I feel like this time around I didn't read as much, but listened to my audio books more. I also seemed to read piece meal books, and only finished 2 whole books.
Books that I read were:

Number of hours of reading time: 24 (+ a little)
-- Number of books finished: 3.5
-- Which books were finished:

-- The number of pages read: 1,015
Note: Possibly the longest chat thread created in 3 days time. A total of 1,240 posts! It's almost like a cliff-notes version of the books. LOL! Beware of spoilers!!
Favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon: Sitting in oversized chair
The best part and worst part: Best part is re-reading a favorite series along w/a friend who loves it just as much as I do. It was fun sharing favorite lines and scenes and seeing that we'd just posted the same exact thing. Great minds, I tell ya.
Worst part is refreshing the thread over and over. Not seeing the page advance (on the thread) caused a few LOL moments for each of us, I think.
Strategy for staying awake: Too many sodas, great company and trying not to get too comfortable on the bed while reading early in the AM.
Would you do this challenge again: Yes.
How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon (If you did it last year with us or with another group): This time around we talked about less RL stuff. I think it was because we were reading the same books and focused on what we liked or disliked about each book.
Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone: I don't know if I'd say helpful, but definitely, positively more fun when done with a friend!
I had to snicker when I saw Darcy's list of 12 books read. We were a bit heavy on the chatter while enjoying our re-reads, hence the 1,200+ posts. ;)

Only difference was I was sitting at my desktop computer rather than a nice comfy chair.
We both read significantly less than last year, but had so much fun it didn't matter.
Looking forward to WYA's next Read-a-thon.
Thanks Jess

It looks more impressive that it was. I split my 24 hours into 2 days with a day in between, so I only really read 2 books all the way through. The rest I only read/listened to parts.

Ah, good to know, Darcy. I was really feeling inadequate there for a minute. LOL!

-The number of books finished - 9

-The number of pages read 3,187 pgs
-The best part and worst part - I ended up splitting the time this year and I felt a little less tired than I did last year. When my eyes started bothering me, I just stopped for the day and kind of saved up my energy for the next day. Although I didn't get that same feeling like I was doing a RAT.. I just felt like I was reading a lot. So maybe it would be better for me to keep it all one day. Who knows?
-Would you do this challenge again - Yes
-How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon (If you did it last year with us or with another group) - I read the same number of books
-Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone - I liked doing it both ways. Doing it with a friend allowed me to come online and post what I was doing and it helped break up the reading a bit.

I just read fast lol.

-The number of hours of reading time 24hrs and 15m:
-The number of books finished: 4 (no long ones)
-Which books were finished
When Wolf Comes-John Pappas

The Girl Most Likely To...-
Some optional stats to post:
-The number of pages read: 894
10 Audio CDS
-Your favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon: On the lazy boy recliner
-The best part and worst part: got some housework done with the audiobooks and then didn't get enough housework done with all the print reading.
-Strategy for staying awake: lots of caffiene, no reading in bed (knocks me right out)
-Would you do this challenge again-Yes!
-How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon (If you did it last year with us or with another group)-First one for me
-Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone-Did it alone. Probably more helpful to me as I'm easily distracted by conversation.

I know what you mean. It's so hard to savour those highly anticipated new releases when we finally get them in our hands. Enjoy!
WTG, Mary!

LOL, I was thinking I should do the same, having just read the first 4. I certainly read MS way too fast.

Yeah, it's hard when you get that book you've been waiting a year for and go through it slowly. It's just not possible for me lol.

2 Books
6 1/2 Hours (just over 1/2) of audio book
Day Two 9 1/2 hours
8 1/2 hours on audio, finished the two books I had started
and read about 3/4 of the book
Day 3 4 1/2 hours
2 3/4 books
So in 24 hours I listened to 1 1/2 Audio books

Completed 5 Books

Read roughly 850 pages (give or take...some of the kindle books don't give page numbers) and 14 hours of Audio
I would do this again, but it was more fun last year doing it with a partner....

1. The number of hours of reading time: 24+
2. The number of books finished: 3
3. Which books were finished: Minion by LA Banks, After the Storm by Jaid Black, The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks
4. The number of pages read: 1371
5. The best part: Finishing each book
6. The worst part: I accidentally fell asleep for almost an hour, so I had to add another hour at the end.
7. Strategy for staying awake: I washed my face and brushed my teeth every couple hours. The cool water and minty toothpaste was a pick-me-up.
8. Would you do this challenge again? Yes!

Number of hours of reading time: 24 (Day 1: 10; Day 2: 7; Day 3: 7
Number of books finished: 5
Which books were finished: Broken, No Humans Involved, Secrets of the Demon, A Quick Bite, Late Eclipses
I would definitely do this again. It was great to get books off of my TBR list. I think next time I want to try to go 24 hours straight if my schedule will let me. :)

1. The number of hours of reading time: 24+
2. The number of books finished: 3

Love

Reading time:
Day 1: 8 hours
Day 2: 9 hours
Day 3: 6.5 hours
Number of books finished: Three complete books read, one book i started reading before marthon and finished during.
Which books were finished:

Number of pages read: 1252
Your favorite reading position: Outside in the shade.
The best part and worst part: Best part reading outside, worst part being distracted by the need to make pie recipes.
Strategy for staying awake: I Spread it out over 3 days this time and did not need a strategy to stay awake.
Would you do this challenge again: Yes, hopefully next time no other obsession will get in the way.
How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon: I think I did better last time.
Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone: I did it alone.

The number of books finished:4
Which books were finished:

The number of pages read: 1028 pages
Your favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon: lying in bed
(wasn't by choice but my new mama cat wouldn't let me out of the room) LOL
The best part and worst part: I'm all gungho to read until I actually sit down to do it, then I don't want to. Hardest part is to keep reading instead of playing with my four month old kittens.
Strategy for staying awake: caffeine and sugar
Would you do this challenge again: absolutely, it helps me finish my monthly challenges!
How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon: I think I read more this time.
Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone: I did it alone as I think chatting with a friend while reading would lessen the amount of books read.

The number of books finished: 6
Which books were finished:

The number of pages read: 2238
Your favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon: Lying on the couch w/the dog (a toy aussie)
The best part and worst part: Best: Reading a series w/a friend & getting the whole two days to do it w/no rush. Worst: Having to work the night before and not getting off work till late the morning of the RAT (was VERY late getting off work). I was exhausted by the time I got home & really struggled to stay awake.
Strategy for staying awake: lol I was over 2hrs late getting out of the hospital (work) so my "stay awake" strategy kinda went out the window. I actually found myself waking up more than once after nodding off w/my nook on my chest or where ever it landed after I dozed off on the couch w/the dog. And I drank coffee too! Exhaustion won out pretty often & I dozed for 30min on & off the 1st several hours but still got my hrs in for the 1st day. I just read longer the 2nd to make up for it. ;)
Would you do this challenge again: OMG YES!!!!! I loved it. It was sooooo much fun. (I'll be sure not to work the night before the RAT next time!!) I really had a lot of fun. Especially having such a great friend to read w/and the fact we were both reading the same series for the RAT made it that much more fun!
Was it helpful to do this with a friend, or alone: I did this w/Pansy, one of my GR friends. I'm really glad I had a partner or I woulda probably slept through the whole thing my 1st day of reading b/c I was so tired. We exchanged cell #'s & it really helped texting one another in addition to messaging one another on our thread.

The number of books finished: 2
Which books were finished:
Sleeping with the Fishes by Mary Janice Davidson
Heartless by Gail Carriger
The number of pages read: 658
Favorite reading position during the Read-A-Thon: Any position that took the pressure of pregnancy off my lower back...usually on the couch with the armrest in the small of my back!
The best part and worst part: Best: Getting to catch up on some books that I've been wanting to read since June. Worst: Every time I would start getting into the book, a child or my spouse would interrupt and it would take 10-15 minutes to get back into a grove, just to have to stop again.
Strategy for staying awake: I didn't have one...I am 4 days from delivery and knew that when I started to fall asleep, it was best to stop and start again later.
Would you do this challenge again: Most definitely! I really enjoyed the time I spent reading and would have loved to be able to read without interruptions. Next year I'm sending my husband and the kids off for the daylight hours so I can actually read continuously for more than an hour.
Was it helpful to do this with a friend or alone: I did it alone and that was okay. However, I think it would be fun to do it with a friend.

The best part and worst part
Loosing power and having to read a bit by candlelight...good part was at least it was large print :-)Let me just say if you have to read by candle light nothing is better than a plate of tea lights bright light and not to hot.
Would you do this challenge again
Yes I would totally do again next year
How did it compare to the last time you did a Read-A-Thon
Last year I tried to stick with my list this year I read 20 pages into a book and if I did not feel like it I let it go. I also took a lot of breaks and it was very relaxing.
