I have always boiled water for my tea. At work I am unable too because their isn't a stove. I like my tea either super strong or with a little honey. But I always wondered why when I make it at work it foams a little Question answered. Thanks Ken.
Congrats Angela! That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
:) Thanks Lori and Laura. I've been busy, but I miss you guys!
Don't be worried, GR still has me obsessed. :)
Congratulations on your Masters, Angela!Fiona, I want to lose weight and you want to gain it, so....but you don't want 20 lbs. though do you?
Hi GEmma! November's almost over and we'll have you back!
It's fun...And I'm finishing.
I just need to push myself. WORD COUNT is the only thing I need to focus on, not the lack of plot or things actually happening.
Just the word count. Which is why I'm going to make Rowan sing Desolation Row all the way TWO TIMES.
Wow Fiona, glad you got that out of your system. Try not to let it get you down. I'm sure in her way, she means well, as no parent wants to poison her child (on purpose).I think you're incredibly funny and talented. We love reading your posts. You always have something interesting to say.
I'm sure your job interview will go well. Keep your chin up, Fiona! Cream always rises to the top. Always. And so shall you, my dear.
:)
Thanks to everyone!! I am hoping to get a job at a school soon, but I will probably have to wait until next school year because no one is hiring
Congratulations to Angela and good luck Fiona. If you are in real life as you are on Goodreads, you will ACE both of them!
I too am trying to gain weight, too bad we can't share weight. I take a few pound/kg and Fiona takes a few then we call all even out!
Fiona it gets worse the old you get. When people ask me how old I am I tell them i've been 21 for years now!
Good Night Fiona. I know that 9 pm here is 3 am for you.
*** Tears, sobbing****
No more Fiona:( I'm feeling lonely??? Laura? Emma? Kellie?
No more Fiona:( I'm feeling lonely??? Laura? Emma? Kellie?
I can never remember how old I am. I always have to add in my head and that takes a minute.I think it started after 21. That is like a milestone. Legal. After that, nothing special. Except maybe 30...And OK 40 but I'm holding it there.
What is that? The Avatar. Is it some sort of fuzzy Ostrich or something?Yikes!
I hate Ostrich's. We like to go to this farm where you can drive your car thru the woods and feed the animals. They have these ostrich's that come up to the car and peck your hand to get food. They totally freak me out. I feel like I'm in Jurassic Park. They are the ugliest things. No offense Fiona. I like you :)
Hey Lori....Are you getting much snow these days? I heard the Lake Effect snow maker was churning pretty good up there. Didn't know if you were affected by it?
Sometimes....I miss the snow. But then I wake up and think Nah..who wants to have to clean their car off every morning? Wear coats, boots, hats, mittens and scarves every day? Not me.
Done with that.
Ugh, I really don't want to go to work today. But it will be worse next week, I have to work 8-5 on Black Friday. Kill me.
Ugh, that sounds awful. No one should have to get up at 5am ever. I don't work very far from my house, I can leave 15 minutes before my shift starts and get there on time. Even nicer when my shift ends, I get home very quickly.
Jessica, don't you work in a bookstore? Yep...Black Friday would be murder.Fiona, sorry, your avatar looks so much like an ostrich. I even clicked on your page to see it enlarged.
Baby owls are great! I love owls. We have some that live in our woods. I love the sounds they make. We can sometimes hear a pair talking back and forth.
OOH OOH OOH OOH OOH!!!!!My guy and I have been tentatively looking for a place to rent. He was dead set against apartments, until we went to look at these. (I had to talk him into it).
Arbors of Traverse: We're getting the Oak Floor Plan
I'm so excited. (never thought I'd say that about moving into an apartment again.) They are brand new, all come with full sized washer/dryer, dishwasher/disposal, central air, one car garage, separate entrance and a nice patio.
Other amenities include: 24/7 fitness center, heated pool with jacuzzi, use of the club house (which includes a full kitchen, flat screen TV, fireplace, pool table, and business room in which they have set up a book/magazine swap), snow removal and trash are taken care of also.
I'm so excited I could wet myself. (I'm sure part of it has to do with being able to live with my sweetie now.)
Darla, those are some nice apartments and pretty cheap rent for what you're getting. I wish those prices were offered here in CT. Around here those apartments would be considered luxury and would cost over $1,000.
I used to work in retail hell... I wouuld have to go in at 4:30am...Ug!!!Now I am one of the ones that go shopping at 5:00am!!lol
187 posts and the're practically all about biscuits!!!!!!!!Fiona, when do you have your interviews? I also never remember my age well, got stucked at 24 and always have to count it with my year of birth!
Jessica, good luck at work next Friday. I've worked Black Friday in retail hell and let's just say it was not pretty. It ruined my Christmas spirit =(
Good luck. I know how these posts can start with one thing and end with something completely different. It was nice to read how you both tried to explain to the other one what biscuits are!Gonna stop for today, too tired. and wanna find out how to become member of the library. Hope they don't want prove of address.
Kellie, no, not much snow at all lately. Just flurries and dustings. (thank goodness for that)
Darla, those apartments are gorgeous. They arent fully furnished are they? Just fully applianced?
btw, speaking of donating your body to science... my hubby and I took the kids to see this Body World display in Inner Harbor this summer... he is a paramedic and is really interested in the whole human body thing....
Check it out... its all real human bodies, so freaky to look at....

I think they had that at our Discovery Place here in Charlotte a few months ago. I heard it was great!!It is freakin' cold down here in the south. We are freezing our patooties off!!
Lori... they aren't fully furnished... they do come with all the appliances (even a microwave). We are going to the furniture store on Mon. :) Jackie: I guess they consider themselves to be "luxury" apartments, but they're quite affordable for what they are and all the perks!
A friend of mine just moved into them last month. She said they do all sorts of community things. For example, every fall the office hires a shuttle bus and takes any residents who want to participate on a wine tasting tour.
They also give you opportunities to enter raffles to win 50$ off rent. My friend showed me her monthly newsletter, and the options it gave you to get into the raffle were: donate blood at the community blood drive, or donate 10 cans of food to the Father Fred Foundations food drive.
I can't wait :)
What? 10+ hours with no posts in this thread? I loved Stiff but it made the roommates really nervous to wander in the living room to find me giggling while reading about cadavers. But really, how can one not find munitions-grade jello funny? Or the bit about the gerbils & the airplane.
I just had my first tea at home here. Not convinced about it, maybe it is the water or the kettle we just bought. Hope it isn't the tea because there are 30 bags in the box! wanted twinnings but they only had special flabors so we took Barry's tea. Don't know it, maybe it is Irish.Fiona, did you make your cup? You will enjoy it. Of course the sugar gives a lovely addictive taste to it. I stopped using sugar in my tea.
fiona, tried PG at work in London and hated it. It tasted discusting! I prefer Lipton or Twinnings. I jsut stopped using sugar becasue I drink many cups of tea and I read the book Sugar blues which made me realize the influence sugar has on my body. But of course sugar does make the tea taste njamie. A twinings tea that didn't need sugar for me was the mix of ginseng, vanilla and black .... (a purple looking small fruit). It is really good. Lilla twinning box. They shouls make the Argos catalogue bigger, my boyfriend is watching it so it takes a bit fo time. And a dangerous thing he is doing: he put pretzels next to it, so without noticing his hand constantly takes them!!!
njamie means really good, mmmmmmmmmI know, I had to carry it home too, evne if it was my boyfriend who wanted it. But the bigger it is, the more time he will need know to watch it page by page, which means the less he will want to be using his laptop!
Fiona, yesterday tw of the people living here told us how bad bus connection can be in Dublin. sometimes double the time than normally, they never come on time and so on....I could only think about all the extra time it would give me to read!!!!!
Didn't know there was a tesco catalogue, besides online!!I think I would only start to read a lot already on the bus and towards the centre becasue there is the last stop. otherwise while reading, looking up all the time.
I didn't found the this one back, thought the fiona, emille and laura random thought was a different one...but then I remembered it had been change!I am huuuungry. Didn't have lunch so only consumed water, cup of tea, one slice of plain bread and a round piece of....bread kinda think with seeds on. And this time I am on english time too!
If the oven will work well, first time using it, I ma having a pizza with mozarella this evening, njamie....
I'm gonna make gingerbread muffins! Doesn't that sound wonderful? I'm getting in the holiday spirit. Our LITE music station has already started playing Cmas songs all day. Anyone playing Cmas carols over there in Europe?Christmas in Killarney Jeane???
LOL
:)
Where Laura???I think I will never be able to eat them because it is called mincemeat. I thought there was meat in and when my boyfriend wanted to buy them yesterday, I told them i was pretty sure there was meat in and so he didn't take them. I told him now and he looked at me like a little sad boy.
because the name says meat....I wouldn't manage to put it in my mouth....I don't think there is asda in dublin, but there is tesco. and londis, lidl, aldi and also superquinn, which makes me think of you!!!!
gonna be nice and give the laptop bake to the owner....
