Who's Your Author's 2011 Read-A-Thon!

For the months of June, July and August

What is it?

- This Read-A-Thon will involve people reading for as long as they can in a 24 hour period.
- If you can't read for a full 24 hours, see how long you can read for. Whether it ends up being 3 hours, 5 hours, 13 hours, 24 hours etc...
-EDIT: if you really want to do the full 24 hours and can't stay up late, than you can split the time between no more than 3 days. For example, doing 12 hours on Sat and then the remaining 12 hours on Sun. Or doing 8 hours on Fri, 8 on Sat and 8 on Sun. This is just for fun, so however you can participate is fine with us!

When is it?

- Normally there would be one set day in which everyone would do this. HOWEVER, due to people's varying schedules, we have decided to leave it open to the participants to pick their own day.
-Once you have picked your day post it HERE. This will be up for the length of the challenge.
-If you would like to do this Read-A-Thon more than once, you are more than welcome to!

What do I have to do to be involved?

-Once you have picked a day in which you will be completing the Read-A-Thon, go on to the Participant Sign Up Thread Click Here and post the day. (If you see someone else will be doing it the same day, you can message each other and create a thread to talk to one another throughout the day/night)
-You can also post up an anticipated reading list.
-After your Read-A-Thon is over (or during if you want to take a break from reading) you can post (or update) your stats HERE.

What stats should I post?

-The number of hours of reading time
-The number of books finished
-Which books were finished

Some optional stats to post:
-The number of pages read
-Your favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon
-The best part and worst part
-Strategy for staying awake
-Would you do this challenge again
-How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon (If you did it last year with us or with another group)
-Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone

What do I get for participating?

-A day of fun!
-This is a great way to get books off of that mile high TBR list
-Good way to connect with friends on GoodReads because you can do this challenge with other people
-There are no prizes for this, but there will be awards posted for those with the most books, the most pages, and the most time spent reading. There also may be a few others.

If you have any questions feel free to ask them here. We have tried to include as much information as possible, but someone may think of another question to ask. So feel free.

Thanks and have fun!!
-Jess
