I've just read the sex scene between Yeine and Nahadoth and you are right Skip, at least that one scene has a lot in common with vampire romance. Girl pines and eventually gets to be seduced and be with "death" incarnate aka "the ultimate bad boy". Very vampirey. Made me want to skip a bunch of that chapter. Seemed very silly. But then again I'm not the primary audience for that scene I would guess so who am I to judge. (hide spoiler)]

Regarding the zombies: (view spoiler)[I don't think that the Walking Death disease could be counted as zombie-like. The sick walked while they were still living, only going mad and they died afterwards, which is the most important difference, since zombies are already dead. Plus, I'm not sure, but other than being infectious, they didn't actually try to harm others - at least as far as I remember. (hide spoiler)]
