Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments *************spoiler**************

The front cover has a picture of a woman with her singlet sleeve off her shoulder.(one shoulder only) I think in a pink colour. The woman is quite thin, but not stick thin. You don't see her face. I can't remember if it's the back of her or front of her, but I know her face isn't shown.

The main character is a woman and she meets a guy, whom is much younger than her. He does pottery and I think does other art? She goes over to his house sometimes and his to hers, while her husband is away. She has children I think? At the end, she becomes pregnant, but not to the guy she had an affair with. I think Iremember she has a very young daughter who I think was fond of the guy she had an affair with? I think at the end the woman's husband comes home and at that time she finds out she is pregnant. She sees the guy she had an affair with walking with his new girlfriend, he sees her pregnant and starts to fret a bit . The woman's husband thinks something happened between her and the man near the end of the book, but she doesn't tell him. I think the woman's husband goes away because of work commitments and she thinks he is cheating on her with all the blondes or women there? Also, I think she goes and has passionate sex with the guy she has an affair with in a secluded area? Definitely not at his or her home I remember. I remember near the beginning of the book when her husband tries to make love to her she thinks he is too rough? I think the book is American as I think the woman and her daughter/s went away to the city..like Chicago or something (not sure why..think it was while he was away?!)

I think the lady lives really close to the young guy. I think she is in her 30's and he is in his 20's. I am sure the book is written in the woman's perspective from her point of view.

I cannot remember the Author. I cannot remember any of the characters names. I read it quite a while ago. I'm interested to know the name of it because I thought it was very well-written

I have also googled some key words but NOTHING. I only get results on Harry Potter and stuff like that

I am 100% positive they do pottery together. I remember him teaching her pottery and she falls for him. I can't have imagined it, I remember getting it out at my high school library around 2007.

I think it was about 1 or 2 years old the book at the time. It looked pretty new. Not any older than a 3 year old book at the time I reckon. The singlet the lady was wearing was very plain..sorta 2005-ish maybe ...so maybe it was published then?

Possible Plot Ideas, which could not be true:
I also think she MAY just live in a small house, like an apartment or a small house, he may have seen her undressing from his house once?. I don't know if this is true. I don't know where I got this idea. I think he walked by her house some times and that's how they met. The title may have the title 'unbroken' or 'broken' in it. Not sure. All I know is that they call it quits right before or just when her husband comes home from being away for a while. Her parents may have come over once or she told a friend about him?

Becky--when looking for a book, the more you tell, the better. Some of those spoilers could be the very thing that pushes someone's "I remember that one" button. In a "what's the name of that book" group, you definately need to include spoilers.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments We do have the ability to do spoiler tags now in all our message posts, as well in our reviews. Just as we use b for bold and s for strike through and u for underline, and i for italics, we can use the word spoiler for spoiler. Take a look at the (some html is ok) link above each comment box. That might help. Then, members can decide if they want to see the spoiler(s) or not.

Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments bump, I'm still very interested to know what this book is. I've also remembered a few more details of the book! Which I've added. This is all I remember.

I don't recognized the book Becky--but it does sound interesting. Just keep trying and bumping it up occassionally. I finally got someone to ID my oldest posted book (3+ years it was posted) recently during yet another bump. So they DO get solved, it just sometimes takes a while.

Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments Thank you! If you ever see a book with this cover, please tell me the title! One time I actually saw the book a year or 2 later in a bargain book bin, but I never took note of the name of it.

Sandi | 4 comments Sounds vaguely like a book I read with a title SOMETHING like "While she lay sleeping." However, I've checked, and all the books with similar titles are DEFINITELY not the one I read. All I'm sure of is the word 'sleep' in one of it's forms (sleeping, slept, sleeps . . . ). Will keep thinking, and looking.

Wrong - book I read was "While I Was Gone" by Sue Miller. So long ago I don't recall the exact plot, but still sounds similar.

Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments Thank you, but no it doesn't strike a cord. :(

What can I do to help my search? All I've tried is typing things into google like "Affair pottery woman book" "pottery affair" and stuff like that/

Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments Added an extra fact about how old I think it is. Thought It might help.
I'm also trying google books with the word pottery and affair. Probably won't help as the pottery theme wasn't strong...shame :(

I wish there was such thing as google book plot search. It would really help. I've tried keyword search on amazon and other sites. But if I type it in say..'Affair' I don't get books with the word affair in them, but in the title! :(. I actually got 'notes on a scandal' a couple times using abebooks. It's not that...it's not a movie.

I am sorry I am not able to provide any more information than I have listed for this. That's all I can remember at the moment

Becky (moonserenity) | 34 comments OMG! I think that is it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! As soon as I read the name 'Sweet Ruin' I knew it was it. The cover is slightly different then what I remember, I thought her skin was a bit paler and the release date a year earlier. Thank you so much LISA!
