Where Are the Children?
question
I cant remember the title or author of this book!

A long time ago I read a book about some abandoned children I think in a car in a parking lot of a grocery store maybe? The eldest sibling would steal bread etc. I thought it was by Mary Higgins Clark in fact I was positive, however none of her books have matched what I'm looking for. If anyone knows this book please help me! :)

I don't think it's Mary Higgins Clark, I have read a lot of her books and that doesn't sound like any of them. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. Sorry!
The only thing that comes to my mind is maybe Where The Heart Is by Billie Letts, about a 17 year old girl that delivers a baby in a Wal-mart and lives in it for awhile.
No,It's not Mary Higgins Clark, it was the same title but they were kept underground.Great book though, one of her best!
There are a couple of books like that:
One is "Homecoming" followed by "Dicey's Song", but I don't remember the author's name. (Saw the movie, never read the book.)
Another might be "The Boxcar Children" but that was a long series a long time ago. I don't remember if the kids were abandoned or not, but it is in a similar vein.
