Raphael & Elena...neverending sexing & all.

Trey (Red Hot & Blue, #1) by Cat Johnson -★★★ 6/7

In spite of how ridiculous the beginning of "Trey" was, it actually wasn't that bad. By far one of the better freebies I've gotten from Amazon.

So Trey & his buddy Jack (Jack is his story) are on a mission to save Jack's brother from being chopped into Kibbles 'n Bits. Catch? Jack's crush, Carly has to pose as Trey's wife for it to work. So there's this melodramatic love triangle going on. And sex. I liked the sex but I was not a fan of the voyeuristic aspect of it. Other than that, the book was pretty good to only be 100 pages.

message 106: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah it's okay, I've had a good run with Singh through the Psy/Ch series so I don't begrudge her the odd shitter.

How do you pack plot, love triangle, AND sexing into 100 pages and makes it good? Sounds pretty interesting.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I tag Crystal as the first chip placement requester. ;)

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Crystal's IT! Run away.........

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Ummmmm.....Steph.....we have your dragon slayer. Quite the nice little toy! Thanks!!!

message 110: by Crystal S (last edited Jun 07, 2011 10:51PM) (new)

Crystal S (crystalann) | 487 comments Hello all. I just finished Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh (06/08/11). I'm giving it ★★★★. I actually really enjoyed it a lot. It had a bit of a slow start, in my opinion, which is why it lost a star. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series (just what I need, another series to collect, LOL). I kinda thought the bad guy was a smidge too obvious. I really liked that Sascha would tell Lucas to shove it sometimes (and occasionally she would literally shove him with her mind). Loved her spunk once she let down her walls.

ETA: Am I really the designated chip placement requester???

message 111: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay! We're all done. Happy to second that nomination. Go Crystal :)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yay, new Avatar for Moss :)

Is it from the 60's?

message 113: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Jun 08, 2011 04:53AM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yay Crystal! So, where are we puttin' our chip, ladies?? Crystal, what happened? LOL! ;)

MY CHIP VOTE: C1 or F1, that way we block both green or orange from a chance at horizontal 4nRow

Looks like it, Sandra. Maybe something from the Freedom Riders?

message 114: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Another thought from Moss was D2.

If I'm not online, but ya'll make a decision, post it over on the placement thread. I'm cool with whichever spot ya'll decide on since it's early in the game.

Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments Yay! Our first chip!!! I'm going to have to think about a suitable placement. Hmmmm.

message 119: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, that's Rosa Parks. It's just temporary, to celebrate something in our family :)

Does anyone else get the feeling that with 4 teams playing it's going to be almost impossible to make a connect 4?

Zaanodes | 804 comments Moss wrote: "Yep, that's Rosa Parks. It's just temporary, to celebrate something in our family :)..."

So, share! We will all help you celebrate!!

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

Aw thanks Z, that's so sweet of you :) It's kind of personal and not my story to tell, but it's a family tradition with us that every time someone overcomes something tough we hoist up Ms. Parks' picture and put it on a shelf. I chose my GR profile this time as a virtual shelf!

message 122: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Great idea Moss :)

Thought it was her, but just guessing, so nice to know I was right! I like being right. LOL

Congrats to your family member!!!!

message 123: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Maybe, Moss. If we find it's a no-win situation, which hopefully won't happen, we'll have to regroup. Maybe for CC4R2 we will have 2 teams per board with either less players or more boards. Got a while till then though, so we'll see how it plays out for now.

Congrats to your family member. That's a great way to celebrate overcoming any obstacle.

Alrighty, mates. We got our chip request in? Off to peak at the request thread. :)

message 124: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments WOOHOO! WTG, RedRum! We're officially on the board!

CONGRATULATIONS, Red Rum!

Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments I decided to start Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance today. I'm going to want to kick myself in the head if it can be used for the upcoming categories...but I just can't help myself! 2 years was a long enough wait.

Crystal S (crystalann) | 487 comments Hey, does anyone know if enough of Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger takes place in London to qualify it as an urban setting? If so then that's what I'll read. If not then I'll keep going through my other ebooks.
