But Natalie! There is so much more to see! L'Opera Garnier, Place des Vosges, Scare Couer, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, The Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, Monte Marte....We had nine days and didnt see enough.

Buts its okay, we all fancy different places, I totally understand. I dont want to visit any African countries at all. So each to her own, I guess.

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments Natalie, I would take days just at the museums. You have the Louvre, the Orsay, so many others... Plus Les Invalids AND everything Jess mentioned.

The African country I want to visit most is Egypt, but then that's arguably Middle Eastern.

Taylor, you must forget the Picasso Museum. It was closed for renovations when I went, but I'd love to see it. And the Rodin Museum-directly across the road from Les Invalids. Oh, and the Pompidu Centre. I visited the last two, plus the Louvre and Orsay. Adored them all.

However, my favorite gallery of the trip was probably Tate Modern in London. ThAt was marvelous.

message 204: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (taylorjaylene) | 4557 comments When I go to London, I want to do both Tate Britain and Tate Modern. Now every time I watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I look at Tate Modern while they destroy the Millenium Bridge. Yeah, I'm a nerd. ;)

Hahah, sounds like something I'd do. The view of the Thames/millenium Bridge/ saint Pauls Cathedral from the top level ( cafe) of Tate Modern is amazing. Not to mention they have wonderful hot chocolate which costs almost a fortune.

message 206: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Oh, I guess. It would be nice, but I rather go to Swedan (because I'm from there so that would just be amazing), Germany, or Italy. But to go anywhere would be fantastic.

I'd love to go to Egypt and then I would love to take a hot air balloon trip over the (im blanking on the word...) uhm, er, the grassy place with all the elephants and such.

Is it worth the fortune though? ;)

Natalie, do you mean the savannah???

message 208: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Nat....you crack me up.

I'd love to visit Paris and go to all the museums and just everything!

message 209: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Natalie - My uncle lives in Germany outside Munich and I love it there! It's definitely one of my favorite places to visit.

message 210: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Taylor, yes! Thank you. :) I was blanking.. I wanted to call it the sahara, so I'm glad I didn't hah.

Rae- yaaaay! :)

Anna- Two summers ago ago we had a German exchange student from Germany with a group of other people and we had such a connection with her that she came back last summer and she's coming back in October, so it would be fantastic to go and visit her in Germany. Plus, it looks beautiful & I would just love to go.

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Natalie- a German exchange student from Germany? Wow. I thought it would be an Italian from China. (okay, sorry. it's my sarcastic nature coming out.)

Hahhaah yep!

message 212: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Alright, so you made fun of me, which made me laugh, and now it's my turn, alright, Kate?

That's really cool! I hope you get to go. It's gorgeous up by the Alps, and Munich is one of my all time favorite cities.

message 214: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Thanks! I know, I look at pictures, and just those are gorgeous

message 215: by Frank (new)

Frank New Zealand would be cool. If I ever went there I would probably check out Australia as well. They are kinda close.

message 216: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 4295 comments Mod
New Zealand are out next door neighbours, kinda. Ive been there. Its amazing. Queenstown, Rotarua, the snow...I really want to go back.

message 217: by Mayze (new)

Mayze New Zealand seems really great and the pictures I've seen are beautiful. The plane ride would be super long tho

message 218: by Frank (new)

Frank I've always hated traveling, but I think that is going to change soon. I have started becoming interested in other cultures and lifestyles.

message 219: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Traveling is one of my favorite things to do :) I think it's super interesting to see people in other cultures and other countries, and there are so many amazing and interesting places in the world!

message 220: by natalie (last edited Jul 24, 2011 07:19PM) (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I love traveling, but the farhtest I've gone is to yellowstone. I'm in LA county.

New Zealand would be great, too. When I go to Austrailia, I'll go there.

message 221: by Frank (new)

Frank Well, I have always had a phobia of traveling. There is probably a name for it. But, I always feeling like the plane will crash, the car will break down at night, a boat will sink, etc. I used to be frightened of trains too. I guess I am kind of a pessimist when traveling.

Watching Lost (a show where a plane crashed on to a hidden island) didn't help things either.

message 222: by Mayze (new)

Mayze The farthest I've been is either Turkey or California. California is further distance, I think, but Turkey is definitely further culturally.

message 223: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Oh, I'm scared of planes, but I would just love to go somewhere.

message 224: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Planes kind of freak me out sometimes, but when I get nervous I think of how low the probability is that the plane will crash, and that makes me feel better.

message 225: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments That's reassuring.

message 226: by Mayze (new)

Mayze yeah that thought always makes me more relaxed about flying :)

message 227: by Frank (new)

Frank That's true though. Every year 0-2 planes crash, at least commercial planes in big airports. That's not a lot at all, but 'ya never know.

message 228: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I'm going to say more: ^_^

message 229: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Natalie wrote: "Alright, so you made fun of me, which made me laugh, and now it's my turn, alright, Kate?"

Sounds good to me.

On another note, I hate planes and flying too. It's probably a manifestation of my fear of heights, but I really don't like them. Sure I'll do it, because that means I can get to cool places, but it's not my favorite mode of travel.

message 230: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Hahaaha. :)

I'm scared of hights, too. And water. Parasailing over a lake = scariest thing ever. Kate, you took that last sentence out of my mouth.

message 231: by Mayze (new)

Mayze I'm not scared of heights, but I am claustrophobic, scared of crowds of people and flashing lights, which makes walking through times square miserable

message 232: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments I'm claustrophobic as well. Crowds, not flashing lights, though.

message 233: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Strobes don't bother me, just big areas like times square with lots of unnatural light and moving screens :( It makes me kind of nauseous

message 234: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Oh, Anna, i don't have that problem. that sucks, though.

Halley, I'm sure there's something intresting about you!

message 235: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Halley, everybody has something intresting about them, that's what's make you human.

message 236: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments OK, I'm sure there's something else, haha. Do you paint or draw? Can you sing? Do you play an instrument? Do you have red hair? Are you double jointed? Can you dance? Can you do the spilts? Can you do a cartwheel? There's many, many things.

message 237: by Frank (new)

Frank Having two left feet would fall under that category as well.

message 238: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Like Anna, I hate Times Square. The lights don't bother me, per se, but I hate crowds and loud noises, and get claustrophobic in big groups of people. It's why I could never live in a city. (ok, not never. I'm sure I will at some point, but...)

message 239: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments Frank B wrote: "Having two left feet would fall under that category as well."

Does that apply to you?

message 240: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Well Halley, if you're on here you probably like to read, which makes you interesting in my book!

message 241: by Mayze (new)

Mayze I did dance for a little bit, I wish I had kept doing it :)

message 242: by Mayze (last edited Jul 25, 2011 07:26AM) (new)

Mayze It didn't help that I fell on my face in the middle of my first show thingy...actually on my face :)

message 243: by Mayze (new)

Mayze murphy's law, right? A few years ago I was in my schools spring drama production, and the cast consisted of four people of which I was the only girl. We were doing this truly awful play in front of the entire school, and the main character forgot his lines for at least two minutes. We had gone out of order, so the person who was supposed to cue us in case we forgot could not figure out where we were! It was a disaster!

message 244: by Mayze (new)

Mayze Definitely one of my most embarrassing moments

message 245: by Frank (new)

Frank Kate wrote: "Frank B wrote: "Having two left feet would fall under that category as well."

Thankfully, it does not.

Frank! I love traveling! Seeing new countries and cities that are SOOOO different to your own. Its surreal.
Also, the long, 10 hour flights and airport delays are part of the experience. In September last year, my body clock was at 2AM when we landed in Kuala Lumpar airport. Then out flight was delayed by many hours, so its was about 4AM (my time, KL time was like, 9PM) when we finally left. Landed in London 8AM their time, had to stay up for a whole day. Body clock was so messed up for the first couple of days. Jet lag. Not a fun thing.

Oh! Im going to school now but I have a story to tell you about fear of flying and stuff that Frank mentioned before.

message 247: by Frank (new)

Frank I'm looking forward to the story. :D

I've never really been on a 10 hour flight. The longest flight for me was just over 3 hours.

message 248: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Frank, me too. Just over 3 hours, so it wasn't bad.

message 249: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I've not flown yet.....Hopefully it will go well.

message 250: by natalie (new)

natalie | 5047 comments Heeeeey! *whines* You didn't reply to what I said. >:/ :)
