Are you KIDDING me???? Asking that is a downright INSULT to VA!!! I admit Twilight isn't that bad if you come to look at it right upfront but it doesn't stand A CHANCE against Vampire Academy!!
Richelle Mead v Stephanie Meyer is like Dick Francis v Jackie Collins. Mead writes a compelling character in 10 pages where it takes Meyer 100 - one reason why Mead's able to write so many character-driven spinoffs of course (-:And then there's the very spooky similarities between LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries written 10 years before and the Twilight novels i.e. Mead gets more points for originality.

I'm not a huge fan of either, that said, I'd take VA over Twilight any day. It's kind of Buffy esque and I'm a sucker for Dimitri. Rose actually does something, whilst Bella is just kind of there I guess.Also, how is Rose slutty? I don't get it. Sure she's rebellious and likes to hook up with boys, but she's a head strong teenage girl, that's kind of what they do.
VA is the best vampire book and hopefully movie because unlike twilight its not like o i love you or i am madly in love with him.VA actually has some thing to it like the fight go out in the really world and some have powers, and VA have evil villins. twilight didt have most of the things VA has.So all in all VAMPIRE ACADEMY IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

Vampire Academy! I love VA. Action, romance, friendship, based on a real vampire legend, and an interesting series plot. Loved it, loved it. Can't wait for the movie.I liked the Twilight films but I couldn't get into the books as much as I got into the VA books.
Twilight is gay, I hate it. I hate that my family even owns such a horrid movie. I haven't read the book, thank god, and I don't plan to. Though I did try once to read them. I didn't even get past the first page before I stopped reading it, is was just terrible. I couldn't even force myself to read on past page one. That's how terrible of a series it is. So I'd have to say that I like Vampire Academy a lot more. I love Vampire Academy I pretty much read all six books in a week. At some points I had to wait to get the next book and I couldn't read any other book because I was to busy thinking about what was going to happened next in Vampire Academy. Thankfully I only ever had to wait a day or two though.

To me it comes down on the characters. Should I pick Bella, who wants to take suicide when her shiny vampire boyfriend leaves? Or Rose who is sassy and kick guys butts? Well, it's not that hard choice after all. Of course I choose Vampire Academy.

Vampire Academy is the clear winner
That's hard, because even though they are both Vampire books, they are VERY different. I think VS is better, but I will always classify Twilight differently then everything else. (Good thing or bad? I don't know!) Rose is a stronger character then Bella, but...It's just so different!!

Undoubtedly Vampire Academy, his characters are much better and Rose is sarcastisca, fun and does not yield to anything and Dimitri leaves you speechless.

Vampire Academy all the way because I, personally, don't like Twilight. I feel that Vampire Academy has a better story and characters. In Twilight, they also repeat a lot of words and the plot is sort of boring. In Vampire Academy, I feel that characters are more developed and interesting. I also think that Bella isn't a great main character because I feel that she doesn't really do anything and relies on Edward a lot. Rose is a real kickass character, and she actually can fight for herself and is more independent. The love stories in VA is also more interesting to me. The love triangle in Twilight can get really annoying and boring.

You can't even compare the two..they're totally separate entities beyond being about Vampires. They both were incredible. Twilight was indescribable and the best romance tale ever written, whereas VA was edgy, exciting, adventurous and more..intense? Felt more mature. Just my p.o.v
