Aaah, that's so sweet. When someone is genuinely kind that way, and obviously humble, son't you just want to please them? I don't mean that in a weird way, I just mean to see them smile?
First he thought I thanked him for having my wage getting on my account now. But I explained him that I was thanking him for what he did and for solving the problem for me. Then he became shy.He is only my team leader since four weeks but he seems to be a very nice and kind person.
YAY Fiona! That's one of my favorite things! Especially since I work from home, and don't have to drive in it. I was wondering how much snow you see there.Back to Outlander!
Fiona wrote: "SNOW!!! We have SNOW! But not much and very windy so they're just blowing around in the air at the moment.I hope it lays a bit."
Lucky you. The temperature dropped four degrees in the last hour and it was only six.
I have a suspicion it doesn't snow much. So that is why it has been so quiet, Outlander!!!!
Fiona-I really believe Dahl is meant to be read aloud! Of course the Chocolate Factory is our favorite, quickly followed by Matilda and James and the Giant Peach. Do you have any nieces or nephews you could read to? You have to make funny voices. Oh! the BFG. I can make my children just die laughing doing the funny voices for that one. (just be sure NO ONE else is listening)
Matilda is an awesome book. :DThat's great that your nieces and nephews are readers. I have a cousin who doesn't read but he's all gangster and has pictures of naked women on his walls. (Gah) He's only thirteen.
I have a three year old cousin who is really smart and adorable. He LOVES to read.
Fiona wrote: "My mum's fished out some old book of mine when I was a kid. Yay! I have some Roald Dahl books. I wonder if I'll still like them? I did as a kid. I've always wanted to read The Witches again."Since they made me read one or two in school I dislike them. Will try to read one sometimes to see if I might like it anyway by now.
I would about die if one of my sns had a picture of, even, a SCANTILY clad woman on his wall! Oh my gosh!BFG is probably the best. Snozzcombers, whizbangers, all those terrific made up words!!!! You can still read them aloud, just be sure your door is closed;)
Maybe, I started watching them in the library for the chocolate task but they didn't ahve that one and that way I started thinking about reading one. Probably Mathilda as that is the one i remember we had to read for sure at school.
I only remember reading Matilda actually...but I do know that I read Charlie and BFG, I just don't really remember them.Hah, yeah, I have serious issues with it, I'm planning to give him hell.
How is Outlander going everybody? I am finsihing Angels, not bad at all even if I thought it would be an empty, gossiping, girly story...I like it. Wanna get that call saying th ebook arrived. I am reading the posts about it but not with spoilers and don't like it that way. And nobody tell me not to read the posts then till I ahve the book!!!!
Fiona- That's like my trying to slip in Vermicious Knids! How funny. I HAVE NOT seen the cartoon. I maybe don't want to, 'cause like I said, my kids lkove the voices I do. I would hate for them to realize I don't actually do a good job!!!Jeane-It's a really good book. I was so concerned about the "romance" part, but willing to look ovr it, if everyone was reading it, and we could discuss it. I think because that was so hyped up, andit hasn't appearred yet, I am ACTUALLY looking forward to it!
Today is the Supebowl, which I am sure means nothing to you girls not in America. It's a super big deal here. My house will be full of men, and teenage boys. I am going to see Benjamin Button. I am also going to buy a package of hobnobs (even if they ARE $5) and sneak them in the movies in my purse. I so want to love them!!!!!!
Yeah, Superbowl doesn't really mean anything here.Although HOCKEY does. I'm not a sports person though.
It is so funny to scroll through my friend's list and see so many same books next to the picture, all looking like Outlander!!!!
I am incredibly lucky. If I DO really like them, I just need to make that very clear, and my incredibly thoughtful hsband will surprise me with them when he thinks of it! He is very sweet about that kind of thing. Especially since he has more pocket money than me. *wink*I just love the name... Hobnob!
Jeane: glad you pay has been figured out.
Jeane: Melville is a bit boring. Like I said I find it interesting how they did the whale hunting, Keep in mind I absolutley love whales & dolphins so It breaks my heart. But I am looking at it as a historical event. I can honestly see how whale's population began to dwindle. If only the folks back then knew what they were taking from us.
Fiona: you have snow! Yeah! I was trying to figure out how to send some too you!
Esther have fun on your time off!
Kandice: I am lucky because I have a house full of girls so we are playing games, reading maybe watching a movie be we are participating in the no TV for a week I think that starts today. We were invited to a superbowl party but I am not going. I really don't like watching football.
Emma Your not missing out on anything not having the superbowl! Sorry to anyone who likes american football.
"Book infections" I like it Fiona!
THat is what one of my diseases is called. I also have quilt infection and scrapbook infection.

I think I am the only one here right now so I am typing to myself for you all to read at a later time. LOL!
Fiona was telling me the other day about eating hobnobs. They are an English oatmeal biscuit, with chocolate on one side. They sounded so good, and nwo they have them at my grocery. VERY expensive according to Fi, though.
Oh, I am going to have to find them and try them.
That sounds nasty!!!! My husband thought hobnob was a lewd (but desirable) action!!!! First the moon, now he is defiling cookies/biscuits! I swear, he really is a nice man.
It was teh castle one. She wants me to buy if for her!
I bought two package of Reese's peanut butter hearts (jsut like the eggs at Easter-I guess these are for valentines day) Okay I have officially eaten 1 1/2 packs that is 9 today. What is my problem!
I am going to have my dad hunt them down. He retired last year and has an antique store he specailizes in books. He loves when I give him a title he goes to town. He found me a book that is no longer published in 3 hours. I'm going to send him the list as my daughter is obessed with Twilight & Harry Potter so I am so glad to find her someone else to read. Thanks for the recommend it helps that I told her it was from a friend on GR!
Heaven forbid my child read a book I recommend! ha ha!

We actually hit almost 40 degrees today! Yeah! WE have had such a cold spell that It's been miserable!
And snow. I actually have had snow most of January which is unusually for Chicago.
Are snow is frozen so it's no fun. Due to the -10 degrees plus that we have had out here. We hit a record of -40. I am so missing spring!
Fiona wrote: "The snow's quite thick for this place outside. I hope it lasts. I want to kick it around, I haven't done that in what feels like years. Probably just be slippery and I'll just fall on my butt."This thread sounds like you are talking about the Northeast, North Shore of Massachusetts to be exact! At least now I can see that it's pure ice, but what happens when the next snow falls? Sure hoping that Phil does NOT see his shadow tomorrow!!!
I totally forgot about ground hog day. I am so with you Liz!
Fiona is in GB. I so want to visit!

We don't get the sun much in the winter time in Chicago I can empathize with you. That is why I want the spring!
Maybe I should come visit & bring it with me? It that were possible.
I so want to visit England. I also want to do some genealogy while I am out there but I would need to plan a very long Holiday as I had family in the Northern, central and southern parts of England, plus Wales, scotland & Ireland.
I also want to go to Stonehedge. I just need to travel for a year or too!

Emilee - I became completely addicted to Reese's eggs when I was pregnant w/my daughter and gained close to 50 lbs. I was buying them by the case toward the end! The hearts are great too!!
I am logging off as I need to read to my son & get to bed. I have to get up at 5:00 am tomorrow. Yuck!
Fiona I hope you're going to bed as I know it is very late for you! Write with you tomorrow! :)

I think I need another peanut butter heart. Dang they are so addictive!
Stonehenge is weird. It's literally in the middle of nowhere. But the cathedral in nearby Salisbury is gorgeous. I even liked driving through the town to get to the cathedral, it was just what I imagined a little British town would look like. The US is so modern, I like the oldness of Europe.
Unbelievably, when I stopped to pick up a pack...They were GONE!!!! I guess the British section of the grocery is going to do a rip-roaring business! My mother-in-law, who lives 2 towns over is going to another Albertson's today, and if they have them, she is picking some up for me. I was so disapointed.BTW-Benjamin Button was the BEST movie. I cried for the last 20 minutes, and as we were leaving, I saw almost every woman was crying! It was set mostly in New Orleans, my favorite place in the world. (so far)

Kandice, I think no crush at all. But he is a very nice person and I think someone really thanking him for helping made him a bit blushy because it brought the shy part up in him.
