Kristin Wondering if anyone is interested in reading Simone's Weil's Waiting for God?
She is a french philosopher who became a Christian as an adult.
I am not well acquainted with mysticism, but I've heard great things about this book. I hope to start it soon and thought it might be nice if anyone else wanted to join.

Karen L. My local library has it. I'd like to join you, but I think I'd like to wait until we are done with our home-school year. That will be probably be anywhere from June 8-10. Definitely by the 10th. It is a short book. The one my library lists says it is 169 pages long.

Kristin Wonderful, I have no problem waiting until then!

Karen L. I borrowed the book from my local library and have read almost half way through. I will experiment and start a thread for the book introduction and chapter one. This is a more interesting book than I thought. She was raised as a Jew (non practicing Jew) and had a gradual conversion experience to Christianity over her lifetime.

Special K, are you still up for discussing this book? Anyone else also up for it? It is okay if you can't join us this week. I know it takes time to order and receive either a library book or a book ordered online.

Karen L. Hi Special K, what did you think of the book?

message 7: by Kristin (new)

Kristin I have put it aside for the moment, but hope to pick it up again soon. Sorry! I always seem to read multiple books at once and this one kept getting put on the bottom.

Karen L. Oh I do that multiple book thing too :) Right now Augustine's Confessions has been on the bottom of my pile (since lent). I need to finish it before next Lent-Lol!
