You girls are talkers!

Okay-I leave for 3 hours and come back to 62 posts. How will I ever get caught up?
Jessica I know how you feel. I hate going to work because I know that I will be excessively behind. I just wish I could get paid to chat on GR all day. What a nice job that would be.
Okay just online babbling to myself. La de da!!!

Laura clotted cream (other than consistency) is absolutely nothing like cream cheese.

"When I eat beans, I sit in my own little cloud -- Nobody comes to visit me, in my little cloud...I don't know why, maybe it's 'cause I'm cuttin' muffins...

I think English "digestive biscuits" are like our shortbread cookies. I know their biscuits are our cookies.
Our bisciuts are light and fluffy that are so good with butter and honey, or jam, or syrup. yummy...
Now I am hungry...
But not for beans.

American biscuits are more like plain English scones but only like, not identical. Shortbread cookies in the US are identical to shortbread in the UK; they don't resemble digestive biscuits at all. The closest the US has to digestives is Graham crackers, not the same but very similar.
Biscuits and cookies aren't the same at all. A biscuit (in the UK) is hard and often crunchy. Cookies tend to be soft and often chewy.
One thing I miss is chip butties. There is nothing like a chip butty made with doorstep bread and Heinz ketchup and thick-sliced golden chips.
We just drink our tea. I usually go stron with teh tee sometimes I add honey. But a lot of Americans perfer coffee.
My Honors English teacher in High School actually brought us English Biscuits. I actually know what they are. Our cookies are excessively sweet usually.
It's funny how different the world is on food.

What I want to know is why do Americans ask if you want 'sugar and cream' with tea or coffee when they mean sugar and milk?

It is completely weird how different food is. Why can't the same word at least mean the same thing? This I don't understand.
Petra, is your barbie w/curlers today?

Heather - How's EoE coming along? I decided to abandon Curious in favor of History of Love and Book Thief.

Fiona - I thought you'd be gone for quite awhile! That was quick. And you saw a sheep? Nice! Aren't they pretty common in England tho (at least the rural parts)?

You're right. So confusing!
I hope Jeane is doing well w/her move. I guess I should probably actually get something done today.
BAH

I'm so excited!
That's OK I just checked in to update GR to show the 3 books I am now reading.

Jeez I never thought I was OCD before, might have to reconsider that one.

(Hey if you knew the story - I've eliminated alcohol, cigarettes (well that was long ago), white sugar and white flour, Triscuits (whole wheat) and c.c. is about all I have left!)
