What do you think of Atticus?
He's lived a long time...what historical events might he remember vividly?

When Atticus was first described...a tea-drinking bearded young-looking man wearing sandals with an affinity for the earth...I immediately thought of him as a hippie.
However, his attractiveness to various goddesses and his sword-wielding skills can lead someone to a different conclusion.
So what do you think...hippie or hunk?
Take the poll:
Hippie or Hunk?

Sans I hadn't read any books about Druids before and only one or two books written from a male POV. I'm more than a little tired of kick-ass heroines, thinking their untouchable and just so awesome. Atticus was confident but still humble, tough, respectful and capable. Just a great character.

*whispers* I say hunk. Especially going by the model on the book cover.

I completely agree.

There is another series with a Druid as the main character that I thought was pretty good. It doesn't seem to get much fanfare, though:

Unshapely Things (Connor Grey, #1) by Mark Del Franco Unquiet Dreams (Connor Grey, #2) by Mark Del Franco Unfallen Dead (Connor Grey, #3) by Mark Del Franco Unperfect Souls (Connor Grey, #4) by Mark Del Franco Uncertain Allies (Connor Grey, #5) by Mark Del Franco

and a sister series in the same world: Skin Deep (Laura Blackstone, #1) by Mark Del Franco Face Off (Laura Blackstone, #2) by Mark Del Franco

Sans I think I have the first Connor Grey book at home already. I really need to check it out. Thanks!

Garrett Jones (myyrdneopia) | 25 comments I've seen those on the shelves.

As to the hippie or hunk question, I think the only answer I can give is "Yes."

Ricotn | 1 comments Now I'll add Mark Del Franco to my Nook's wish list.

I'll say Hunk...I'm really partial to red hair.

According to legend, were Druids really able to shapeshift?

message 9: by Garrett (new)

Garrett Jones (myyrdneopia) | 25 comments Depends on the legends.

Kevin Hearne | 5 comments Yes. :) The Tuatha De Danann certainly could and did, and I recall at least one tale in which a Druid shifted to a deer.

I concur :) Totally hunk mainly because of his attitude!
