I love novels that depict family relationships so I really liked this one. Families are just so unique and all of us a part of a family that deals with problems. Still, the ties that bind family together are strong, even in the most dysfunctional ones.

The author did a good job drawing the reader in. Not so sure I liked how it seemed to end so abruptly!

I'm ok with novels without a plot as long as the author makes it up by developing strong characters and family relationships. You are correct this book was one of those!

This year I've read a couple of novels where the authors deliver a beautifully heartfelt story about family, friends and everyday life only to rush the ending. The most recent for me was "Blue Shoe" by Anne Lamott, great book but it's missing a chapter!
