message 151: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) he's also a coward. he claims to have loved Katniss from the beginning, yet he never even spoke a word to her! Gale on the other hand, has helped her hunt, and has protected her for years!

message 152: by Emily (new)

Emily Aww, but he's so kind and caring and sweet!

message 153: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) ... yep -_-

I didn't like Peeta that much in the first books.... He was okay by the end...

message 155: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I always liked him.
Not everyone can be blood thirsty and 'brave' like Gale.
Peeta had a soul.

message 156: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) everyone has a soul. even Snow and Coin.

message 157: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) except that they're fictional characters.

message 158: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Well, yeah, but Peeta was a lot kinder and had more integrity than Gale. I think anyway.

message 159: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments peeta annoyed me so much. he just didnt interest me. gale had more character, i felt. and we saw peeta saw much more!!! the only time he wasnt boring was in the third book when he hated katniss......

message 160: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Gale was just a jerk. I mean, yeah, he was nice to Katniss, and he helped her hunt. But in the third book? Such a meany.
And I think he just didn't get Katniss after the games. After she came home, she had seen so many things that Gale just couldn't understand.
Peeta did understand though.

message 161: by Naomi (last edited Jun 22, 2011 11:57AM) (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments yeah, sure, gale was a jerk and peeta understood her, but i dont mind him being a jerk. he was a better character. i always end up liking the jerks and villains in books better then the good and nice guys. they are so much more interesting and have so much more character...

message 162: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid That is the difference, when it comes to boys I like the sweet ones. I love villains though. I just like sweet heroes. Nice and kind ones.

message 163: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments nah, the sweet ones bore me. not all the time, but mostly. unless they are written really well and have a personality other then sweet. cuz it doesnt seem real to me to always be nice, if you know what i mean....

message 164: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Yeah, I get that. I like the kind who have esteem issues and all that. Like Yuki from Fruits Basket for instance. I loved him and he was extremely sweet.

message 165: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments i duuno what fruit basket is, but ok.
i just like them to be real. i dont care what type of issues they have. they dont even have to have issues. just be real in some sort of way!!!

Peeta was weak

message 167: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
No, I take that back. Peeta was simply good. Gale was strong and moral-less

message 168: by Emily (new)

Emily But Peeta DID have morals and that was good! And he was strong in his way, too. And he valued life way more than either Katniss or Gale. Like how he didn't want to kill people.

message 169: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments so what??? he was boring. and it was a book about evil stuff anyway, not killing just made him seem weak.

message 170: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid In my mind, Peeta was the strongest of them all.
Gale and Katniss were both weak in allowing themselves to be manipulated into acting wrongly.
Gale wanted to kill people. Why, his bomb? The one that kills people and then kills the people who tried to help afterword!
And he gave up on Katniss without even a fight. He just disappeared after Prim's death.

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
thats why everyone thinks he's a looser

message 172: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Yes, exactly!

message 173: by Emily (new)

Emily Yeah that part at the end... I was so disappointed in Gale. Actually, I was disappointed in him throughout the entire third book. In the first one I liked him better than Peeta.

message 174: by Emily (new)

Emily (lafillebrigitte) personally, i tend not to even count the third book it was so bad

message 175: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments the third book was horrible. i only read it to know how it ended.

message 176: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod

I think Gale became like Finnick in the end. You know? like a um (view spoiler)

message 180: by Hannah, Don't TOUCH my Title Klymy. (new)

Hannah | 3223 comments Mod
Yeah he did in a way. I didn't like Gale.. (view spoiler) GAH. That was terribly sad

message 181: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Finnick I liked it. It made me sad when he died. *Sniff*
WHY?

message 182: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
Because Suzanne Collins became a butcher by the end of the series. Prim and Finnick? *swears profusely*

message 183: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I was mad about that. I mean, he had just married Annie and she was going to have a baby!
And Prim? SHE WAS AMAZING.
Suzanne Collins...
You, you, you, morph!

Lame attempt at the insult?

message 185: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid At least I didn't call her a pickled onion. I did think it though.

message 186: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
Are Pickled onions good?

message 187: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid No, they are sour and bad. Blech. I don't like them, so I made them into an insult. If someone annoys me, I call them a pickled onion.

message 188: by Emily (new)

Emily Yeah, I could hardly believe it when Finnick died. I just kept reading that part over and over.

message 189: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
Was it like "holy toledos, I can't believe that just happened"? or "That's so sad, let's read it again?"

message 190: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid The first. In my case anyway.

message 191: by Katerina, Mother Gothel's Cake (new)

Katerina (klymene) | 2740 comments Mod
lol. I was more like the second one.

message 192: by Emily (new)

Emily For me, the first one. I just couldn't believe Finnick could die.

message 193: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I was kind of confused actually. It took me a while to realize he was dead and then I was sad.

message 194: by Hannah, Don't TOUCH my Title Klymy. (new)

Hannah | 3223 comments Mod
Okay so Suzanne was quite heartless in the last book. I mean I HATED Katniss, Gale was terrible. So was her mom, Prim AND Finnick died....Good grief. You want your readers to LOVE your finale. Not hate it!

message 195: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I didn't hate it, it just made me sad. If anything, I liked it because it made me cry. I love books that made me feel in pain.

message 196: by Hannah, Don't TOUCH my Title Klymy. (new)

Hannah | 3223 comments Mod
That's really interesting Way! Haha...I suppose I don't hate it I just deeply depise and not like it. :D

@(^_^)@!!!

message 197: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Really, my favorite books are the ones that had me on the floor sobbing my poor little heart out. Sometimes, I have my family worried because I'm having a complete meltdown because someone died or something in a book.

The Light Failed...
*Sniff*
Green Mansions
*Crys*
Uncle Tom's Cabin....
*INCONSOLABLE SOBBING*

message 198: by Hannah, Don't TOUCH my Title Klymy. (new)

Hannah | 3223 comments Mod
Wow. I guess I should read them.....Thought maybe not if I don't want to be on the floor...

message 199: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (purplebookdragon) | 900 comments i HATED uncle toms cabin!!! its horrible!!! i actually started re-reading it today but it was so bad i stopped in the middle.
