I can hardly wait for this book! I am so glad he put out Interlude to keep us entertained until then.

I came home from work and my copy was sitting on the table! Doing my happy dance. I haven't started it yet, well I just got it ten minutes ago. I am a little reluctant to read it now because that will be it for Odd until next year. Isn't it next year? Anyway, maybe I can do a chapter or two a day.
Dany wrote: "Has anybody else started this yet?"I just bought the audiobook today and will get to it sometime next month.
Timed it perfectly. The book I was reading I finished today and will start Odd Apocalypse before bed. Koontz is the only author that moves directly to the front of the to be read pile.
I preorderd my copy and it is on its way but not here yet. I just finished Odd Interlude. And a nice little interlude it was. Not necessary to the stories on either side of it, but why miss an adventure with Odd?
Dany wrote: "I'm at the halfway mark. I'm having a good time with it. It's bizarre and funny, I'm seeing a theme, and I just met a guest star. Also, Odd just did something I'd never expect him to do. I want to ..."I'm right at halfway, but apparently not far enough for the guest star.
Really interesting so far. Finally starting to get a feel of where it is going.
Jim wrote: "I am at the part with the guest star. An interesting choice by Koontz."Just got there also, and I agree.
This book kind of has a 77 Shadow Street feel to it at times.
Dany wrote: "I finished early this morning. It was awesome. I'll wait until others catch up. I liked this better than Mr. Koontz's last 2 novels. I want to read parts of it again."Did you mean his last two Odd Thomas novels or his last two novels overall?
Okay, almost done. I have to say, I am really liking Odd's attitude in this book. Maybe all of his previous encounters are shaping him into a different man.
Finished it too. I really like it. One of the better ones about Odd. I liked it so much I wanted to dive into Deeply Odd....I guess I have to wait.
I agree with Robert, very "77 SS"! I even mentioned that in my review (by the way, it's spoiler-filled so don't go reading it before you've finished!)
I love it when Dean writes about time travel and paradoxes. Like in Seize the Night.Similar idea, and Roseland is actually pretty close to Wyvern geographically.
Is anyone else hoping these two stories will collide?
I had also forgotten about Boo and Raphael, the dogs. I love it when he makes dogs one of the main characters, but the two don't have a very large role in this book. I can only guess they will in the next volume, because Odd says Boo (the ghost dog) hasn't passed on because he will need him in the future.
Very happy with this book, but the first one is still my favorite. Makes me cry every time.
I just finished this yesterday. After reading Odd Hours and Odd Interlude #1, #2 & #3, I was hoping for more of a Christopher Snow crossover. The Odd Interlude books got even closer to this than Odd Hours did and I was hoping Apocalypse would finally make it happen. Oh well, maybe somewhere down the road we'll see this.I did like Odd Apocalpyse but not quite as much I liked Forever Odd, Odd Hours and the Odd Interlude e-books.
I just feel that Odd is a little more willing to do things he don't want to do. It still bothers him to kill, but he seems okay with it as long as it is needed to be done.
I've got a hardcover copy from the library but really hoping an audiobook becomes available through the library soon because I'd rather do that - I've got a hold placed for it :-)
I had reserved Odd Apocalypse from my local library and my winning number has finally come up!!! Yayy.I have enjoyed the series so it is worth the wait.
I don't know why but I had a hard time getting into this book but in all fairness the problem was me not the book or Dean's writing. Once I did get into it I could not put it down. My one question is, I know the "freaks" or "porkers" come from the future but WHAT are they?
Amy S wrote: "...My one question is, I know the "freaks" or "porkers" come from the future but WHAT are they?"I figure they are regressed/mutant humans, resulting from some chemical, biological, and/or nuclear catastrophe that will probably occur at some point in the future (the boy said a rare few possible futures did not result in the freaks).
I too, believe that the freaks are something that resulted from human tampering that will be revealed in the future Odd books. I also think it is not coincidence that there are references in other books to the experiments at Wyvern and have a feeling that the freaks will come out of some of that experimentation.
Johnny wrote: "Perhaps something similar as the goblins in "Twilight Eyes"?"Yes, they reminded me of the Twilight Eyes goblins too.
I am just now reading Odd Apocalypse! I finally got a copy from the library today! I can't wait! So I am off to read it! =D
I had no idea that Odd Apocalypse was available in audiobook. DC your falling behind on keeping me informed. Or maybe you didn't know you were supposed to keep me informed. Either way, I didn't know. Went to the library because I had finished my other audiobooks and there it sat pretty as you please. I almost shouted for joy but remembered I was at a library. Needless to say I got it but it will be very difficult to wait until Monday to start it.
Odd Apocalypse was just sitting there? I had to wait for my turn on a waiting list. You are a very lucky person :-)
The book has been out since they received it but I don't think many people check out audiobooks. Besides I am not sure they had it in the computer that they were getting it in audiobook because I never saw it there. Anyway, for whatever reason I have it now. Whoopy!
I am just lucky there wasn't a waiting list. I live in a small town. The library is really small, it only carries one copy of each book they have unless its popular like Twilight in which they keep 2 copies in the library. I used to live in a big city where there was usually 10 copies per book. XD
Another helpful hint is look for large print edition in the online library catalog - many times these will not have as many holds on them :-)
That is true PLUS it makes you feel like you accomplished more cause there are usually a lot more pages per book for a large print book. I am so far really enjoying the book. Sadly I couldn't read as much as I had wanted to today because my family's cat decided to give birth today. XD I am going to read some more before bed.

Just finished today and I also liked it better than Odd Hours. I'll be giving it 5 stars :-) Love the time travel element. I love time travel. There is a great movie in the theaters called Looper which I highly recommend and of course since I'm from the 80's I love Back to the Future. Odd Apocalypse brought to mind 77 Shadow Street, Lightning and of course previous Odd books.

I had a hard time also, was beginning to think I wasn't gonna like this installment, until I hit about half-way and then it kept getting better and better and I just think it was beautiful :-) (view spoiler)

Jason, Do you know how much of the information on Tesla is historically accurate? Very fascinating to think about at any rate and I'd like for it to based on true historical events.
