Thanks! There is soooooo much to learn, so much to do .... but it is all new and so all interesting. I can't wait to learn and learn....
Am I associal?????..... I have been taking my lunch at my new job always around 12 or 12.15......mainly because I am hungry. But every day a colleague asks if I want to have lunch with them..... and I always say I had it already....but a second reason I go and eat already is....because then I am alone ...and I can read!!!!!!!!
Jeane, I was like that at my office job too. I never wanted to go to lunch with anyone, I preferred staying in my office and reading while eating a granola bar. Also everyone I worked with was 20-30 years older than me so I felt really out of place.
I think I better plan extra GR time in my weekend plans...don't manage to catch up when I come back from work.
Jessica wrote: "Jeane, I was like that at my office job too. I never wanted to go to lunch with anyone, I preferred staying in my office and reading while eating a granola bar. It is like from 100% reading during the week, to 10%!!!!
Petra X wrote: "What job? What have I missed? Congrats anyway Jeane but tell me all about it pls."I started working Monday. Thanks Petra.
Great it is Friday! Normally I finish at 4.45 so I am home towards six. But every fraiday, besides the last one of the month we finish at 3.30!!!! Got home at the same time btut at least i could pick up a package and go to the shop.bad side is that every last one of the month we have to stay till late. Like the time we left earlier ever friday, we will work later the last friday of the month. Because they close balances and all thos things, so there is a lot of work to do then.
Oh, my package! It was from my boyfriend's mother. She send a big brown envelope and filled it completely with tea bags. All my favourites!!!!! The normal lipton tea, the camomilla from Italy which is njamie njamie and then a twinnings I adore with ribes nero, ginseng and vanilla. The smell inside the package was sooooooooooooooooooo good!
okay boyfriend came home from work. He started working two days later than me! And as I ahve the weekend off but he has to work ten hours tomorrow, gonna cook soemthing for us. Start to get hungry too.and tomorrow finally after a week: library!!!!!!
I have a job interview on Monday! They e-mailed the application and whatnot to fill out and part of it was a reading comprehension test. I was like, WTF? I am a college graduate who read 57 books last year, I think I can comprehend a simple paragraph.
Laura wrote: "YAY Jeane congratulations! Happy days are here again in Jeane-world."Haha, I really miss the reading and my mmore than once a week library visits! I took Moby Dick as book to read on bus and during lunch because I don't get through it easily. That way I read it in small bits and it works really well.
And then I have a book home which is to read between dinner and going to bed. That one is jsut one i want to read, so not like Moby Dick.
My bus stop isn't far from the library, maybe five minutes or so. And since I startedworking, everytime I get off I am thinking about the place! But later in the day...yahoooooo. And put some reading time in today too. :-))))
Jessica wrote: "I have a job interview on Monday! They e-mailed the application and whatnot to fill out and part of it was a reading comprehension test. I was like, WTF? I still can't believe I became a collection analyst....never would have thought I would concider AND get a job like that.
After getting up at 6.15 every day...I of course don't manage to sleep longer int he weekend......I am really awake since then and out of bed around 7.30. Well I had been out already. My boyfriend liked it though. He has his first early day at work adn was getting up at 6.30...as I was awake anyway I made him a caffe latte which helped him. He is really not a morning eprson, contrary to me. But this way I can catch up a bit. Have to wait for library anyway, opens at ten. Also supermarket probably around now or ten.... .
What a wind outside!!!!!!! I had to push against it to get on! Luckily it was when coming back from the library and not towards it.Gonna eat a Cream of mushroom with croutons Cup Soup. caldino cosi` hehe....
damned on TG24 they are jsut talking the whole time why it is so cold this year.......don't mind but I am feeling cooooold.
Fiona wrote: "Ugh mushrooms! Yuck yuck yuck! :X I had a cream of mushroom soup once, with bits of mushroom floating about like slugs on top. Ugh, think it made me sick.Wind... hasn't been windy here which is s..."
I just saw that where i live in Belgium it says -10. This is very weird. It was already weird f we would get -1 or -2. That would be a very cold winter! But -10?????
Should really get of the computer. I am only busy on his website....but there is already less red on it.... . Still haven't bought the groceries for next week..... have to go today....And still didn't read! All because of TNBBC!!!!1
mmm, no need to go....in a bit I will! Then I jsut come home and don't get out anymore till tomorrow! Ha. I will make it warm int he room, cups of tea, books and now and then TNBBC. Okay, that gives energy.
You weren't bugsy! It said you weren't online!Ha, did the shopping and staying in for the rest of the day. But shouldn't be here, shouldn't be here...really was going to read. The books is beside me....I drank my cup of tea but didn't read.
OKay, this isn't anymore windy and not even strong windy...this is stormy1 When I came back from the supermarket by footh I had two big bags with me. Had to push against the wind but the wind made of my books something near to wings! Should have seen me1 I thought I was going to fly!!!!
Com'on...there is an author on GR who send me again a friends request. I don't know who she is, don't know her books and she always says we have books in common and Florence......but never saw a post of her. I deleted it the last time and she is there again. She probably redoes all her requests every month!
hehe, ghosty Fiona.I saw that he forecast gives even more wind tomorrow!!!! Just going to go to the centre. Hopefully my boyfriend wants to go early in the morning, then back home and staying inside.....
You know the duvet (the white one you put inside the bed cover)...Well, when we moved to Nottingham we bought a winter one because it was winter....seemed logic. But it was so thick, heavy and warm that I couldn't sleep so I bought one of 4.5 instead of over 10. The 4.5 is normally for summer. But in Nottingham and later London we were warm under it.So this time, it went like this. The first day we arrived here we went to buy all the bed stuff and even though it was cold (didn't realize yet that it was much colder already end november than I ever felt in England) so told my boyfriend that we better buy again one of only 4.5 because otherwise it would be to warm again. He actually didn't mind the heavier one in England. But now we realized that it is so much colder and we are not really warm with the light one. But I kept telling him things like..we can just make the heater go on for half an hour during the night to break the cold...or that I can handle, that it is okay and so on......tomorrow we go and buy a heavier one.
:-)))) I am sure that the whole speech that I got already several times about it, will have to be heard again tomorrow when we go and buy it... :-)))
And yes I do think stuborness is a positive characteristic of myself. Just that I call it stick to what I believe in.

I won't lie, if I get the job, I'll be sad to see my Borders discount go but working at Borders itself is a little mind-numbing. I pretty much just say the same 4 phrases over and over again until my shift is over.
Jessica & Jeane I too usually read. I use to sit at a table with a friend and we both would read but she left. It calms me and is nice as a break to read.
We have so much snow here today. I was hoping to take my kids to the dentist, get my son signed up for baseball, get groceries then bum on GR &/or read but alas this horrible snow storm has forced me out in the cold. I have spent with the children, about 6 hours shoveling. It looks like it is stopping. I so hope! My back and arms are killing me & my snowblower which I jsut got back from the repair shop stopped working at 6:00 am today. Thank goodness I have five good snow shovels!
It's nice to be inside, dry & finally warm!!!!!!!!!!

we have snow here!another thing..is anyone else bitten by this nasty flu bug sort of thing that I seem to have caught? I think it's just a 24 hour thing..but i have been out for the count today...the only good to come from that is finishing a whole book today.

good i'm glad you don't have it! so many people around here have it! i thought i had salmonella poisoning because it was so bad and there is an outbreak around here according to the paper. but..i woke up this morning feeling fine! :)
I have not been on because I have been helping my son wwith his 7th grade project... THE ABC'S OF IMPPERIALISM. It's been a joy.....
Emilee, we had a snow storm here too on Saturday. I had to go out and shovel three different times. By the 3rd time I could understand how older people can die while shoveling!
Fiona wrote: "My ghosh, never had enough snow here to need shovelling. Although, in England 2 inches of snow usually means no one goes out of their houses, goes to work or goes to school. We seem to have Jeane'..."
Yeah Fiona, a bit of rain in England means trains don't work anymore!!!! A bit of lightning and everything gets messed up! There is still some wind but no storm...
dadadadada yahoooo I received a package...I got Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell .....hihi. I am so glad!
My boyfriend is a basterd....he is suddenly free tomorrow and now he is letting me know it in anyway, through jokes......welll, won't work much either tomorrow, have like four hours of training....
Jessica: I'm glad I wasn't alone in the shoveling!
We are getting another snow storm tonight. Blizzard warning. It's a hot tea, warm blanket and good book night!

Fiona:
I'll gladly blow some snow to you! WE are suppose to get freezing temperatures starting tonight. That means lots of layers.

How is the job???
How is the job???
Jessica: Good luck on your interview!
I guess I should make dinner for the family. Oh but it's nice to be going through the threads.
Thanks for the good luck guys. I interviwed with a girl around my age and it seemed to go well, she said she would pass on my info to people who have more of a say in the hiring process so hopefully something good will happen there.
Good luck, Jessica. All good energies chatting the job thing with friends (& even strangers)! Always surprises me how helpful some folks can be!If I adopted 2 poochies, which I would want to name Jack n Jill (like Stephanie's), what breed(s) should I pick?? Any suggestions?? I had been thinking recently about hound dogs..but I currently live in the city limits...hmmm...labradors? Which is better Golden or Black labs??
