Point System Rules
How do you know we did these things? Honesty System?
What do we win? When do we win? At the end of the year?
lol and you get how many points?
I got a few games to put on there.
Well, one of them is. I don't see how counting to 1000 is.
And then there is the last person to post wins and 1000 ways to get kicked off the bus.
UGH!!!! Okay! Don't make the game yet because it won't count on your points. You just win for the pleasure of winning. If this was a great big huge group, maybe the prize would be a givaway. I can easily tell what you've read and what you didn't. If I don't catch anything, then you may get free points, but you may take a high risk.I keep track for you guys.
Should we give points to those posting interesting comments? It would probably encourage non-spam discussions in this group.p.s. so does it mean I've already got 20 points for reading & discussing the book for May?
That is a good idea because we have SO MUCH SPAM! I might just give a couple points if I do. I'm not sure if I will or not.p.s. Yes, since we just have one book for May. If you create a game or invite a friend now, it doesn't count.
Oh. I'll delete my games then.
We need someone to delete spam.
I'm going to make a spam folder.

No
No

We delete spam in all the other folders and when we want to talk off topic we go to the spam folder and chat there.

We can't do that. That's where we spam from now on. I just REALLY want to delete it though...... We'll still have spam everywhere.
We will. Just make every folder a spam folder! :D
Emily wrote: "We will. Just make every folder a spam folder! :D"Agreed. Spamming is probably human nature. I personally don't quite mind spam, just hope to see a little more non-spam stuff.
Yeah. It gets kinda gets annoying after a while.
Okay, we can spam as long as it's realted and not like this:
Ok, I'll try. I will be in China from June 1 to June 28, where goodreads.com is probably blocked (another inconvenience of living in an authoritarian country), but I will try to log in through proxy or VPN.

But we don't seem to have the freedom of the press/association/assembly/etc. in mainland China.
So wait, no one ever got back to say what do you GET for all these points? What is the point of the points? hahaI just posted to the Creative Reviews group ((waves at Xdyj)) announcing that I'll be featuring my book here as a Secondary Group read in June (details shall be forthcoming soon so don't ask here - the thread shall be created and posted just as soon as Jonathan wakes up from his much needed sleep and I finish writing a blurb to post).
I invited all those 1000+ members to come on over here to join in the discussion. Does that mean I get points?

@phoenicianbooks
How 'bout you get minus five points for spam, then if a user has negative points for more than, say, a week you throw them out of the group?
Jeff wrote: "How 'bout you get minus five points for spam, then if a user has negative points for more than, say, a week you throw them out of the group?"I don't really think spamming is a problem in this this group currently.

Plus, really, are negative points in the spirit here? Not that I've yet to figure out the point of the points :-)

1. If a friend you invited joins, you get 5 points. Just message me that you invited someone.
2. If you finish the monthly book, you get 10 points. You get an extra 10 points if you discuss. Don't discuss unless you've actually read the book.
3. If you read a book (any book) you get 5 points. We will have a topic to post what books you've read in.
4. If you add any games you get 2 points.
5. If you participate in writing events, you will get 20 points. If you win an event, you get an additional 20 points.
DO NOT CHEAT! I can't stress that enough. Nothing is worse than working to win the most points and someone posts all these books that they haven't read or saying they invited these people when they didn't. Cheating can eliminate you from the point system. You may get a second chance and if it happens again, you may get removed from the group.
I may add more ways to get points if I have any ideas. Any questions?
