Dayalal Dev I am on page 20 out of 180. PonyBoy Cutis is walking home after watching a Paul Newman film. He wanders why he is walking alone and says how it it unsafe, especially for a greaser like him. Greasers attract Socials or the SocS a rich west side crowd. On his walk he realizes a Convair is trailing him. The Covair pulls up beside and 5 Socs walk out, surrounding him. They beat up PonyBoy who screams for help. Ponyboy's brother and group appear and chase the Socs away. Ponyboy realizes he should never walk alone.

Ruth Generation after generaton this book is loved by teens and adults who didn't find it as teens. A teenage girl writing about life in Oklahoma City - she wrote what she knew. And the teens she wrote about are still alive and often not doing wo well on our strees today. I see Dally everywhere.

Christina Read this book twice once in junior high once in high-school and it is by far one of my favorite books of all time love it.

Ruth Yes it was, but the emotions and trials the teens went through are still being dealt with every day by teens today. Teens ignore the dates references and relate to the characters and how they deal with fate.
