I will definitely be doing this, I'm just not sure when. Probably after June 17th (which is my last day of work before summer starts)
I'm definitely in, I just don't know my date yet. I'm pretty sure it will be sometime in late July or Aug.
I'm in & so is Pansy, we're going to partner up on it. Am excited & really lookin forward to it! ;)We're still choosin books and tryin to figure out what day. Will keep ya posted!
Pansy and I are planning on doing the RAT July 24. We're still trying to narrow down what series we want to read for it though. There's just so many choices...
I am in, will probably do it this weekend as I don't have a lot planned. Not sure for books as I am planning on hitting the library tomorrow.
Okay, Jess. Pansy & I will be doing the RAT July 24th. She'll be reading the Riley Jensen series by Keri Arthur & I'll be reading the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. We're excited, this'll be the 1st RAT either of us will have ever participated in. It's gonna be so fun!!! ;)
Awesome everyone!Keri as the date gets closer you can put up a thread so you can keep your progress updated when you get too bored of reading. Or if Pansy is in this group you guys can talk on the thread every once in awhile.
@Darcy - I wonder if it will be better this year lol.

That's a great idea, Jess! I never even thought of doin a thread. I'll be sure to pass that on to Pansy.
I'm going to be doing it June 18th or 19th. I need to start stockpiling books! If anyone wants to join me on that day, let me know!
Jess, just to let you know Steph & I will be reading Tues - Thursday, 14-16 June (our time, Japan-Aus). So we'll open up a thread, like last year, when we start. We decided on doing a complete Kate & Curran re-read in honour of Magic Slays. LOL
Woohoo! Lookin' forward to it! Thanks again for hosting this Jess. Gives Sandra & I an excuse to ignore chores and read all day. :D
Awesome Sandra and Steph!! I love the idea of the re-reading the Kate series. No problem Steph! As long as people want to do it, I will hold it lol.
This sounds awesome! I'm in! I'll probably do this sometime in July, won't know the exact date until I get my work schedule.
I'm in and I'm not sure on a date yet or a book list, the books will depend on the date and I'm not sure if I want to pick books ahead. Do I have to post a book list to participate?
Sarah - you don't have to post up a booklist before you do your read-a-thon. If you would like, you could create a thread and keep track of your books as you go along or you can post in the FINAL STATS thread what you read.
I will be doing my reading this Friday (17th) and Sunday (19th), from 10am to 10pm.I will post my books afterwards as I am hitting the library tomorrow and lately have been picking quite a few duds.
Jess, need to update ya. Pansy & I are going to do the RAT over 2 days vs 1 so it'll be on July 23 & 24. Neither one of us think we'll be able to go 24hrs straight ;)Also, I've changed my reading list. Pansy will still be reading Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series but I'll be rereading it with her rather than me reading the Night Huntress series.
We've also both decided that if we finish our series before the 24hrs is up, we'll both reread the Highlander series by Karen Marie Moning till we hit the 24hr mark.
We're also going to do as you suggested & post a thread to update our progress & gab. I'll post it a day or so before our RAT. Thanks again for the suggestion!!!
I might do it this coming weekend. My kid might be spending the night at her grandparents on Friday. And usualy when she goes over on Friday, they keep until Sunday. She's 13 so it's not like she needs much supervision. But still-if she's home, I won't get as much reading done.

Sounds great Keri! And if you decide to change your reading list, don't worry about it. I have a stack of books in my house and I'm just going to pick from them depending on my mood. Last year I tried to plan out exactly which books and I ended up not liking it that way because I would "have" to read a book despite not really wanting to at the moment.
If you want you can check out Steph and Sandra's thread as an example of what you could do.
Mary that sounds like a good plan. You can let us know what you read after, or you can update on a thread along the way. Either is great :)

Darcy - I will be doing Sunday as well, maybe from like 12:00 pm on.. if you want to do a thread we could both pop in once in awhile if we need a break. We don't have to though, just a thought! :)
I think Sandra & I created GR's longest thread (in 3 days, that is). LOL! I just couldn't help myself and found I was compelled to type out so many bits throughout the books. Great for my terrible memory too, now I can refer back to my lengthy cliff notes. LOL! Thanks again for hosting. We had a great time - again and will surely participate whenever you hold it again. We'll be posting our final stats soon.
Just gotta work out the numbers. LOLHad a great time, thanks Jess. Hope we entertained the group as well :D
lol you guys are awesome! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. If people really like it, maybe we can do this twice a year or something? I just know that during the summer people have more free time. We'll see what happens.
Question: if you spread the read athon over 2 or 3 days-do you only count 24hrs worth? Or if I end up reading more than 24hrs worth in those 3 days do I count it all?
If you end up with 25 or 27 hours that's no big deal. But try to keep it as close to 24 as possible.
OK I am starting tonight at 9pm EST. I will split it up into 6/17, 6/18 and possibly 6/19. Depending on how late I can stay up tonight. I waited to put dates until I knew for sure that the kiddo was going to my parent's house.
My probable reads:
At Home At Stone Creek by Linda Lael Miller
The Girl Most Likely To by Susan Donovan
Destiny by Alex Archer
Warrior by Zoe Archer (if I can get it in)
and I will probably finish up Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian.
I think I'm going to give this a shot. I'm anticipating having plenty of time to read over the holiday weekend, so I think I'm going to try to spread it out over July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I'll most likely work on reading the Midnight Breed series, and if for some reason I finish those, I'll probably work on Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld. Lord knows my TBR pile is big enough to get me through 24 hours. :)
I'm going to do 24 hours straight (I hope!). I'm planning to start Sunday July 3rd around 7pm and finish up Monday July 4th around 7pm. Not sure what I'll be reading yet...I'm going to play that by ear. I don't think I'm going to be able to handle anything too complicated to follow after the first 15 hours!
I really love Yasmine Galenorn's book series, and Karen Chance, but I've been hitting the Young Adult section pretty hard lately. It started with the Twilight Saga, then the Vampire Academy Series and the Vampire Diaries, and now I'm totally loving the House of Night series.I read "Passion Play" by Beth Bernobich, loved it,and can't wait for the sequel!
