I think that's what put me off Mircea - that and his resemblance to another character from another serie..."
I just ordered the Dorinaa books, so is there a lot of Mircea in them?

You are definitely not alone. I love Pritkin, don't get me wrong, but I love Mircea more. It is just something about that damn vampire!!!
Somnium wrote: "guys, i think we either need a schedule here, or a cloning device ;D" You know, a schedule doesn't sound so bad. I mean, the man is half-incubus. I see no issues. See? The new girl is willing to share. :p
Rosezetta, Mircea is sufficiently featured in the Dory books. :)

Who knows, though? She may end up with Pritkin for a while, but it's hard for me to envision. Mircea has always been the one she loves, ever since she was a child, and he loves her. But with her ever-growing power, there's a chance she could end up without either of them in the very end. So many possiblities!

@Leah: ahh, i know what you mean there - i think Pritkin might be better for Cassie than Mircea what with all the lack of manipulation there, but I must admit, I can't seem to manage imagining Cassie and Pritkin together in a relationship different to the one they have now. I mean, I can't really imagine them dating. But with Mircea, I can picture that a lot better. Although that's probably just because we've seen it already with Mircea and not with Pritkin, and my imagination is limited. Maybe I'll change my mind if we ever see it happen...

I'm a huge Mircea fan but I don't want Cassie to end up with him. I think the love between them is not romantic love and sooner or later one of them or both will realize this. I know they have sex and all but... I don't know... Them knowing each other since she was a kid makes it all weird for me. I also think for her it's more a feeling of being protected.
I'm not sure about her and Prtikin either. Maybe we have to see them dating so that I can imagine them together.
But to be honest, I want her with none of them. This would be a surprising end!

I think that is a major possibility! With her Pythia power becoming stronger, neither dude may be able to keep her. But I do disagree about Cassie and Mircea not loving each other romantically. I honestly think they do. :]
Maybe she will end up with a were! That would make Jonas so happy loll.

Attagirl! I'm right there with you.

Now that's more like it :D!

I think Mircea is changing and Cassie is "rocking his boat" and making his life unexpected, uncontrollable, and fun.

Give the man a break. He is trying really hard and Cassie doesn't give him enough credit. So he may have a little trouble being as nice as you want him to or remembering that you are getting your own power and he doesn't have to protect you as much anymore what with his job, and his vampire followers, and rescuing both you and his actual daughter from the messes you always seem to get into.
It annoys me sometimes when the heroines in these books whine about how dark and complicated their men are. Here's a tip, sister. Don't date a thousands year old master vampire (or alpha werewolf, or demon king). Just saying... they may have issues. Look for a nice dentist instead.
This is why I love the relationship between Elena and Raphael in the Guild Hunter series.

The character "Mircea" is based on the real life Mircea II of Wallachia, who was born in 1428. That makes him 583 years, which is not "thousands of years" as you wrote. Age aside, he is still used to getting his own way as you said. First as an officer and a member of the royal family of Wallachia (later a part of Romania) and then as a powerful vampire without a sire to boss him around.

though you do have to feel a little sorry for Mircea, having to stress over both Dory and Cassie and trying to keep them alive - can't say i envy him on that one ^_^

oh stella! :D I thought exactly like this. TALK SİSTER! :D btw I adore elena and raphael. Nalini actually loves her characters, cassie hates mircea !

I have to agree with Sue. I've been feeling that way about Mircea for the longest time--that he doesn't see Cassie as his equal and it's probably impossible for him to do so, both because he is a master vampire and because he knew her as a child.
Pritkin, on the other hand, has had the opportunity to get to know Cassie and vice versa without any prior history as baggage. I think Cassie appreciates their equal footing as compared to Mircea's prejudiced view of her.
I like Mircea, but because he treats Cassie as a precious object and not her own person, I have to root for a Cassie/Pritkin relationship.

Pritkin all the way! :)

im really glad chance posted the deleted chapters - it would of been sad if we completely missed out on those!
Chance is such an amazing writer

I assumed it was in exchange for Cassie's handy support, though she must be having a hard time convincing them.
The Cassie& Bodyguards scene can be decribed with 2 words: fucking awesome!!

Anyway. I was surprised at the whole daughter of Artemis thing too. Totally caught be unaware. I can't wait for the next book where hopefully we'll find out more about the father too. But then again we probably won't. It took us this long to find out about her mom.
I'm more excited about her trip to Hel. I would love to see what happens with Pritkin and Cassie in Hel, pressumably mostly taking place in the territory where the Incubi are. I can't stop grinnin' just thinking about it.
When Pritkin saved Cassie at the end I cried and yelled at Pritkin and cried somemore. When she leaves to go save Pritkin I was saying "damn right", "go girl". I felt like I was ready to go with her as her cheerleader.
And like always I loved the action scenes. I wish I could write actions scenes like her. They play like a movie in my head and Cassie is the biggest trooper, she is always fighting through, taking on the big dogs, and getting back up and saying fuck you.

*ahem*
Do vampires pee?
I ask because in HtM Cassie's vampire guards were consuming mass quantities of beer, yet they did not use the bathrooms...which is why they missed the bathroom phone that Cassie eventually used to contact Pritkin and plan her escape from the hotel suite.
Inquiring minds want to know...
