SOLVED. Strangers who meet when surviving a bomb attack together [s]

This is an old romance story.

A man and a woman are trapped in rubble after a bomb goes off. (I think it might have happened in a bank, but I'm not sure.)

They spend hours trapped together, although they can't see each other - only hear each other's voices.

After they survive, they meet face-to-face, then go back to their former lives.

But they can't forget each other as the strain of their trauma affects their separate lives.

They only find comfort in what they shared.

It ends, I believe, with them leaving their respective partners and moving on together.

I simply can't remember the name of this book! Please help if you know what it is.

SOLVED. I found the book among my several million other books! It didn't take place in a bank - rather in a department store.

It's called: STRANGERS by Rosie Thomas (1987)

In fact, I found that it's been reviewed here on GOODREADS.
