I am logging off. Need to get ready for Wicked! Yeah!

message 1902: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona, it gave me a good feeling when the woman said that it would be okay for the library, because it means I should be able to become a member next week!!!!!

That stupid excuse that it is just a kid doesn't matter, you are parents and should be there not to let your child do those things!
Community work could be something to do with animals, even assist in rescuing and helping animals that have been hurt.
I can so hate to be a human being..what must i have done to be punished like this?????

message 1903: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona!!!! still in your PJs???????? Girl dress and stRT YOUR DAY!!!!!

40 PAGES OF pRODIGAL SUMMER?

message 1904: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona, I hate being part of the human beings because of what I get as image when I think about it.

fiona, you are a YA lover, can you help me? While I was in the library I saw they have a small YA section. Picked up a book that seems interesting callled.... Long weekend. Don't seem to find it on GR, maybe there was an A or The before the title..but didn't find it here anyway. Any ideas?

message 1905: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona, you are great!!! It is that book, same cover too. How did you find it????

I actually like those pictures..besides that one, don't remember how she is called but the most obvious, stupid one.

Did anyone ever share a place with Chinese people???

message 1906: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I just never seem to have good experiences with Chinese people, especially not related to cleaness, respect and consideration for other people...

Yahoo, I thought my boyfriend something related to books! I gave hime The dubliners today for his birthday, in a really nice edition. He saw isbn at the back and asked me what it is....enjoyed it so much to give him the whole explanation about it and how it works...:-)))

message 1907: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Yes Fiona, by James Joyce. It was his promise if we would go and live in Dublin. so to amke sure he keeps his promise now, I bought it! I have Ulysses at home and more than ten years now. still didn't read it after havig read the first pages. It is only around 200 pages his version..so not like Ulysses.

message 1908: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments It is one of those books i link with the phrase: once... will read it...

message 1909: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments It is having a winter sleep:-)))) one day.... but I hope i will readit for the winter challenge!!!!maybe

message 1910: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Ahem...Fiona....YGM

bye!

message 1911: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments nooooo, not shortbread cookies...I feel so weak when seeing them and prefer not to eat them but they are soooo njamie.

Fiona, I think I would just keep wondering how it was in the end, Moby Dick. so it is better to read it. It might be that in the end for some reason I like it after all the hard moments...but to know I have to read it frst.

message 1912: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Am I crazy for making a list of which books i want to borrow from the library if I don't have a membership card yet??????

message 1913: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) No. You aren't crazy, but if its a long list maybe you should get cards from several libraries.

message 1914: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) ugotmail!

bye

message 1915: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow I missed a lot while I was gone!

Wicked was awesome. It was very cold & snowy by Lake Micigan but well worth the cold. The kids loved it too!

message 1916: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Petra, first need to manage to get that first card. The nearest library is only 15 minutes walking and it doesn't feel like that, maybe a 5-10 min walk...

Fiona, Nooooooooo. Don't read the end before I read everything else. But think about how good and light I will feel the day I finish the book!!!!!
Fiona, is that still were you volunteer or did you get the job you went for?

message 1917: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) That's right, they don't! YGM.

message 1918: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) Sorry you didn't get the jobs Fiona.

message 1919: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry about not getting the jobs Fiona.

Jeane: just do what I do and read multiple books at a time then when you aren't in the mood for Moby dick you can put it down to enjoy something else.

I need to read Moby Dick. Should I be scared?

Petra: how was your B-day.

message 1920: by [deleted user] (new)

I couldn't seem to find a purple or pink smurf.

It is a lot of blue.

I have like 1200 pictures in my camera to download and wanted to make my new kitten my avi but I'm lazy.

message 1921: by [deleted user] (new)

boo-hoo- **sobbing*** :(

message 1922: by [deleted user] (new)

Pumpkin & my son kept me up all night. Pumpkin wanted to play all night and my son was running a fever. I so need a nap! Not going to happen.

message 1923: by [deleted user] (new)

I put her in the kennel for about an hour. She is so cute but my goodness. I do need some sleep. She sleeps better when the older cat is with me but the older cat doesn't like her so Ellie is hiding in the ceiling.

message 1924: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Hope you find something else Fiona. If we both get a job around the same time we can party together with a trip to a bookshop!
If the world would finish today and the only thing i would be able to do is reading, I would wat to read the books of Patricia Cornwell that I didn't read yet and The brave of Nicholas Evans. But that one is not out yet.... but no, not Moby Dick.
Emilee, in the meantime I jsut go on reading other books too. Reading sepulchre now.
Don't know if you should be scared of it. It is seen by many as a classic and so many people do like it.... but for now, not me at all! I saw that the first time I tried it was about 4 years ago but had it on my mind for many more years.

message 1925: by [deleted user] (new)

I know a lot of people have said it's long. A few have told me it's boring. But I love most classics. Oh heck I love most books.

message 1926: by [deleted user] (new)

That is so funny.

I started reading my son the War of the Worlds a week ago. so today my daughters come in the room and asked me to start over. I told them to grab a copy at the library. The wouldn't leave me alone about starting over. So I had to put the book down. I should run & read now that all the kids are watching a movie.

message 1927: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Might be Fiona...didn't like it that much.

message 1928: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona we could start it together!

message 1929: by [deleted user] (new)

It's hard to be an adult & live with parents. When I divorced my first husband I moved back in with my parents. Oh big mistake! Never again.

It's hard to love someone that annoys us isn't it???

message 1930: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hellooo guys.

Moby Dick, another book I must read.

message 1931: by [deleted user] (new)

Emma you should read this with me & Fiona. And Jeane I'm sure we might be able to catch up to you?

How have you been Emma?

Is it cold up in Canada? It's freezing down by Lake Michigan.

message 1932: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hmm, I just might have to read it with you guys!

I'm good, busy, but good.

It's so effing freezing here. We just had this huge snow storm. I love it. It's fantastic.

message 1933: by [deleted user] (new)

We had a huge snow storm too! I really need to shovel but it's too cold to go outside! How close are you to the US border?

message 1934: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I never go back home anymore. The first six months at home this year were the worst since long timw. If it hadn't been for my sister I would have gone to my boyfriend's family in Italy after two months. (he was working on a cruise ship for 6 months)

Emilee, for sure you would be able to catch up with me!!!!! I am not going forward with it.

message 1935: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hmmm...uhhh...

Close. lol.

I'm not shoveling. I'll wait till it settles down.

message 1936: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Emilee, Lake Michigan isn't that in the neighbourhood of Norwalk, Wisconsin?

message 1937: by [deleted user] (new)

Jeane: I'm in Illinois but Lake Michigan is by Illinois & Wisconsin. I do believe Norwalk is close. Of course Michigan is on the other side of the Lake.

message 1938: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona: I'm Sorry! It's hard for Mother's and Daughters. I get along with my Mum but better with my Dad.

message 1939: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments My family is....strange at the best.

They are not the most respective, or nice.

message 1940: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Not being yourself pretty much wraps up my dad's side.

It's...complicated. Frankly, I just don't like them, and they reject the people who need them the most.

message 1941: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona: my mum is always after me to wear make up & fashionable clothes. It helps that I live 2000 miles away. When you don't use make up you can buy more books!!!!!!!!

message 1942: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments GOOD POINT EMILEE.

message 1943: by [deleted user] (new)

I love my family but sometimes it is better to have distance.

My Father is on me to move back to Utah and move in with him & Mum. I'm going through a very nasty divorce and they think I can't make it on my own. I make more money them my Mum in a year and have been seperated from my 2Bx for 1 year w/o any problems. Parents! Can't live with them can't live without them!

message 1944: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Parents......

My relationship with my parents is strange.

My parents are separated, and I have a better relationship with my mother than my father, unbeknowst to him.

message 1945: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Just being direct is a problem on my dad's side. They like to gossip and act like all problems are everyone else's fault, not anyone inside their inner circle or god forbid, themselves.

message 1946: by [deleted user] (new)

Women/girls I think have a harder time getting along with each other. I always had more male friends then female. Now I'm just me. I'd rather be reading, scrapbooking or quilting. Occassionally going to the movies but I go by myself.

message 1947: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I've had girlfriends who are very gossipy, I prefer my friends who have ambitions like me.

I care about my appearance, but make me choose between a shopping spree and a book spree, I'll choose the book spree.

message 1948: by [deleted user] (new)

Too bad that we don't all live closer together we could hang out at a bookstore from opening to closing! Perfection!

message 1949: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments :) So true Emilee!

message 1950: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I love DEALS.

Deals deals deals deals.

I don't like brand names. I get a yucky taste in my mouth when I spend too much.
