Ah... I wish she hadn't cut so many of the tree speaking scenes. I really never understood those parts

message 215: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Yeah, but I can see why she did.
I'm just glad that we now have a better idea of tree-speaking. Because it was a little confusing.

message 216: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
But why did she?

message 217: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Because it might have been repetitive of another part where she explained. Maybe it just didn't fit well anywhere and broke up the flow.
There are many reasons to take parts out.

They all seemed amazing to me. I didn't miss them until I'd read them

Maybe you shouldn't have read them, but I do see the point.

So. Has anyone gotten Palace of Stone yet?

Me! Me! Me!

Dani's currently reading it. I finished it in ONE DAY. It wasn't as... kid oriented as Hale's other books, but it was still awesome.

I think I was the first one to get it at my local B&N. Apparently, they had loads of copies and an actual display case for them, but no one got around to putting it out, and the employee had to fetch it for me from the storeroom.

I liked it a lot, but it was still a bit simplistic for my taste. Which isn't exactly a bad thing; there's still a lot of depth to it and it's the kind of children's book that can - and should - be appreciated by adults, but...I guess it's that after reading some really dense philosophy essays...most books that delve into philosophy just aren't going to be deep enough to do anything for me, if that makes sense.

message 223: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments i really need to get it, but i dont think i'll be able to for another two months or so. one of the problems with living where i live is that there is a limited supply of English books and it's really expensive to have them shipped here. my grandparents are coming in two months though so they'll bring it for me. eveyrtime any relatives come to visit i get a ton of books. i dont have to pay for them either :)

Have you ever heard of the Book Depository? They offer free shipping to a lot of different countries.
