Kandice Oh! I love them all, but Shaun (15 yrs old) is the one who is going to save the world! He is a wise old spirit in a teenaged body! He may be my favorite person in the entire world!!!! But, that does not lessen my love for his brother and sister, (they are more fun:).

Kandice I was teasing about the language! I even put hell in there so you would know!!!
I may be wrong, but I bet you have quite a mouth miss Fiona! That's a little part of sassy. Sometimes that can be very charming! My husband teases me because I always use made up things instead of curses, like "Son of a biscuit!" or "Motherhumper".

message 2714: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I was boiling at work this afternoon. My team leader asked if I got my payslip by mail...I was like, no..It is my first one there so its a bit new. But when i didn't get it he told me to call payrolls. so I did and they told me they didn't ahve my bank details so I wouldn't get paid...I had to contact HR, so i did. I went to the person that I gave documents about two weeks ago or more and ther was the paper with all my bank details. So i told her. i get a mail from her asking if i filled in the document attached. I told ehr I did and send it back to the recruitment agency before starting to work. They told me it wasn't a problem I didn't ahve my bank details yet, i could give them when I started. I told her again I gave her back at work all documents and also the one with all my bank details. The answer back, I will send everything through by mail to payrolls. I thought it was going okay. So i ask ehr if she thinks I will still be paid before the weekend (we get paid the 28th)and she is so kind to inform me that ebcause they received my bankdetails too late I will only get peid by end february! I didn't work much anymore for the rest of the day! My team leader told me that is rubish and he would talk to his manager so that something could be done. I hope tomorrow he has good news but I am not that sure. Shall I give the stupid B**** my bills and rent next month???!!!!!

That sucks Jeane.

message 2717: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh my gosh!!!! I think you need to absolutely insist they fix it! I know it's not like you can threaten to quit, (I would assume you need the job) but they sure as hell can't expect you to work 2 months without being paid for it! I realized oyu aren't actually working for nothing, you will eventually get it, but you need to eat! (and books) You seem on the quiet side, (like me) but you just need to march in there and demand a check! By Friday! That gives them 3 days to figure it out!!!!!!!!!!!

message 2718: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My father has this incredibly deep, rumbly voice, and he never seems upset, but he curses like the worst kind of sailor. He's just speaking and the F-bomb just rolls out. Sometimes I think it takes people a while to even realize that he has used almost every oath in a 10 minute conversation because his voice is so nice to listen to.
It's never "Can I have a towel." It's always "Can you hand me that son of a whore towel?". I always have to warn my children, DO NOT REPEAT!!!!

message 2719: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I came upon my younger son once at the icecream shop down the street. He had been out riding his bike with his friends, and I had driven my daughter and her friend down there, so he didn't expect me. I heard him say words he would NEVER EVER say in front of me. His sister was giggling hysterically! We left (without icecream) and after talking to my husband, decided not to say anything unless he spoke that way in front of us. They were all doing it, and I think it was the novelty, but now, I always wonder...

I will see what my team leader says tomorrow. He was not happy at all and asked his manager if she has some time to talk and would try to do something about it.... I mean the one i gave the documents filled in and on time tells me 'because we didn't receive your details on time'...... sorry but won't even manage a freindly smile anymore towards her. she only gets cold Jeane!

I once sat on the bus in Nottingham and there were two older men sitting behind me. they were talking so loud but the part of their conversation I keeo remembering is how they manage to say 'fuck' in that amount in one sentence and do it in every setence!!! I mean I hated it but they were incredible! It mustn't be easy..

message 2722: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I often laugh at my dad. He is just so nonchalant about it, and he simply can not be curbed. I begged him at my wedding to behave, as my husband's family are strict Catholics and wouldn't say poop if they had a mouthful. He lasted through the service, but the reception... Forget it! The only saving grace is that he is also incredibly charming. I don't know how he manages that, but people are rarely offended! Maybe because he is such an inventive curser they are entertained for free?

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Just finished I'm not scared and know that took it for the winter challenge...but don't remember for which task....I wanna add points!!!!!

Okay, I better don't start reading Jonathan Strange as that is my book for work..so need to choose my next book.

message 2727: by Emma (new)

Although I am proud. Very proud.

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments That's exactly what it is! A chat room in slow motion.

I like being able to be myself (aka be insane) and be accepted.

It's what TNBBC is all about.

Oh, and books too.

message 2729: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I don't think I could even try to push my favorite books on you guys! Well, other than Wild Cat. They are all super long, or just weird!

There are worse things to be than a bookpusher!

Emma- I'm sorry, but I still see the nostrils of your emu as the eyes so it looks like a cute, sweet, little hedgehog...squint your eyes and see if you can see it. It's sooooo cute!!

message 2730: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Well, I'll be the hedgehog/emu than.

I'll be two animals in one.

I will also be Gemma Doyle.

message 2739: by Kandice (last edited Jan 27, 2009 02:25PM) (new)

Kandice Sorry Fi, I didn't see that one! I see...Thank you for the hug. (I WAS included, right?)

So, I hope you feel powerful. You type a suggestion and your subjects bow to your request!!!!

Emma, I think that book is already on my TBR, but I did not know it was a trilogy. I actually have a little extra, so I may buy that one too. But only if they're not $20 each or something!!!!

And Rachel, I get sooooo confused! I didn't see that was you until I checked home again! What if there were 2 Rachel's I wouldn't know which one you were! Love Leia, though:)

message 2740: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments If you get paperback, it's about twelve dollars Canadian.

It's not too bad.

If you DO buy, I'll love you forever! *gives Kandice big wide hedgemu eyes*

message 2741: by Kandice (last edited Jan 27, 2009 02:29PM) (new)

Kandice Whatever, you cheeky (sassy) brit!!!
I will look, but make no promises! Well, I already promised Fi, but I will have a new book allowance Friday, so if I don't get AGATB tonight, then this weekend. You pushers!!!!

Someone better be willing to discuss these books with me.

message 2746: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I'm willing! HELL yesss!!

I am willing to chat and chat and chat about AGATB until my eyes close for exhaustion!

And I will forget about EVERYTHING I HAVE TO DO for an ENTIRE WEEK just to discuss AGATB.

message 2748: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I DO NOT want a South Park avatar! Shaun loves South Park, but ever since I walked in on an episode where all these little boys were pretending to have a period... He would never let me live it down!!!!!!

message 2749: by Kandice (last edited Jan 27, 2009 03:06PM) (new)

Kandice HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kind of wish, when you change your avatar, only new posts would have it. Not the old ones. I guess that would be even more confusing. Never mind.

message 2750: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh, is that picture really you? I just thought it was a picture you found and liked! My kids keep bugging me to put my picture on there, and of course my husband says "No one will really think it's you, so why?"
